CAG NBA 2K9 League: Cavs and Celtics open!

I think I can play tonight, I gotta practice before hopping online, It's been almost 2 weeks since I last touched the game :) after the beating I got from the Spurs . If you see me on live just send me a message. This also goes for anybody else that wants to play some games. Just make sure you have the Wizards in your queue.

Hey GOODFELLA, Is there anyway I could switch my teams? I'd love to have the Cavaliers but if it's too much of a nuisance I understand, just thought I'd throw my name in there.
 
Weav, what time were you thinking? I have some stuff to do tonight, but I will probably be available later on. Just let me know when you can play- I'm not sure of your time zone- and I'll play you if possible. I was hoping to get a chance to give you your first loss. :p Emphasis on chance.
 
I actually can play whenever. I'm on EST and I have to be up kind of early, so I don't really want to start a game any later than 12 EST. I think you're on the west coast, so that might not be late enough for you, but let me know.

Also, I guarantee you won't give me my first loss. But only because I lost to the Clippers the other day.
 
Well, I beat the Clippers, so maybe that bodes well for me... maybe.

I highly doubt I can play before midnight Eastern. I've got a couple things to do and then I'm going to the gym around 9:30 Eastern. There is a chance I can make it home and shower in time to play by midnight, but I can't say for sure.

I have problems with insomnia and my sleep schedule has been messed up lately. No sleep the night before last; slept from 8 A.M.-4 P.M. today. What about tomorrow? I'll be available all night except for the hours of 9-11 Eastern.

today was my first day playing online and i have some questions. i dont have live gold but i redeemed a 48 hr trial code and played a few ranked team up games. i won 2, lost 1 and the other players disconected for another 2 games......yet my win % is still 0 and everything else on my player card is 0 except for my grade. do i need a gold membership for my ranked matches to actually count?
 
I just got done playing the Wizards and I welcomed back my long lost friend Greg Oden who was injured in my very first game against Matt Young. Oden came to dominate in his return and lead me to a 13 point victory putting up 30 points 12 boards 5 dimes and 4 blocks!

If anyone else is on tonight and would like to take me on let me know.

Greg Oden killed me in the paint. I managed to keep Roy and Aldridge quiet but Oden just did whatever the hell he wanted in the paint.

GG Franky, oh and thanks for returning me the ball at the start of the 3rd quarter....I was reading your message when I was called for the 5 sec violation. Also, I was not going to quit....I got pissed off on one play that went bad and in the middle of my anger I went nuts and press some buttons by accident.

My god....I can't hit a god dam 3 pointer if my life depended on it.....4 of 31 ?!?!?! and a bunch of them were wide open looks, how the heck am I suppose to survive if one of the main offensive options that the Wiz have is practically crippled. Another thing that pissed me off is that the double team option in the defensive settings is not working at all !! It lets you choose the amount of defensive pressure on a certain player yet when you choose the double team option nothing happens.


I'll be playing against WeavShow later tonight....that's probably another beating I'm gonna get right there.

Injuries are fucked in this game. Oden was supposed to be out for the year and only missed 3 or 4 games. Pau Gasol got injured for my Lakers (out 4 games), missed the one game that I played with Franky which was disconnected, and then he was back so he technically missed no games.
 
So I tried to play both GoodFella and XXXplosive tonight, but for some reason Live wouldn't let me connect to them. I kept getting an error message telling me to go to the online FAQ. After doing a little searching on the internet, I found something that told me to enable UPnP on my router, so I did, and it SEEMED like maybe it made a difference. I didn't get to test it with anybody I know it wasn't working with, but before every now and then the same error would pop up when it was searching for a match, and I found 5 or 6 after I changed that with no problem.

If not, I'll have to hope somebody else can come up with a solution...

And Matt, I'll actually be home during the day tomorrow, but not in the evening. You probably won't be able to play, but I'd be around until about 5:30 EST.

Injuries are messed up in online leagues. Oden was supposed to beout for the season and only missed 3 games. Also, Gasol was injured in one of my games and was supposed to miss 4. He was out for the first try of my game with Franky which the 2K servers disconnected, and then when we replayed it, his injury had vanished so he missed no games.

Okay. If this was last week, I'd be available at that time, but I'm not sure now due to the aforementioned sleep issues. If I am awake before then, I'll message you.

