I'm new here but I've had it explained to me that once a phantom account is gone, it's gone for good. For shared accounts you should be ok if the email account and password for that account is still fine.

@clone, thanks for adding NFS, would you mind adding its the DLC ? Just incase ppl think I'm buying the actual game which I'm not ;)

Do I need to deactivate the system though in order for me to redownload games from shared accounts? This blows and I don't know what to do (tried the hair dryer method and it doesn't work).

Yes the ps3 needs to be deactivated as its tying up one of the 2 accounts. If you can't do it from the ps3 you'll have to do a hard reset online, just make sure the other person you share the account with knows what's going on.

yes that is the rule
you need to deactivate it because it is tied to the system.

You can't remotely deactivate one system, but you will be able to remotely deactivate 6 months from the purchase all the systems, but you will be needing to contact the other reseller so that he knows.

Also I want to say this:

I've typed on the playstation store with a USB Keyboard and it works I didn't know that could be done.

Fantastic alternative although I preferred inputting with my ps3 controller.

Truth is I only have shared accounts back when it was still for 5 systems, and not 2. I was thinking of deactivating all systems... but does that include the Vita too, which I own?

well the truth is that if you are going to do that you will need to contact all the other 4 persons because they will be have their accounts deactivated right away if they ever got the automaitc password on.

Hey guys, im trying to make a Far Cry 3 group for 3 of my friends, now i would send all our moneys to 1 guy so he can transfer it to his paypal, but the local bank transactions don't work at weekends and tomorrow (holidays) so i would potentionally miss out on the Far Cry deal. So i was woundering if there is someone out there who could buy us Far Cry 3, once we are able to put our money on paypal, (in about 2 days) after the holidays, my friend will send you the money and you will then give us the account :) I would sweeten up the deal with some extra cash for your work.

Not sure if we're on the right page, but I was never a host in those shared accounts I partially owned. My PS3 just died and I'm just hoping if I could download those non-phantom games whenever I get a new system.

Ok here's the situation. Your phantom stuff is gone, nothing you can do about it. The stuff you have on a shared account is salvageable but the content is likely tied to the owners accounts. Your share is tied to your dead PS3 and if you want to deactivate it remotely, you are forced to deactivate EVERY account that shares the content. Say 5 people have a share, the other 4 all have the account active so 4/5 of the shares are active leaving only 1 left which is now stuck on your dead console. That makes 5/5. If you just get a new PS3, then your trying to make it 6/5 which isn't allowed. Hence realit3y is right, the only way you will get your share back is to wipe all accounts back to 0/5 and for everyone to create accounts to download the content again.

And clone, my NFS group may have to be cancelled. It was dependent on me buying an online pass which I did today from a fellow CAG but its already been redeemed/no longer valid. I've either been ripped or online passes are region locked.

So I have to tell 4 guys (who were part of a 5 man share) in this thread to deactivate one specific account, create a new one so I could just retrieve my share? And I can't just deactivate my dead unit in order not to hit "6/5" and reset it to 4/5 until I get a new unit?
