I was hoping hed be back for this game but not until the next week. ah well. I had a couple of big dropped passes that my QB actually made, and a couple bad throws by him. I hope we get a chance to play each other next season though cause they always end up pretty good
 
Ya me too I like playing you because you play so much different than anyone else I play in the league. and that catch that I think McCoy made for like 50 yards after two of my guys bobbled a pick made me crap my pants lol

Yeah, the CAG Hockey team was talking about a similar thing with NHL for next year. It would be really easy for EA to just mail it in and essentially make next year's games a $60 roster update because of them working on games for the next systems.

I talked to DVO about this, but In case anyone else is wondering, I definitely don't plan on getting the next Xbox right away. I've got a huge backlog, and depending on how things go for backward compatibility/DLC/used games, I might be turned off by the new system until it receives a couple price drops. So, next year's Madden league will definitely be staying on the Xbox 360.
 
Ditto on not getting the next box. We have been spoiled this generation and I don't need much more. Plus the fact that I'll have an infant at that point and that pretty much kills it right there lol.

I just want improved gameplay, with defense being my main concern. I don't care about things like playing as some legendary player/coach and I really think they messed up Madden Ultimate Team this year. I really enjoyed it in last years game, but I think they added way too many cards/collections and they made it too hard to keep track of in my opinion. I just hope they don't come up with some other mode that I don't care about while ignoring gameplay and core modes like Connected Careers aka Franchise Mode. I have high hopes they will improve gameplay, but everything seems up in the air at this point. Only thing I have heard about so far is that they were looking to get real refs into the game in place of generic ones. This is not an improvement that I care about.
 
ya i dont plan on getting the next generation of xbox till the summer of 14 if i even get it that soon i will be surprised. im hoping by then it will have a nice price drop by then.

I couldn't agree more. I put SO much time into MUT in Madden 12. But even toward the end with 12, it started to feel like they just wanted to have these impossible collections that you almost HAD to spend real life money on to have any chance of completing. Then with this year's game, it just got worse and worse. The cards weren't worth as much, which meant you were opening fewer packs. But the collections were bigger.

I'm all for having some rare cards and collections that are challenging, but I shouldn't be playing the game for months on end without completing hardly any collections. I had even bought the EA Season Ticket this year to get the bonus packs, but after Thanksgiving, I was just done with MUT. I loved the solo challenges, but for a mode that was about collecting cards and completing collections...it was totally lacking in the regard.

As for the rest of your hopes, I'm leery that it's wishful thinking. I think it's pretty apparent that EA is more concerned with finding ways to continue making revenue with their game rather than improving the actual gameplay. I would honestly just be satisfied if they would put BACK some of the things that they took out of this year's game. Defensive assignments, letting you know about onside kicks, etc. I'd prefer that they just make very small changes. Less of a chance of majorly screwing something up, haha.
 
ya i agree i dont care about anything more than gameplay and ccm everything else can be shitty for all i care. just get thoughs to things right. i dont care about presentation at all or refs or mut. i play the game only for ccm and im hoping gameplay gets better.

I spent a ton of time in MUT 12 and I bought the Season Ticket for the bonus packs also. Seemed like a really good idea until I noticed how big the collections were and how many collections they would add each week. It seemed impossible to get any of them done, so I didn't play for very long. I'm pretty sure they make a ton of money off FIFA Ultimate Team and are just trying to do the same with Madden. I remember hearing about a lot of Xbox Live accounts being "hacked" just so they could use the accounts funds to buy FUT packs and sell rare cards for real life cash. Seems like the NFL is big enough that it could become big as well, but they definitely lost people like me who want the complete experience without spending real cash or investing all my free time just to compete.

I need to work on my D bad, but im pretty confident against you're run. That mccoy catch was nuts, terrible decision by me, and i just kept hammering Y for him to catch it and next thing i know it says first down

Madden 25 will be the best thing we see for 360/PS3. My prediction is that they'll 'have to start over' on the next gen and we will be stuck with shit for 3-4 years. At least that is what I remember happening last time.

