Thanks for posting this up and continuing the fantastic CagCast tradition!

It is great to hear you two back at it again, the stories from the clogged toilets to the games you completed was great. You guys make me feel better because I hardly ever finish any game either (though you both of course still have me beat for 07).

Personally, I think it is time for CagCast: Cribs for everyone, I am sure everyone else would be interested to see the now clean windows, the room of emptiness, and the Shipwrecks' dual x360s.

Downloading now! I'm so anxious to listen tomorrow! I'll have to wait until the morning, it's way too late right now!

I wonder who the winners were!

Not a moment too soon. I'm about to drive 1.5 hours to work in Gettysburg today, and I didn't feel like listening to Mastertape Theater over and over. In fact Fridays might work out as I usually waited until then anyways. Howard 100 Monday through Thursday, CAGcast Friday FTW.

All the hate with KUF: Circle of Doom makes me sad. It's a great game that follows in the footsteps of Phantasy Star Online. And, it's a spin-off. They are still developing a Dynasty Warriors-type KUF for the 360 as well.

I hope Operation Darkness makes it stateside. Seems hot to death. ;)

Cheapy -- the TV brand is Olevia (not Oleva as mentioend by Wombat).

They've actually been around for a while now...I think they started off as a "no-name" brand, and their big moment came during Black Friday '05 with a special deal at Fry's. Nowadays you can find them in Target and even CC.

They're actually hitting it off quite well...they're now the official sponsor of ESPN, and you can see them during their national broadcast / sportscenter commercials some times. (They'd say...this is brought to you by...Olevia...etc)

Good to have the cagcast back! And I thought you guys were taking it easy this week since I didn't find a link Thursday morning :0

*I loved Tron 2.0 for PC just because they had an awesome Lightcycle multiplayer game.

*Burnout Paradise does not make you roam to search for an event. There is an event at almost all intersections.

Cheapy,
Devil May Cry 4 has a 5gb install to eliminate all load times.

I also agree with you on burnout paradise losing the burnout feel.
They took the best part of the game out(Crash Mode)

Yeah CheapD sure found a way to change the reason for the install on Devil May Cry 4. I was listening in amazement that he injected his own reason. Capcom said it was to eliminate load times. Other PS3 games have offered this also.

I do agree that I will miss Crash Mode in Burnout Paradise. Showtime Mode looks like fun but loses that puzzle element that Crash Mode had.

Too bad about MSoft not liking the name Foreplay. Maybe you can use the Shipwrecks logo I made for the podcast?

woo, new show finally! gawd, the poop stories made me gag, lol

congrats to all the winners and congrats about the gamerpics, Cheapy. :D

Cheapy D,

If you want to finish Halo 3, then let me know. We'll get some 4 player co-op going. My gamertag is aplusjimages. peace

Welcome back guys. Wombat with much respect. But I am sorry, I am with Cheapy on this, the fact that the mentioned companies pulled out of or away from EGM the way they did is almost like admitting guilt. On top of that, what does Ubisoft have to be upset about? According to many sources on the internet, Assasins Creed did so well that it saved them from being absorbed into EA or another large publisher.

What did I say on the show? Didn't I say the blu-ray drive reads slower than a standard DVD drive? What do you think causes load times?
Other PS3 games have offered this as an option, but this is a required 5GB install.

You looking forward to DMC4 Cheapy? Also i'm listening to the CAGcast now and I think your mother in law is evil for not washing your office windows lol and Tai crying "Grandma get on that i'm doin a show here" haha. I sent you a thank you for the new CAGcast message on xbox live because I haven't heard from the CAGcast in a while.

Cheapy, you are right regarding the slower BD drive read speeds, but what I think Jackal was pointing out was that with this install, there are NO load times in the game, opposed to the 360 version, which has loads varying from 5-10 seconds (IGN) or 3-6 (1UP?) which is a definite plus...

Also, there aren't that many games that require an install, so I don't think space should be an issue unless you have a 20GB unit, in which case, its time to delete that awesome Kane and Lynch demo...

I'm glad devs are taking advantage of the HD space on both consoles, I just wish my 360 atleast gave me the option of sticking the game on my empty Elite drive...

Cheapy, fyi, Howard interviewed Joey Buttafuco this week about HIS porn tape with his wife that was "leaked". i guess you should check that out cuz they said the wife is hawt, lol...

Hey Cheapy, thanks for answering my Transformers CAGbag question and yes I do agree that the movie being more human based is pretty shitty but I really do like the detail given to the CGI Transfrormers.

Yeah there's no reason EA can't make a great arcade football game (except of course well they are EA.) Hell just put out 1995's Madden with nicer graphics. Look at what made SuperTecmo Bowl fun. ....Actually EA does have a Madden game in the arcades. Maybe that's all they need to do.

