CAG NCAA Tourney Talk

PRINCETON! The Tigers will win it all, and bring not only academic respect to the Ivy Leauge, but athletic respect as well.

(seriously, I'll stop watching after the 2nd round when the Tigers get beat... there's hopes of winning the 1st round game, but not extreme advancement)
Great idea.
Too bad I know nothing about basketball.
Thats the best thing about the tourney is that it never plays out like it should, so all knowledge is pretty much worthless. Its one gigantic crap shoot. The only thing that is constant is that the #1 seeds win their first game, but after that, anything and everything can and has happened.

I picked them to reach the Sweet 16
It wont let me enter??
says go to pools main page?? help
Hmmm, does that come up right after clicking on the link? If not, at what step does it come up? When I click on it, it takes me to our CAG Tourney home page. From there, click on Go To Entry Form. Put in your name and your email address, then just click on the teams you pick to win. After the whole bracket is filled out and you entered the tiebreaker points, just click on Submit towards the bottom of the page and you should be entered.
STANFORD/ST. JOE'S/UCONN !

and TCNJ!

haha That's where I go to school, we are in D3 and pretty much suck anyways
Rowan will take TCNJ any day!!!
(Both places where I served time, I mean went to school, along with P-Ton and even though I failed miserably; it still holds a place in my heart)

Oh, and come on, lets get some more people entered. Even if you know squat about college basketball, this is just a free, friendly pool. Join up for the bragging rights and trash talking alone. :)

it gives me this "

Sorry, you must access the entry form from your pool's main page."

I dunno

I haven't followed college basketball since I graduated in 02, but I'll still enjoy the games. I may even attend some of the games this weekend at HSBC in Buffalo. Who to root for, so many teams. I may just have to go with the Jaspers of Manhatten just because they're the only team I've seen play, and they're Jaspers. Some day Canisius, some day.

How can you not know anything about basketball - your like 7 feet tall?

Anyway, I hate college sports.

Same here. How about we do one of these for the NHL playoffs later on? :D
m_d_amore - I cant duplicate your error so I am not for sure what is going on. Instead of going through the link I provided, try this one:

http://www.customsportspools.com/cgi-bin/ncaapicks.pl

Just make sure everything is filled out completely before submitting. If that still does not work, fill out a bracket at espn.com and then email it to me at [email protected], so I can just post it on there myself.
nothing iguess it wasn't meant to be

Feel free to send me your picks and I can fill it out for you. I would hate to see you not get a chance to be in just because of some screw up with the site.

I'm in. I guess I am one of the few CAGs who is a die hard college basketball fan (NBA can blow it out their ass). I of course chose my hometown heroes the Longhorns since there is no money on the line. I think UConn will end up winning it though. I think UT will be damn near unstoppable if we do make it to the Final Four though since we would have homecourt advantage in San Antonio practically. I did put IF though because we would have to go through Princeton (always a underdog threat), North Carolina (best starting 5 in the country), Mississippi State (How the hell was Baylor bad last year with Roberts, Lucas, and Taylor?), and the team everyone loves or loves to hate, I'm the latter, Duke. Sorry I went on a little rant there, but I love March Madness.
ok, i'm in, even though my alma mater (Mississippi State) will probably choke...
Damn right you're going to choke...to the Mighty UT.

P.S. When I signed up, there was only a pathetic 12 people that had signed up. We need to get this to at least 100 people, it is so much fun with a massive amount of people. Even if you don't know anything, go by which teams colors, mascot, name, etc. you like the best. There's nothing at stake and who knows you could pick an upset that no one else has picked.

Hey CheapyD, if we do pretty good how about a free game for all particapants :)
Damn right you're going to choke...to the Mighty UT.
Well, like you said, UT's got a tough road ahead of them, as does Mississippi State. (I defy anyone who argues that the Atlanta bracket isn't the toughest.) I still picked State to go all the way though, and while I really want to talk all kinds of trash, I don't want to look like an ass when that doesn't happen. :)

Badgers are going to go farther than people think. They got screwed with their seed, but they play in Milwaukee their first two games. Gotta love two "home" games to start the tourney.

Only 15 people right now, and this is free(key word for me), hopefully we can get a few more people.

I don't know much about college basketball, so I'm hoping that someone makes some bad picks to make me look good.

If we get up to 50 and Cheapy cannot give anything out, I can throw in a cheap sealed game from either PS2, XBOX or GC , coming out of my yet to be played pile of games. So for those interested in trying to get a free game, lets get some CAGers entered in here.

m_d_amore - You are still welcome to email me your picks if you like.

Its Pitts year baby. Shafting them a number 3 seed and having them play wisconsin in state won't keep them out of the final four.
Has anyone noticed anything funny about CheapyD's picks?
Other than he has Misssippi State going to the championship after being eliminated, nope haven't noticed anything else... :?

Apparently, he's betting that Cincinatti will beat Mississippi State but then come down with some sort of team-wide case of influenza or food poisoning and be unable to play in the final game. MSU will then have to take their place. Kinda going out on a limb there, Cheapy, but I guess it's just as possible as anything else happening in the tournament... :)
Has anyone noticed anything funny about CheapyD's picks?
My selection process is very scientific.
Its called "pick the teams as fast as possible since you have no idea what you are doing".

Or NBA playoffs, which is coming up pretty soon...

But I still want to know how MissSt will win the game between Cincinati and Maryland. ;)

Haha yup. I just did that myself. Went through the whole list picking who had the higher number. Let's go Duke!

Move the mouse, click at random. Chaos theory.
NCAA--does this culminate in the World Series?
Hey, like Keno, there should be a prize for making *no* successful choices.

Oh, yeah...they are that good!
Sure, if you want to change that, please go ahead...pick me a winner.
