When it comes to getting deals on retro video games you might also want to check out the vendors at conventions on the last few hours of the last day. See what their price is and then haggle them down to something decent. Their prices might be eBay prices, but just remind them that they don't need to pay eBay fees here, or bother listing/shipping it. Some vendors won't haggle, but then you can just go to another booth.

Also, trading stuff you find at yard sales that you necessarily don't want or need because you already have it is a good idea too. You can then take that thing you got for a dollar to a used game store, or trade with a friend for the thing you want.

Ship's retrogame buying tips are solid. If you're looking for a specific title, save the time and just buy it off eBay. But prepare to do a lot of legwork for the increasingly rare finds.
 
Got a documentary Watch This Bitches for you guys I think you'll like and it's on Netflix: Revenge of the Electric Car

It's a great behind the scenes look at how GM, Nissan, and Tesla started making electric cars. It's fun and informative and has a lot of surprise celebrity cameos.

I will not walk by and hear you badmouth American Dad when you guys continue to watch the garbage that is Family Guy. American Dad is just soo much better, character AND story-driven, and does not rely on throwaway gags like FG. I cannot stand watching Family Guy because of its ADHD nature. What kind of cartoon can give you a satisfying story about shoplifting from the Gap, lampooning the cult that is the other half the Today show, journey to a post-apocalyptic wasteland where Jesus and his anti-Christ fight to the death, and not to mention that Santa Claus launching a bloody war!

Anyway, Shipwreck's seat story is just ridiculous. I don't know why he doesn't just order a few La-Z-Boys from Monroe, Michigan and call it a day. Surely you and your colleagues can design and fabricate the ultimate home theater seat in the same amount of time your chairs should've come.

Retro games are indeed hard work, Shipwreck's tips are right. You will also be dealing with resellers up the wazoo. I'm happy that I have a working knowledge of Japanese in order to enjoy the games I buy off of eBay for cheap. It also helps that most Famicom games don't require any fuency of the language as well. AV modding my Nintendo Family Computer is one of the best projects I've ever done, and I can even play American NES games with a $20 adapter. I don't need my NES anymore.

Wombat, you should be watching more PBS, as CheapyD does. I once saw a really crazy Nature documentary where this Korean dude sat in various enclosures observing the Siberian wilderness for tigers. He only ate rice and salt for a crazy extended period of time. He did manage to see quite a few tigers, including their offspring, but of course he also saw poachers. Just not at Comic-Con. I saw the prices at a booth right in front of my boss', and they were more ridiculous than eBay's.

 
I felt like I was the only one who didn't like the Star Wars Battlefront gameplay but then I heard Jeff Gerstmann on the Giant Bombcast echo my thoughts. Also, like Cheapy, I don't think there will be enough there to justify a $60 purchase.
 
Wombat's version of Assassin's Creed is totally Hitman. I understand wanting more than just "one area" set in an amusement park, but one of the biggest things with the new Hitman is the huge areas - Get IO on the horn Wombat and pitch them.

I don't remember if you guys (Cheapy, Wombat, Shipwreck) played X-Com: Enemy Unknown, but I think that style would make a perfect G.I. Joe game.  Maybe have some vehicle piloting/driving missions thrown in as well.  I think that would be an amazingly awesome game.  Can we start a petition or something?

 
I have been listening to the podcast for quite a while, and this is the first time I remember Cheapy mentioing that he went to University of Rochester.  I am U of R, class of '98.  Maybe this explains why I listen to this podcast, despite the fact that 99% of my gaming time is spent playing NHL 16.

I really like the Transformers game, and I think that if they could make a G.I.-Joe game like the old Arcade shooter with cleaned up graphics, made with Gen 1 or during the rise of Serpentor era characters, and toss in a few vehicle levels with cockpit views to shoot down some Cobra to mix up the linear action and I'd be good if this was a budget title. Granted that will never happen, but maybe something will, I just hope they don't screw it up. 

 
I thought a Rainbow Six style G.I. Joe game would make a lot of sense.  A Borderlands style Rpg would make for a cool G.I. Joe game.  You could simplify the skill tree to add more characters. 

New episodes of American Dad are being produced for TBS i believe this season.