Burnout 3 demo? ...yeah kind of kool, but I'm not sure I can really get past the open world stuff. Races are hard to follow without them big blinking arrows. Driving back to find your event seems like it will get old quickly. Who knows where your race started at even. It all means a lot more memorization up front. It adds up to a higher learning curve. It seems like you have do a lot more work just to the same fun you were having in previous games. I think the open world stuff is going to weed out the more casual players of the previous games. It's more intimidating. I don't think 3d interfaces on pcs have taken off for a reason. It's faster just to use menus and lists. Seems like the same thing here.

Cheapy, I'm with you on the NFL Tour demo ... I tried it out and it seems so absolutely horrible it's almost funny ... also can't wait for your upcoming appearance on Evil Avatar Radio :D

Dark Messiah isn't "like Oblivion, but...". It's NOT like Oblivion. It was never TRYING to be Oblivion. It's a fantasy action RPG from a first-person perspective. If you go in expecting Oblivion, of COURSE you'll be disappointed. It's not that kind of RPG.

Just to defend myself on the round of COD4 that Cheapy beat me, I was gone for nearly half the match because our pizza arrived.

Unfortunately, by my math, two hands for half the match and no hands for half the match averages out to be one hand for the whole match, so I guess he still beat me.

Wombat - you should try and get a copy of Anno 1701 - I think it's one of the best games on the DS.

I wonder if we'll see unofficial REZ sticks for the 360 pop up.
Also what's up Microsoft's ass to complain about the word "foreplay"?
It's not like anyone can read the damn thing when the gamerpic is the size of a stamp on the tv.

1up stated the PS3 version has 2 second load times while the 360 has 3 second ones, there are still load times on the PS3 version.

From James Mielke's blog at 1up...

For those of you asking me if there are any noticeable differences or trade-offs between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of DMC4, you'll be glad to know (or not) that there aren't any. OK, if you were to turn on both versions and just let the demo trailer run automatically, you'll find that the PS3 version is sharper, thanks undoubtedly to using the Blu-ray format over the DVD format, even if both games run in 720p, but once you start the actual game they're identical.

I'll leave the in-depth visual analysis for some upcoming coverage we have planned for DMC4, but a couple other points: Xbox 360 controls feel really good, especially since every 360 controller has the force-feedback. If you've imported a Dual Schock 3 from Japan you're all set, but if you're one of the many without a DS3 you'll be missing out a little. The PS3 has not-that-noticeably shorter load times between screens, but that's like 2 seconds versus the Xbox 360's 3 second loads. Seriously, count out 3 seconds. The PS3, however, forces you to install the game on your harddrive, a not insignificant process. I don't know why you're made to do this

Hey Cheapy, thanks for answering my Transformers CAGbag question and yes I do agree that the movie being more human based is pretty shitty but I really do like the detail given to the CGI Transfrormers.
I didn't like the human based part of Transformers the movie either. I grew up watching the cartoons, and IMO no movie version could ever compare anyway.

What I'm still waiting for is a Voltron movie. It's supposedly in the works. I'm not sure if it was Lion Force or the vehicle version though. Voltron was a good mix between Robot action & the human characters. I'm hoping it will make good translation if it does make it to the big screen.

Have you guys watvhed the old transformer shows lately... I can't believe I watched them as a kid. They are absolutley horrible, and I don't understand what most wanted in a live action movie other than Robots bashing each other. I will say there definitely wasn't enough of that.

Cheapy, although you are right about the blu-ray drive being slower, that is not the reason for the install. The reason for the install is to drastically lower load times. According to Podcast Beyond from IGN, they play tested the PS3 version and the 360 version and according to them it all but eliminates load times while the 360 takes 7- 10 seconds.

That's what I'm saying, there wasn't really enough story to go Live action, and basically that why we got a human based movie instead as someone pointed out earlier.

All I can say is "Voltron, Defender of the Universe"...................................

Okay I watched Hetcliff the cat too ; )

the load times are 3 seconds on the 360 version, the game caches to the hard drive on 360 to speed up time. The ps3 still loads at 2 seconds, the install IS because the bluray drive is slow.

Not only did I send 5 of my friends UGO's game blog, but I asked each one of them to invite five friends as well, but in order for my chances to be a bit better, I told them to tell them to post dookie pics!

As far as Soul Calibur 4 is concerned, The one exclusive character per version is the same thing that happened with soul calibur 2. My question is, Whill the alternate costume for Darth Vader be him before the black suit?

i dont know if this was adressed earlier but in burnout there are events at every light. in the demo they just gave a couple, but rest assured they will be much closer and much more in the final. and the whole map for the final game is pretty massive.

It's amazing how many people continue to say this. Are you people morons? Do you read what you type? Hello, they have to make you install it to the HD so you don't whine and piss your pants when your blu-ray drive is too slow and you have to sit through load times up the anus.

Hey guys, I was just thinking that maybe Ubisoft isn't sending you free stuff because you keep pronouncing their name wrong.

Say it with me- You-be-soft.
