CAG NBA 2K9 League: Cavs and Celtics open!

Franky and I just played a good game. Tight for the first half (he was up ten or so at one point), but then his shots stopped falling, mine started falling, and I pulled away.

I THINK the website even counted it.
 
Good game WeavShow. Maaaan, that shot didn't look like it was going in. It was actually a set play-- Kaman was supposed to set a screen to pick off Kidd, but instead, you jumped-- so Kaman didn't set the screen and I just did a fadeaway...

haha. I would've made another highlight reel but the only one I wanted to save was the ally-oop ones, which weren't savable. =p
 
Yeah, if you are the one who is disconnected, you get the loss regardless of score. I guess that because the game has no way to discern between intentional quitters and simple lost connections.
 
Yeah, dudedizzle's connection is kinda shaky-- during our games, today and yesterday, that little "Waiting for Connection..." would pop-up. Is it possible to change the game results GoodFella so we can do this game again? =p
 
Hm, what else can you do as commish? As you probably know, the rosters are kinda outdated. I sent a trade offer to the Knicks (for Randolph) so is it possible to accept it for him since the Knicks owner isn't responding?

I'll have to look into it some more but for now I can only see trade offers. When I try to use the "analize" option nothing happens.
 
I don't think it'd be fair to accept it for him. What if he doesn't want to give up Randolph? The rosters are outdated now, yes, but we essentially severed all ties to the real NBA once we started our season. Trades, injuries, etc. should be determined by the players in the 2K9 league itself.

Yeah I agree. We can't follow everything that happens in the NBA, this is a separate franchise. Greg Oden got injured on my team but I'm not asking to have the commish take him off the injured list since he's not injured in real life. I mean I'm 1-3 and I'm not asking to reset my record to what the Blazers record actually was after four games. I think once you start the league you accept that any changes made in the real NBA are irrelevant, as we've started our own simulation.
 
I guess that makes sense, I just don't see it as a true league since we only play against each other once. But yeah, I see what you guys are saying.

Yeah, I really really wish they had a better league setup, but at least they have something, I guess.
 
Updated the OP with XBL gamertag for all league members. Click on the 360 icon next to the user's CAG name to send the user a Xbox live PM when you want to play a league game.

Also want to remind all that in order for 2K sports to recognize the league games that you played you must choose the "send challenge" option when you are in the league lobby and are getting ready to play against an opponent. DO NOT CHOOSE the "send custom challenge" option or else your match will not count! I have no control over this....blame it on 2K sports and their crazy ways :)

You were owning with Amare and Shaq early on and then you kinda drifted away from that.

FrankySox, I'm not sure but it really looked like you disconnected on purpose. It was looking like a blowout and you kept jumping around when I wasn't even looking to shoot. You also kept jacking up 3s. The first half didn't even end. If it was just a random disconnect, we'll have to play later. Sorry.

Yea I think I started to lose it when the subs came in during the 2nd quarter.

Okay first off, I was trying to get you to drive to the hoop, and you weren't taking it. I moved everyone out of the way once to see if you'd take it, which you didn't. I just wanted to get a feel for how you play, I figure it out, terribly slow and boring, which is fine I just wanted to know so I could set up my defense for the situation. I also like to play a fast paced game where I don't like to hold the ball more than ten seconds. Also my DNF was ZERO before going into that game. I believe the score was 25-12 in the second quarter and you think I would have quit because of that? That is hardly a blowout. My record is 1-3 and you think I just picked my game with you to quit? I'm sure the people I've played with here will cover for me. In my last game I was down to the Mavericks by about 15 but kept in it for a while until the fourth quarter which is when I started getting blasted. I hate quitting games and I get pissed when people do it. I figured you got disconnected too kind of like what happened when me and Matt Young played our game.

I sent you a message on Xbox right after you sent yours saying that I would spot you back the points. I didn't quit on purpose and would love to play you again. Also it's very hard for me to go in low because Oden is done forever, so expect a ton more threes.
 
I just checked and it gave me a loss, I'm probably going to wait a while to play my next game. First Matt and our game gets disconnected right at the end then this...crappy pants!

Okay, I can play you soon and spot you the points if you want so we can get it done. It's weird how this one counted and the last one I got disconnected from didn't Yeah terribly slow and boring is definitely your style, but like I said there is nothing wrong with that if that's what works for you!

I got disconnected with FrankySox again. This time it was the 2k servers. I was leading by 21 a few minutes into the 4th, so, I'm not sure he still wants to play again or what. I like ultra-outrebounded him because of his 2-3 zone.
 
Well it looks like it gave you the win which is a good thing. Yeah I got killed on the boards, I have to run that because I wont get boards anyways since Oden is gone.

What I'm confused about is the same thing happened to Matt and I but the game didn't count, maybe because we were tied. I'm not saying this shouldn't count because you had me fair and square (Probably twice). Plus I'm glad it counted because I don't want to play you again.

Also can you please tell me how you were involved in a game in which 207 points were scored? How did someone get you to play at a faster pace?
 
If anyone wants a free win tonight I'm able to play. Ever since that heartbreaking loss to the Hornets I can't hit the broad side of the barn. I think I'm shooting about 30% in my last five quarters. I'd really like a home game.
 
I was forced to play my opponent's tempo in that 207 game. Yeah, that's probably why I lost too. Not to mention he would cherry pick, so I had to force up 3s and quick shots.

Get over the fact that I killed you. Plus cherry picking was not really my game plan at all; I didn't score too many fast break points. I just like a fast tempo to a game and could tell I'd get you out of your rhythm with it.

Cherry picking wasn't your gameplan? HAHA you even changed your coach settings. After almost every rebound you'd pass it to JR Smith. Granted, I shouldn't have played your game and could've adjusted, but whatever, it's over.

If I don't hear back from them By Friday they will be dropped from the league and the teams will be made available for others that would like to join the league.
 
Anybody down for a game this afternoon/tonight against the Mavs? I know I haven't played Matt Young or Juan C yet, so I'd love to get a game against one/both of you in.
