amiibo is just a brand for all their NFC items. Cards, figures, plushies, doesn't matter.
They are also planning to release over 400 Animal Crossing amiibo cards, so have fun collectors..

Also that Pokemon Go mobile game is being marketed towards 20-30 year olds. The trailer only had 1 kid, the rest were young adults.

Drive Club sold over two million units in the eight months before the PS+ Edition came out, so the negativity around the launch didn't seem to hurt it that much.

I think they're taking away the PS+ version after three months as a prelude to making the game F2P or having the full game as a PS+ title.  There is a lot of DLC and more coming, so they might feel giving away the whole base game will make them more money now it's been out a whole year.

Besides, if anybody is going to stream Tony Hawk on Twitch, it's gotta be Shipwreck, but ONLY the Dreamcast version.

I agree with Wombat, CheapyD has to get a Subaru. I'm just surprised that CheapyD bought a house, and pretty much inside a forest! This does run contrary to what he said last year when the family DIDN'T want to live in such a remote enough location because of commuting. Maybe you're actually close to enough to where Brian Crecente is or something. No matter, looks like a great place for exercise, as long as one takes allergy medications.

 
Lego Dimensions is actually the first "toys to life" game I want to play, I've been a fan of doctor who for years and this might be the first good doctor who game. Even though He only gets one level you can play as him and all 12 other doctors in all the other levels. They've also never made a doctor who lego set so the $30 is worth it to me for the toys alone.

 
Cheapy, I'm not entirely sure of the nature of your concerns about Audi, but this Reddit post made some good points: http://www.reddit.com/r/tdi/comments/3m8gyh/buy_back_programs_are_not_unprecedented/cvecwzj. TLDR: even if you aren't interested in diesel, you need to ask yourself if you want to make a big investment like that with a company that has deliberately defrauded it's customers. I was considering an Audi for my next purchase, but it's looking less likely every day.

That said, I wouldn't walk away from a Lambo if someone tossed they keys to me :)

Did you see him on Cluesless Gamer with Conan? He had no soul, you could see it in his soulless eyes! THPS5 just looks so bad on so many levels though, when I watched Clueless Gamer I left the video somehow with even less interest in the game than I had coming into it! The graphics, gameplay, and just everything about the game looks awful.

 
Go ahead and get the Audi. They're great cars and this Dieselgate thing is being way overblown. I, for one, am proud of them pulling one over on the EPA over such a stupid regulation. At least their deception didn't kill anyone. Besides, you're not even looking for a diesel. I'd buy another Audi/VW in a heartbeat.

On another note, I'm really tempted to pick up that Portal Lego Dimensions set. I have no interest in the game--I just want the LEGO Portal toys. Yeah, I might be a sucker.

 
Hate to point this out Wombat (ok, actually I don't), but it comes off just a tad hypocritical to tell Cheapy to just disregard his principles because "you weren't buying a diesel anyways" when you have tweeted out boycotts for companies/people for anti LGBT policies.  I mean,hey you're not LGBT just enjoy that Chic-Fil-A or whatever!

Noooooo, no way.  The put-the-entire-game-on-a-figure concept is admittedly pretty cool on paper, but Nintendo's having a hard enough time manufacturing more than seventeen Amiibos per run as-is when they don't actually do anything important.  If this keeps up into the era of the NX, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot by making a game that's a sure sell to at least a loyal niche a pain in the ass for said niche to get its hands on.

I personally couldn't care less about the toys-to-life nonsense, but I'd slay my own parents to get my hands on the Interceptor Spy Hunter Car for LEGO Whosits.  That's a thing that I've needed on my shelf since before I was even buying my own shelves.

Also, the dulcet reading of the "Ooh!" from my dumb tweet will become my phone's notification sound shortly.

 
Cheapy, one electric car you might want to consider is the Chevrolet Volt. I just got one last month and I love it. It's an electric engine but if you use up all the battery it has an on board gas powered generator. So you want to use electricity as much as possible for the savings and environment but you can drive as long as you want on gas. If you ran solely on gas its mileage is comparable to a Prius.

The 2016 model is the new redesign which is better in every way.

