CAG NBA 2k7 Draft League: 5 Games Total Played by Sun 11/5

I'm in, I just want committed players. Clippers for me.

Btw, is anyone running a non-draft leauge?

Each player can have their own angle, atleast in 2k6 it was that way.

i dont think it's by weeks...it's by games if it's like 2k6 (30ish games would be good)

playoff structure is automatic if it's like 2k6

each player can have his/her own camera angle

you guys wanna make any rules? for example, no camping in the paint with the Center on defense, etc.?

oh, and when will the draft be? game comes out on a monday...have the draft on the weekend of the game's debut sound good? or what

great since I like playing with the old school 2k angle.

as for the league settings I forgot that this game has built in leagues so we'll just see what options it has when it comes out.

also how does the draft part of the league work out online? Does everyone have to be online to do the draft?

it's like fantasy basketball, you can prerank your players for the draft if you are going to miss all of it or some of it...you can enter the draft anytime during the draft and continue it wherever the draft is at the time you enter

yes, it is a live draft and you can draft players over xbox live or on the 2k website

draft order is random, meaning No bobcats, hawks, raptors dont necessarily draft first ;)

anyway, draft on the weekend sound good? this ensures everybody has got the game and has a little time to spend with it before going against some competition ;) Saturday 9/29 night time?
 
well the 12 spots are filled for now but let me know if your interested in being a replacement because I'm sure some will drop out.
 
hey DT778, since you are going to make the effort of setting up the league and being in charge you can have the Lakers if you want. If you want em, I'll take the Pistons. Next weekend sounds good for the draft.

And if enough people want to play, someone else should just set up another league.

Awesome I got my Bulls. I have never played in a NBA league so this will be my first. I have played in the NHL league the last two years with not two much luck because the Blackhawks suck.

Do we have to do a fantasy draft? I would just like to use my guys on the Bulls as is. Can I just use my team and not have anyone draft my players?

Anyway I just ordered the game today and will get it a few days after release with shipping. Can't wait.

thanks but you called them first. As for the draft it would be best to find the best time for it once we are sure who the 12 players are going to be.

Yes this is a draft league, everyone is fair game. Let me know if you want out.

If there are only 12 people playing most teams are going to have too many good players on them. Its just not B-ball. But I want to play in a league this year.

and i don't understand why people have problems with more "good" players on each team with less people...yea, there will be more stars per team, but everyone will have more stars, not just one or two people, so it all evens out...plus having more good players per team means spreading the ball around more since everyone is a threat instead of just the team's one or two star players..ON TOP of that, it levels the playing field for those who get stuck with not-so-great teams such as the bobcats, atlanta hawks, etc. because they signed up too late or something

you can create a non-draft CAG league if you want...just make another thread

P.S. if you REALLY want to play with your stock bulls team, then you can just memorize the bulls roster from highest rated to lowest rated and draft accordingly every pick you get...since that starts with wallace (89) i don't think you'll have a problem getting the entire bulls lineup

I thinking about it. I know the roster and could draft everyone accordingly and if Jim was kidding about Ben Wallace then I might consider.

I just need to get my hands on Wallace, Gordon, Hinrich, Deng and Nocioni.

Then I would maybe want to throw in some Chicago guys like Garnett or Wade. But I would think Wade would be one of the first to go and I would use my first pick on Wallace if he is still up on the board.

I think that starting a league myself would be difficult because I usually play with the CAG crowd and if everyone is going to play in this league I should just go for it. Like I said I am thinking about it and I'll let everyone know on Monday.

I am not sure if I will have the game by the weekend. Gameexpress.com is usually pretty fast delivery to Chicago so hopefully this would work out if I decide to join which I am leaning more towards yes.
 
well if you decide to play you better be sure bucause nobody want to see people quit because they didn't get the players they wanted.

if you get garnett or wade, you most likely will not get ben wallace...if you really want your Chi players, you will have to focus on them first and foremost and ignore the others

draft date is up to DT778, but i would suggest the friday or saturday following the game's release...gives time for people to get their game and spend some time with it, but not too far from the release date that people lose interest
 
Because the game is coming out soon and I'm pretty hyped up about starting our league (and I'm a little bored), I created my own mock fantasy draft for rounds 1 and 2 of our draft. Of course based on team needs and user preferencese things will obviously be different, and yes it's MOSTLY based on ratings but with a few changes:

release date is tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'll pick it up but it doesn't really matter since I have test everyday starting tomorrow. So I also won't be able to play until friday.

If your one of the 12 in the league post in this thread when you get the game and still plan on being in the league. Its up to you guys to let me know, I won't be PM'ing people.
 
And if we are having a fantasy draft for our teams, is the order going to be like 1-12 for round one, 12-1 for round 2, 1-12 for round 3, and so on so forth. That would be the most fair thing to do.

I just picked the game up

Playing the association I got the most ridicilous team (i got the 1st pick, luckily)

PG - Tony Parker
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - James Posey
PF - Al Harrington
C - Ben Wallace (I couldn't decide between him and Camby)

Notable reserves:
Udonis Haslem, Luke Walton, some others I can't remember

Also, my 360 is going to be repaired, so I might end up having to drop out of the league. Give me a few more days to see when they send the coffin out.
 
Wow the AI in this game is freaking horrible.... Tim Duncan going 9 for 9 from the FT line and Eddie Jones shooting like 80 something percent from the floor

Can't decide whether this was a good purchase or not

players make more shots (jump shots, dunks, free throws) when the difficulty is low...up the difficulty 2 notches up and it should be more realistic

yea that too...the AI is VERY good at making open shots...you should guard the guy with the ball and not give them any open shots
 
I think I'm going to drop out of the league. I'm not the biggest fan of this game and I think someone would like my spot better. I find your teammate AI to be horrible and the computer AI to be just ridicilously inconsistent (Darko is a freaking rebounding/shot-blocking machine).
