CAGer Traders Suck

Getting sick and tired of lowballers on CAG in the trading forum.
I came back to trade after a few months and I immediately realized why I don't trade here.
They expect me to trade my items for their items at a loss of at least $20 or more.

One offer was my demon's souls deluxe for $45 shipped. I said no and he told me the max he would give for it was $60. (Item normally sells for $85+)

I've had 4 lowballs within 2 days and this makes me very unhappy.

Yeah I have over 115 feedback on gametz.com which I use regularly and find it an overall better site for trading than CAG or goozex. I'm gonna quit trading on this site as it only gets me angry and pissed off. The other sections seem good though.

You invite offers that you may not like when you refuse to list a price, this is just as much of a faux pas as making a lowball offer. In fact, I know of many other trading forums that state you must list a price.

If you're looking for full value in cash then put it on ebay. I used to use GameTZ, the trades people would offer me over there were laughable. I froze my account there and never looked back.

Just ignore the lowballers. Some people think that just because they can get some games for cheap in the CAG lowballs, I should do the same. But if you wanna quit trading, good bye!

Well, people are generally trying to get things for less then retail in the trading forums. If they wanted to pay retail prices, they probably would have just gone out and bought it at a store.

Same goes for the other 100+ feedback users on here.

If there's no listed price, people will put out an offer and they have no way to figure out if it's a lowball or not. Funny how that works.

For the most value on a sale, they should go on eBay, Half.com, Amazon Marketplace or Craigslist. For something less than that, there's plenty of places to go, including here.

I listed InFamous about a month after I had purchased it. I waited around for the right offer, ignoring the lowballs

Price your stuff right/don't sell crap that nobody wants

Easy way to solve this is to list a price for each item on your tradelist. When you invite the ability for others to offer of course they are going to say a low price because, as others have said, this is cheapassgamer. Or you can counteroffer with something you will take for the item. If either of those options are too much for you then I think you should leave.
cry me a fucking river OP
That was terrible yet so very funny to me,and true. Either quit selling OP or just ignore them. Get some new material to complain about. :)

I don't mind "lowball" offers. What might be a lowball offer to you might not be to another person. It isn't like you're force to do the trade. I actually expect lowball offers, and counteroffers, since to me it's a negotiating process. Though few actually negotiate and just have one set price. If there is a price you have in mind, just list it at that, if not I take it the item is up for negotiation.

I get where the OP is comming from. Ive hit the same rut myself but I dont give up on the site as a whole.

It gets old when people ask you to check their list and if you pick out anything decently close to same value, they wont trade it.

Then you get the people that buy up clearance titles and pimp them as if they didnt get them there and want a billion times more than they paid...not saying we deserve it at what they paid but dont act like its gold.

Got someone on here that has a game I want thats 10 to 20 cash value....wanted my Infamous for it and when I asked what else they would throw in, I was scolded for wanting more in trade because their game was factory sealed and mine was "used"....either way..if you leave yourself open to be lowballed, this place will certainly take advantage of it.

There are plenty of good people here and if youre here long enough, youll see who's here to help fellow gamers and who's here to pop in and request help for that hot clearance title and never to be seen again.

WTF PEOPLES!!!

Basic fucking english!!!

Sorry, this is a little pet peeve of mine and I see CAGer all the fucking time. :)

As others have said, you are inviting the lowballing by not listing prices. If I see a trade list with no prices, I will often shoot a PM over to the person with a price that I would like to pay. If I see $40 next to the item, and I only wanna pay $15, I won't bother.

The only thing that sucks is that people feel the need to list games in their "collection" that are not for sale, but completely fuck up the search engine when you're looking for games. If the games are not for sale, take them off the fucking list. Open up a Word document and list your collection away. Don't put it in the trade section if you don't want to sell or trade them. This drives me nuts.

Speaking of the search engine, it sucks. I wish I could search complete terms (ex: Fear Effect 2) instead of the way it searches each individual word, giving you a bunch of results you don't want.

I am a buyer only and CAG sometimes bug me because people do not like to list prices, I mean I don't like quoting prices because of this exact problem, I mean I am here because I am cheap but at the same time, I don't want my cheap nature to insult another member, ya know, I mean I dunno how much your items are worth to you, for example.

I want WET for Xbox 360, someone has WET but no price, WET to me(based on reviews and my personal interest)is worth about $25.00 and I know I can't just go quoting this for a game that came out a couple of months ago, but that is the price I would quote and if I did quote it to someone whom is probably looking for $40.00, then one of two things will happen, actually one of three things.

1. Seller ignores my offer flat out.
2. Seller quotes me the $40.00 and I am taken by surprise and decline.
3. Seller is outright insulted by the $20.00 quote and probably ignores any future inquiries I have.

So why not just list a price and if the buyer thinks it is good then we can cut right to the chase and discuss payment and shipping, I mean it's like playing a bad guessing game where you have to guess the right answer or close enough to it where he/she can correct you without being insulted, it's kinda..... hard to do.

So basically, I avoid anyone selling items without a price listed.

You aren't alone. Everytime I see CAGer I facepalm myself.

I offer what something is worth to *ME*. I realize that sometimes people think something is worth whatever, but then they should probably stipulate a price and stick with it. I always feel torn about even offering when someone puts offers or something like that, but I figure I'll offer what it's worth to me and if they see it the same way then we're both happy. I certainly don't mean disrespect when I make an offer.

It's just what it's worth to me.
Hopefully you'll like the new CAG Marketplace better.
Oh, yeah! The CAG Marketplace! That thing that we were talking about in the chat room.. you mentioned it was launching "today or tomorrow, I'm not sure, but definitely sometime this week" about two weeks ago.

Starting to think it doesn't even exist.

That's definitely out of the norm for CAG.

I admit, I just made the whole thing up. It doesn't exist. I'm a compulsive liar and I can't help it! I'm going to be starting therapy 3x a week.

When I mentioned the "launch dates", I'm only passing on what I'm told from John. I'm not programming the damn thing and can only go by what I am told. In the future, I won't say anything until features are actually up and running on the site.

Probably better than getting raped on eGay because it sells for too cheap and the fucking fees yet the guy with 2 hrs left has people bidding left and right. WTF.

Ha, I do the same whenever I see a trade list that says "For Sell..."

Why are you expecting people to pay top eBay prices without getting any protection? In any case $60 is very fair; you can only get $85 for a sealed copy. Anyone with patience can get an opened copy in the $50-60 range on eBay.

This isn't GameStop (thank God). Prices aren't set in stone, you may or may not be getting a good deal/value for your trade.

LEARN TO NEGOTIATE.

CAGs come here because we love getting good deals on video games. This means different things to different people. Personally, I don't mind shelling out a bit more for a game, if I know it's helping out a fellow CAG and I know that the game is likely to be in good condition. However, that doesn't mean I'm interested in paying more than $20 or even cash at all.

If you think you're so high and mighty that you're offended every time someone else tries to look out for themselves, you probably shouldn't interact with the public at all.

PS: Seriously, do we need ad space to correct this?:
CAG = Cheap Ass Gamer (Correct)
CAGer = Cheap Ass Gamerer (Wrong)
