It's the xp / quarter of a years receiving yards of one receiver that stood out to me personally, not the score. Bucs I pm'ed you about our game

your RB is fast as SHIT. And i sure as hell need vick and mccoy back going into the playoffs. brown fumbles way too much and my rookie qb just isnt good.

I really don't see what can be done about this. Is it lame to target only one receiver? Yes. And people do it in every single league (why hello, Mile High Von). It's why the notion that Madden is NOT an arcadey version of football cracks me up hysterically. It's just not feasible to request that people "only throw to ____ receiver X times per game". I'm at least thankful the score was respectful. Not sure how to regulate it any more than that.

He's got one of the better kickers in the game...no reason to not kick a 50 yard field goal. Quit out of the game and tell him to restart. He got away on a technicality last time. But that's definitely a strike.

Romo completed 18 passes, 11 of them were to Walker. If everyone else is covered and he's streaking down the sideline wide open, should I not throw to him? He's fast as shit, and a couple of those 50+ yard TDs were on drag routes where he caught the ball just past the line of scrimmage. I do appreciate you being rational about it.

And troy, you had a game last season where Calvin had 17 catches. The record book also shows he had 360 yards in a game, which I'm guessing was the same one. But that's somehow different, right?
 
lol, only 11 catches, 405 yards, and 5 TD's. If that's not mining for XP I dont know what is. You also had about 1 rushing yard from the box score despite a 3 score lead in the 4th...

OK, what the fuck is going on here? You can't report someone for making an unlikely play call and then turn around and make an unlikely play call yourself. The biggest reason I think GpNinja's fake FG is crap is because he was up 7-0. I think most coaches would just go with the obvious play when they have the lead.

As for the Jets going for a 4th and goal...I'm assuming this was also very early in the game. Even if you're down 14-0, I doubt a coach makes that call. We don't need this shit going on with one week left in the season. Straighten up...or there will be plenty of strikes to go around.

Basically, my point. People are going to do what works. If we're going to tell people "don't over-utilize your best player", we might as well tell them to stop playing Madden.

4th and 1 from the 45... if it was less than a 60 yd FG i would have kicked it. you don't see the difference between that and a 4th and 8 from the 33?

BTW just an update, we restarted.our 2nd game had to be restarted about midway thru the 2nd i dont know why. if this game doesnt finish, go ahead and sim it.
 
I've never had crap with anyother player except the CPU. Lol It's safe to say the Bills and Jets have a rivarly.

So...it wasn't a 4th and goal as he's claiming? I'm assuming you mean 4th and 1 at HIS 45. Jesus these are hair splitting calls...that I feel are probably dictated by the score more than anything. If you were down by a couple scores at that point, I could see going for it to make sure the game didn't away from you. But if he stuffs you, you're screwed.

As for GpNinja's fake field goal, I still feel like...even with wind, a coach would kick it because of the fact that it's a 4th and 8...and he's already got the lead. And like I said, he got away on a technicality with the Fitzpatrick running up the score on the CPU thing...and now seems to be making up things about what's actually happening in the game. That's not going to do a whole lot to help your case. If you want to call this an "accumulation strike" because of the way you've been playing lately, whatever. But just letting you know, you're pushing the limits, and need to tone it down. It's just a warning anyway. And we all need a good warning every once in awhile.

And just for full disclosure...the point GpNinja is referencing is this:

Seriously though, I can't believe you guys. Rivalries don't mean that you have to hate the other person. I would say I have a pretty huge rivalry with the Chiefs. (I play in the same division in both leagues) Almost every game we play has huge implications, and we play hard on both sides. However, I don't hate him at all, in fact I think he's a great guy. Let's keep it civil in here, it's just Madden after all.

it was on HIS 45 and i was down 7-0. if the wind was on my back, i would've tried the 62 yarder. i usually go for it at 60-ish with wind. i got stuffed and he got the ball. i didn't think that was against the rules... the yardage is right in the middle of what's allowed. my bad if it isnt'

All right, guys. We have advanced to Week 17. Should be some exciting stuff going on with the game trying to figure out who should make the playoffs. Over/under on how many teams get screwed? Last season...didn't the Jets get in when it should have been the Texans?

Deadline for Week 17 is 3/7!
 
the steelers owner mentioned being out of town till friday if im not mistaking just wanted to double tap on that before i play the game as that being correct info
 
The Texans, Jets, and Broncos all were 9-7. I think, I had a tie breaker for the Texans, and he had the tie breaker for the Jets. I had the best conference record. How the Jets got it, I don't know.

Anyway, I am playing the CPU in a few.
 
I see the Rams are open so I guess I have the CPU again this week.

Also, if nobody is itching to take the Browns I'll keep them through the offseason. Like I mentioned before, maybe I'll have a good enough offseason to want to stick with it, but I'm willing to leave earlier if someone wants them.

Yeah, we've got plenty of teams to fill as is. I think there are at least 4 that will be empty. I doubt we'll have that many people stepping in.

I saw it. There's just no way in hell I'm going to remember everything every person has ever posted (ie. I was aware of your upcoming surgery...but I don't have it marked on my calendar). Same with HooRox being out of town.

The only reason I told you to wait was just in case of some craziness where you both happened to be available. But considering what he's already posted and your surgery coming up, if you need to get it done...by all means, play it. I was just trying to assess the level of need there. But it seems like it's pretty high.

If they are, seahawks may get into the playoffs off of 2 straight CPU wins. Kinda crappy, but what are you going to do.

Yeah, I think so. It shouldn't be that hard to program. But then again, EA trains you to keep your expectations low.
 
well while im gone im hoping that i return to see that the chiefs bills ravens all lost there games and hope to sneak into the number 2 seed :)

Yea this kind of blows. I'd have tanked the season long ago had I known that I was counting on the CPU to win games so I could sneak the Redskins into the playoffs.
 
I just looked at the league website and found out I'm 4-4 in games I've actually played. The other 7 losses I have were CPU controlled games vs human players or sims that I lost. Apparently my game vs the Jets this week might have some playoff implications.

Makes me feel a little better going into next season. I need help in my secondary and offensive line. Hopefully I can fix those problems.
 
The Broncos finished out their season last night with a win over the CPU Chargers. I am quite happy with a 10-6 record. Only a couple of points and I would possibly be looking at a first round bye. I now get to look forward to the offseason and spending my 35M cap space. It's weird. I have no real places that need extreme improvement, so I am not exactly how I will spend my money.

I should be able to finish my game against the CPU giants tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully get me my 3rd spot in the NFC. Now i need to win a playoff game, and MAYBE setup a re-match vs the lions which i would look forward to.
 
Really disgusted that a clean strip and run fumble is likely the cause of me missing the playoffs. Makes me want to go out and buy a baseball game just so I can stop playing this one. It even has me considering MLB The Show again...but then I'd have to play my PS3...and I'm sure the online still doesn't work in that game.

I fully admit I didn't call a run play until the 4th. Forte had six carries for 3 yards. Romo had a kneeldown for -2. There's the one total rushing yard.