Cheapy, completing the first Taken King mission on a character is what unlocks the mission for their third subclass. (if you want force lightning for your warlock then get your ass to Mars)

 
Cheapy, The Taken King is available on the Xbox Marketplace as a $40 addon that's just TTK expansion and nothing else.  It took me a while to find, and I was about to not buy it at all because I didn't want to spend $60 on shit I already had, but I did eventually find it.  I kept clicking on everything that advertised TTK and eventually found it.  I can't give you a better guide to finding it because I seemed to stumble across it, but it does indeed exist.

 
Wombat wasn't being hit on. I think he's actually a magnet for White Collar crime. First his daughter is a master forger. Now somebody is hitting on him for details... All we need is at least a third time to confirm it.

 
I think a Rocksteady Wonder Woman game would make a lot of sense with the new movie coming out in a couple of years.  You could throw in the Greek Gods in a video game which would allow different environments and enemy types.  Also the problem with lots of DC characters are the villains get pretty obscure once you get past the first couple most people know about. At least with Wonder Woman people know the backstory characters ahead of time.

 
I knew a developer on Tony Hawk (back when they first moved to the motion controller board gimmick), and he mentioned that Hawk is VERY INVOLVED. He apparently does stop by the developer studio to check gameplay and give his input.

Not sure if this is still true today, but one would think Tony did see this game, mid-production, and approved it. So maybe it's amazing and everyone just sucks at playing it? :joystick:

Comparing olli olli to Tony hawk is like comparing ea's NHL game to ea's 3 on 3 hockey game that was released years ago. I'm not a big skating fan but it's sad to see the downfall of this series.

Wombat was right. You can play the terrorist hunt playlist alone (lone wolf) or just with friends. You just change the mode after your friends join the party. Still not sure if there is enough "meat on the bones" to buy it, but it was a lot of fun to play the beta.

 
I think these days voice actors do deserve more, especially when the work put into these games are so much more as opposed to Max Payne. And then I hear the argument about the lack of labor protections for game developers, who are fired at the drop of a pin when their use is over. It's not an either/or case. Fair labor and fair wages are what our American ancestors fought and died for, and we as Americans (or denizens of a developed world, for that matter) have to remember that.

 
Anyone else hate how Cheapy goes, "Uhhhhh bup bup bahhhhh..." while searching for where they are on the outline for something new to talk about? Ha, idk why but it really irks me every single time. It's like any other noise you hate hearing to the point where you anticipate it. Pet peeves, bad habits, blah.

Just like how Shipwreck always hesitates when he's introduced, like he's not sure how to respond. Until eventually a meek, "hellooo.." eventually comes through xD

I think this could be the future. What better way to combat piracy than to have a necessary object that can't easily be duplicated? For a while I've wondered if cartridges were going to be the next step on a home console (and, really, I'm probably just speaking of Nintendo at this point), but a figure or device with dedicated NFC communication could solve a few issues...

And before Cheapy or Ship start talking about how Nintendo screwed up Amiibo launches...Nintendo did what Nintendo does - they drove demand through the roof.  It's rare to hear a podcast that doesn't reference Amiibo or the hunt for Amiibo, and this is a year after the first wave. The scarcity of some characters were by design.  Would a company rather have a bunch of stock sitting on store shelves that doesn't sell, or would they rather have pent up consumer demand that eventually gets satisfied?

I'll just be over here waiting on my 16bit Super Mario Amiibo that comes with Super Mario Maker 2 for NX (a home/portable hybrid with specs on par with current gen consoles).

I don't get it - if you have demand, it's best to NOT SELL product? :whistle2:k I understand, "let's drive up demand!" but what about profit? Why not make customers wait for a month, versus 12? This is less "Nintendo is a GENIUS!" and more "Nintendo blows at planning these things". :error:

I just don't see the logic in more demand than sales. Sales is the lifeblood of your company, and your company will have costs and expenses - your logic of driving up demand seems to stem from a consumer point of view, rather than a business point of view.

Nintendo will NOT flood the market to meet demand; is selling under demand a good thing? When you mass produce these toys, you're saving $$$ with each additional Amiibo you make, while also selling more Amiibos. Maybe you don't want to overstock shelves, but understocking isn't the business equivalence of GENIUS. It's more like incompetence. The sweet spot is not where you think it is. :joystick:
