CAG March Madness 2009

Night games mostly going my way--other than Cleveland St still up on Wake.

I have Wake going out next round anyway. So I look certain to get through the first round with 15 of my Sweet 16 intact--best I've done in a few years.

But I'd rather have 1/15 and have WVU still there than have them as my one gone after the first round! :whistle2:(


Edit: Oops, have Wake in the Sweet 16 and they're still down (lot of time to go). Thought I had them going out next round. So maybe only 14/16.

yeah clevland st out of no where...im dying here since i have wake on the last leg of a parlay (-7.5).

ugh i thought VCU, Butler and Portland St were gonna be upsets, didn't show up on the brackets for me. Then whats this Dayton crap. Alex Ruoff where were u!!! 9pts? 1/4 from 3. He was a beast in the Big East Championships

I feel you brother. I had wake on the last leg of a teaser.
 
Counted a couple of my chickens before they hatched with FSU and Ohio State.

Wisconsin got a great and 1 play with 2 seconds left in OT to win by 2.

Sienna hit a 3 with 3.9 seconds left in 2OT to win by 2. Two best games so far for sure!

So I finish the first round 24-8, with 14 of my sweet 16 intact.

Missed Ohio St., Wake Forest, WVU, BYU, Tennessee, FSU, Butler and Illinois, with Wake and WVU being the two I had in the sweet 16. Elite 8 and Final 4 still intact.

Damn 8-9 match ups! Missed all 4 of them this year!
 
Glad to see my Cleveland State Vikings got the win. My schools have had luck with the NCAA tournament lately. I wish I would have made a bracket. I'm thinking CSU will at least get past Arizona, but then lose to Louisville.

Definitely have a good shot of doing that. Wake is a much better team than Arizona and they pretty much dominated them from start to finish.
 
Wake,Utah, and Illinois got me pretty good. I had Utah and Ilinois going in to the 3rd round.

Thank god Siena won. i got 3 of my 8/9 matchups won with the only one missing is the BYU/Texas A&M game.
 
Yay for Nova showing us why they are a #3 seed.... finally.

7 more games today. Hopefully we get some exciting basketball like last night. I also hope a couple parlays hit (unlike last night F U Wake! Ugh!)
 
Maryland needs to cut off the lanes for Memphis and force them to shoot outside.

thats what CSU northridge did, played zone and forced memphis to make the outside shot and it made the game closer then it should have been. It was a 34-31 half for CalState NorthRidge vs Memphis.
 
Maybe AJ Abrams @ Longhorns can make the Duke game exciting or Western Kentucky vs Gonzaga. Im gonna go grocery shopping and catch the second half of these games. Hopefully the later games have some lead changes.
 
CBS has the worst coverage. If there are 3 close games ending at the same time they should:

1. Freeze the tickers at the top of the screen.
2. Show all of close game 1.
3. Show recorded versions of the last 3 minutes of all other close games.

I loved how they cut away from a potential game winning shot with 1 second left last night.
 
oh purdue, ure the wake forest for today. they didn't cost me as much as wake did, but still 115$ would have been nice. Oh well :/

Lost 2 of my elite 8 teams....UDub and BC....besides that i'm alright....had Michigan winning but so be it.
 
^ hell of a finish to that game. Gonzaga isn't impressive at all this year but they are winning their games which is all that matters.
 
Syracuse downed ASU by 11 (missed that one).

Current batch of games is close for the most part. Arizona up by 10 on Cleveland St. Other games are in single digits.

Wisc up by 2 on Xavier at the half. Pitt and Ok. St are tied (Ok St has been raining 3's), and Dayton is hanging around with Kansas, down 4 or 5 at the moment.
 
Cleveland State just doesn't have the size to pull this one out, and none of their shots are dropping. A shame, but hopefully their good first round showing will put some life into the program.
 
Pitt game has been a battle. They're up 2 with 1:31 to play.

EDIT they turn it on at the end and win by 8 behind 32 points from Sam Young.

Kansas and Xavier turned it on after the half and won easily and Arizona won as well.

So far I've lost 4 of my sweet 16 (Wake, Washington, ASU and WVU) but still have my Elite 8 and beyond intact. Have Mich St, Missouri and Louisville in this last batch of games.

My Sweet 16 is all good besides Purdue, Duke, Xavier. All 1-5 seeds in the Sweet16 besides Arizona (which i picked!) but definitely didn't have as many upsets as i hoped in the earlier rounds. still at the bottom of both of my pools...Blarg!
 
Well, I got 14 out of Sweet 16 right the only ones I got wrong are Arizona and Xavier but the funny thing is in my other bracket I picked Xavier to go to the Sweet 16 so I got 15 out of 16 right in that one. I have the same amount of points in both now because the rest of my picks are the same except for who I have playing in the title game.

Well, isn't life grand I'm in second place.

And they all won, so I finish with 12/16 and the elite 8 and beyond in tact. Still have a godo shot in my office pool.
 
Got 3/4 tonight--but glad my one miss was Duke! Had them losing to Pitt in the next game anyway. I had thought about picking Nova, but didn't want to be a Big East homer and have 4 teams in the elite 8 since I though the three 1 seeds would make it. But looks like that's how it will pan out with 3 in already and Louisville likely getting in tomorrow and Cuse with a chance as well.

3/4, damn memphis. had them going to the final four so that hurt.

the pitt game was fun to watch. hope saturday is as good as tonights basketball
 
KU & MSU game is down to the last 20seconds. exciting ><


wow can't believe chicago's Sherron Collins blew that free throw. He was the guy I thought would pull KU to the elite eight.
at least we got one exciting game on friday.
 
Wow that was a hell of a game! Best of the tourney so far.

Bad day for my bracket as I had Missouri and Pitt in the Final Four.
 
And my bracket is busted... had Pitt as the champs. =[

UConn is my only pick still alive (have them losing to Pitt in the 'ship game)
 
So i'm rolling along fine....had two wildcards in Final 4...Gonzaga and Mizzou....bam lost all 4....fuck YOU PITT AND fuck YOU LOUISVILLE
 
So I went from 7/8 of the Elite 8 to 1/4 of the Final Four. :lol:

Oh well, on the bright side at least I have UNC winning it all so I can pick up a couple more points.