All I remember is thinking how much better the PS2 version played than the new 360 version the first year I played a 360 Madden. I don't have high hopes of EA fixing the game for a new system, but I do expect them to put out decent versions for current gen consoles for at least the next 2-3 years. This gen has lasted so long, that these consoles will stay relevant even longer than the PS2 did (at least in America). Although I wouldn't be surprised if a couple years down the like, Madden 15 and 16 end up being carbon copies with roster updates, and then releases for the next 6 years just like that...

i might not get the next generation xbox right away but when i do i will be very excited to see how much the graphic get better with a new system update. its seems like every new generation really steps up big with new consoles i always enjoy seeing how much further they push technically into gaming. if u took the xbox to the 90's people would just freak out about how real it looks but to use its just normal so i cant wait to see the updates

When I worked in Walmart electronics last year we sold more copies of Madden on release day for the PS2 than for the Wii. It's amazing how much sway the PS2 still has for people.
 
Chiefs loose a heartbreaker to the jets 15-14.. With 4 sec remaining KC almost scored on a "hey diddle diddle" type of play but ended up gettin caught. Gg Jets good luck in the SB

My prediction was right! Gonna be hard to stop the Jets after beating the AFC #1, #2, and #3 seeds, they are on fire.

Hoping to get in the NFC Championship game tomorrow, he said he might be available. If not he said he wouldn't be available till Thursday.

lol.. i got a 20 yd TD with 4 seconds left in the AFC Championship game to win.. the game before I needed a TD + 2pt conversion to tie with under 2 minutes left, then a last second FG to win. It's been a tough road to the Superbowl haha

In my opinion, unless you have a really good speed back, you really don't have a great RB. Richardson is fine but none of his stats jump off the page at all. His speed and elusiveness are both very underwhelming. Madden never rewards players like Richardson as their game is not meant to be translated well to a video game. When running backs are effective in this game, they are always running to the outside and never between the tackles. Not saying it does not happen from time to time but unless you have sideline speed, your RB is not a great weapon.

Sorry I don't see a player with mid 70's in every important receiving stat to be an effective weapon.

What else am I supposed to say? I do play to win. I follow the rules of course but I do play to win the game. Why else would we be playing this game? I really doubt that anybody would disagree with me when the intention of playing an online game is to win it.

I can't believe I won't even be given a chance or even a trial run. I have done nothing wrong at all.

I follow the rules when I play. I don't understand all this do whatever it takes stuff. I find it somewhat troubling that everyone is talking down to me about how I play when they did not have to start with a team like the Browns. I don't play cheap by any means and if a player is open on the field, you are going to get him the ball. I don't understand this cheesing you speak of at all.

My offense is ranked 6th right now in the league while my D is ranked 30. I really do believe my D is holding me back and that is even despite the fact that I have had trouble finding a balance with my pass and run offense.

I really wish I could play any of you guys in an online game so I could show you how I play. Its not really fair determining how I play when I have been given one of the least talented rosters in the league. I am not complaining, just simply stating the obvious and it really is hard to deny that.

i dont feel so bad about my wildcard loss now that he made it to the super bowl. the jets had the hardest road to the superbowl. being the 6th seed taking out 3 seed then the 1 seed then the 2 seed. should be an interesting Super Bowl thats for sure.

Ya they are rolling now. Just have to see how work goes today, the meeting from yesterday got rescheduled so as of right now I don't know exactly when I'm getting out. Tomorrow is my anniversary so that is a no go. I'll keep you guys posted.
 
And to think, the Jets were seconds away from missing the playoffs. Scored in the last few seconds against me last game of the season to get in. Of course you can do that with any game/scenario during the season but it has a different meaning right at the very end.

jbake_11 has decided to take the Giants. Working my way through the rest of the waiting list today. Hopefully we can have these guys in with their new teams before I leave on Friday.

I'm not too worried about it. A short break will likely do just about everyone some good. Besides, I'm sure there will be plenty of trade activity going on to keep people busy.

You are able to view and sign "major" free agents for each position. I don't remember it working very well though.

Are you going to have someone take over and do the advancements? Or are you going to do it from the website?

Yeah, that's what I thought. I know you can put in offers. I just don't know if I'll be able to use my francise tag, or make offers to my own players in that initial week of free agency from the website (I'm hoping yes).

You defended what almost everyone views as a cheesy style of play by saying you were "forced" to play that way because of the roster you had. Both BV and myself essentially disagreed with that statement. I don't see either of us (you or me) changing our opinion at this point. So, there's not really anything to discuss.

I don't really understand how I have played in one league determines my playing style. My play style is very balanced when I play online when I am dealt a decent team to work within. As I said, there really is nothing to lose in giving me at least an opportunity as I have shown to be active despite not even being in the league formally which has to account for something.