No problem on giving the ball back in the third I figured it was my fault anyways. Also I have a TERRIBLE time hitting threes online for some reason. In the coaching settings I swear it says you can double team players but it never works. Good game though.

Thanks again. Also, after searching around I just learned that the double teaming option is disabled during online matches.

Did they give a reason behind it? That seems very odd that they would disable that so there must be a reason. That makes a lot of sense now as to why it never worked, I guess I wont be messing with that again.

LB works fine but when you want to set it on a specific player It's not allowed
 
Ok, since I didn't get any replies from the previous users even though their profile says that they've been active on Live I went ahead and dropped them from the league. Dunno why the hell they joined if they don't participate at all. Anyways...

I just finished my game with the Nuggets and it was a blast. I lost 136-131 and the fourth quarter was one of the funnest I've ever had in a basketball game. He was up by nine at one point then committed an open lane foul or something like that. I got a free throw and possession. I turned it into a four point play and that put me in the rest of the way. I was starting to get a lot of lag towards the end but my opponent said he didn't notice anything. Anyways it wasn't bad besides the shot I missed with Bayless that seemed to lag right at his release, he probably would have won anyways. I really don't have the players to keep in these games on the road. Also a note to future opponents ODEN went off again. Bayless I think had 26 and 20!

I can't remember the guys name but I definitely would not use a mic while playing this opponent. He talks A LOT, some of it is trash talk and the rest is well whatever. I wouldn't say it's annoying at all just distracting if you like to concentrate in these games, and if you have a sub-par team that's probably something you'll need to do to stay competitive. I found it almost hilarious that the first thing he said to me is that I was going down. It would have been entertaining if it wasn't a league game. Anyways, I was down by double digits and I think unplugging my mic really kept me in the game. Anyways it was a good game and I'd love to play with you anytime, it was a high scoring affair that was VERY fun.

EDIT: The opponent was Dudizzel or FoolishPenny, so good game buddy. If you ever want to play again let me know, maybe we can score even more.
 
Haha very nice analysis of our game and I don't know why everyone turns off their mic when they're talking to me because I always find a way to lead people into terrible runs. When we were talking, I believe it was an 8-0 run I went on when I already had the lead. Then I hear your mic shatter of and you left the chat. Talking doesn't really distract me, so don't worry its not a tactic. Regardless, it was a fun game and I only saw a lag moment with that shot by Bayless but I had the game at the time with that 9-0 run with a minute left. Good game, nonetheless, now who's next? LOL

Yeah I didn't think you were trying to distract me at all, more or less I was saying that you could use it as a tactic because it works. I'm glad I decided to disconnect from the chat however because it turned into a really fun game after that. Yeah and that moment with the lag on the Bayless shot is really the only thing that effected the score, there was more lag through out the quarter but that really didn't effect anything.
 
LOL yeah, sounds like we have the same suggestion-- don't put your headset on against dudedizzle. Personally, I just find it annoying because he calls shenanigans. I played 3 games against him and taking the headset off just makes things flow better, haha.

Anybody up for a game tonight? Haven't played in a while. Juan or XXXPlosive, if either of you are around sometime tonight I THINK I might've fixed what was preventing us from connecting. In 10 or 15 connections since then I haven't hit the same problem, although I can't be sure it's fixed until I try to connect to someone I know it wouldn't connect to before. But I'd love to play anybody I haven't played yet.

I'm the Mavs, by the way.
 
Alright I'm signed up, I can play til I have to go to work tomorrow at 5, so I'll check every now and then from around 11 to 5 central time

I was wondering the same thing. I know Juan is devoted, and we have some good players who are as well- myself included- but I checked on the league in-game the other night and there are 4 vacant teams, plus I haven't gotten to play anyone in weeks.

Maybe things will pick up after the holidays. Anyone who has unplayed games with the Lakers, let me know if you want to play.

Sorry for not being more active guys, It's just that with Xmas / new year craze I wasn't playing much on my 360 but I'll be available to play some games over the weekend. I just have to practice a bit since I haven't played 2K9 in weeks, but I should be able to get some games out of the way starting Saturday.
 
I'd still like to play. I (the Mavs) know I haven't played the Lakers or the Wizards yet, and obviously a bunch of others too. I'm going away tomorrow for the weekend, but I'd play a game tonight if anyone is around.
