CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!

im still curious to know when we are advancing i would like to figure out if i can schedule in my first regular season game in or not. im very interested in week 2 and week 3 of my regular season games very early matchups that will tell me alot about my team.

yes but we are looking for a specific time of when we should advance to possibly schedule week 1 games for tommrow night if possible
 
I can give you a general time. But I can't swear I'll be available to advance us right at that exact instant. This is the life of being a spouse and a father. But I'll try to get us advanced around 10 PM EST on 12/29. Does that work for everybody?

All right, we have advanced to Week 1 of the regular season! I'm sure everybody will be thrilled to read that. Anyone who has been on autopilot, it's probably in your best interest to take yourself off autopilot. I've been getting reports that the CPU has actually been trading players on its own volition. Not sure if we want to do tradebacks in any of these situations, but it's definitely something to watch out for.

Week 1 games will be due by 1/2! Good luck to everyone in the new season, and play with honor and respect.
 
Could someone tell me who the Saints play? I will be home late tuesday then ill be around after 7:30pm est on wednesday. I'd like to play my week 1 game. I've been away visiting family.

slofton and I start our season off with a division rival game, looking forward to it.
 
Just got word that fsecreast is dropping from the league. So, I guess that means Cleveland will be open now too. Not really much to say about it. Just gotta keep moving.

so that will be 4 teams open then? Panthers, Browns, Chargers, Steelers?
 
well not many people will be interested in the panthers until this season passes becuz of the cap space.
browns wont be a bad option for someone he built a very nice team out of them. chargers arent that bad of a team and steelers well they are a little bit of a mess im sure we can get these teams filled

I would imagine that tradebacks would wreck havoc on the salary cap.
 
I havent gotten a chance to turn my team off auto pilot, ive been doing alot of moving for the new place, but i should be able to get my week 1 game in before the 2nd. I just have to check who im playing...

not really if u think about. the team that traded the person gets stuck with the bonus so they pay wut they would have had to pay anyways. only difference really is that the player they now have doesnt have a bonus in there contract becuz u already paid for bonus for every year already
 
Due by 1/2?

I'm starting to feel like people don't go out in this league. I'm more then sure half the people will be busy tomorrow and New Years Day itself. Not to mention the huge NFL games today and big college bowl games on Jan. 1. It'll be hard to schedule games during these times.

It was a standard 4 day advancement. Nothing more. Nothing less. If you want to convince some of the people in here that we're moving "too fast", be my guest. Should be a fun conversation.
 
In other news, it looks like we've got a replacement owner for the Steelers. Kaster's dad is going to take them. He's aware of their roster issues and wanted them anyway. Good luck to him there...and welcome to the league!

I'm pretty sure making the date any later would have led to a riot.

well u can play tonight u can play tomorrow before the big party and then at the party drink till u black out prolly puke a few times but keep drinking of course then wake up not remembering a damn thing be a little hungover or if ur like me not be hungover at all (got lucky with not getting hangovers) then that leaves the night of 1st to play and part of the night on the 2nd seems like more than enough time to get 45 minutes in to play a game. i know i will be busy on the first during the later part of the night but anything before 830 central pretty much works for me

I didn't say we were moving too fast. Maybe for Week 1 but I just think it's too shorthanded during this week.

There's only like 5 or 6 guys who constantly posts in this thread about advancing.

I think the 2nd is fine. Considering many people are also off work Tuesday (federal holiday) and maybe Monday I think it leaves plenty of opportunities to set an hour aside to get a game in.

Meant to answer this too. But yeah, free agency is totally open. He can sign whoever he needs. I can't say if the CPU has done anything to the roster yet. I know the Steelers only had something like 38 players...so you'd think the CPU would have signed somebody to fill in the roster. But then again, they only seem to do things when it'll piss somebody off, haha.
 
not a big deal if the computer signed anyone anyways they dont sign bonuses so its an easy cut and he will get his money back from the players the cup did sign

Did any trades go through? I know the CPU has been trying to make trades with people.
