CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!

Can I have permission to play the Colts on autopilot?

I understand having to do things for your family but being 20 mins late because it took you literally 15 mins to forget we had a game after you agreed to play at that time via PM 15 mins before the game and then rather than give me a heads up or pause the game or something you just let it go? Wasting my time! I'm sorry if your mother is sick and of course I would have understood but you would rather be inconsiderate of other people's time and patience?

As I said in the forum I was worried about playing you because of the way it has been in getting a hold of you but I thought hey he responded right away an again this morning when I messaged you immediately responded. So I thought that you just had a few bad weeks but apparently you just don't have time or care about the league.

Be a man and take responsibility an either quit or make an effort!

I think it's definitely ok to play the CPU here. I appreciate you waiting on the go ahead, doc. But yeah...we've gotta get this Colts situation straightened out. I feel like the guy is trying, but he's gotta realize the problems this is causing. "Forgetting" and being late for whatever reasons means that another human being with a life, family, and responsibilities is sitting there WAITING on you.

Now, we don't know your situation, or know what all your life entails. But we also don't hold a gun to your head to force you to play at a particular time. Don't agree to play at a specific time if it doesn't work for you. Suggest a time that fits with your lifestyle better. As long as you're communicating with your opponent, I doubt anyone is going to mind.

But standing people up and being late shows no regard for other people's time. Sure, things happen and anybody could have something come up. But this has been an ongoing, week after week thing here. I hate saying things like "lets be growns ups" because I feel like that's something 18 year olds say to highlight the fact that they're big boys now. Nobody needs to teach anybody how to act here. Just do what you say you're going to do and these things won't be an issue.

Ya that score bounced off his intended receivers helmet landed 5-10 yards downfield into the hands of a wide open receiver. I definitely feel like Madden was working against me. That crazy touchdown, a pass interference for 39 yard gain on 3rd and long, and a missed field goal screwed me. I enjoyed the game, was close the entire time, great game.

Buccaneers @ Saints-
Vikings @ Rames-
Redskins @ Browns- 23-17 Browns
Jaguars @ Dolphins-
Broncos @ Ravens-
Colts @ Texans-

Steelers @ Cowboys-
Chiefs @ Raiders-
49ers @ Patriots- 45-35 Patriots
Jets @ Titans-

Titans - 38
Jets - 24

Really fun game in this one. Tennessee jumped out to a 14-0 lead on the strength of some big Chris Johnson runs and a quick INT. The Jets wouldn't let things get out of hand though, as they came roaring back, tying the score at 17 all. The Titans were able to get another TD before halftime to take a 24-17 lead. Tennessee added another score in the 3rd to regain their 14 point cushion, but that was quickly answered by New York, as the quarter wound to a close.

In the 4th, the Titans defense stepped up and made some big stops. And Chris Johnson notched his 4th TD of the day...and finished with an astounding 367 yards rushing. The Jets tried to mount a final comeback, but Matt Schaub's 4th INT of the day sealed the game. Great game to stepano! I got worried he had figured me out when he tied the score. I was terrified of throwing against his corners though, and it shows in Locker's stat line. Fortunately, for me, CJ played huge again.

Titans
Jake Locker - 2-6, 31 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Chris Johnson - 19 att, 376 yds, 4 TDs
Javon Ringer - 4 att, 11 yds, 1 TD
Nate Washington - 2 rec, 31 yds
Michael Griffin - 4 tackles, 1 INT
Derrick Morgan - 3 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks

Jets
Matt Schaub - 9-21, 281 yds, 3 TDs, 4 INTs
Shonn Greene - 12 att, 48 yds
Santonio Holmes - 5 rec, 161 yds, 1 TD
Dustin Keller - 3 rec, 106 yds, 1 TD
Just wanted to update that I have officially gotten the game, hope to play with you guys soon!
Yeah, I keep meaning to respond to you, man. But something always seems to pop up right as I'm typing my message, lol (it's been a crazy week). But absolutely, the Bucs are all yours. I'll send you an invite now (assuming you've activated your online pass). We're happy to have you here! Welcome to the league!
I just realized I'm in line to have the second overall pick. Yikes.
This reminds me, to anyone:

If you're planning on sticking around after this season, make sure you use all your scouting points for the draft. I didn't do it at all in the other league, and I picked up a few high-pick stinkers because I had no idea what their ratings were.

haha its all good man been a crazy week here too. I'll respond to it tonight! Looks like I play the Saints this week so I'll send that owner a PM. I saw you guys did a FA period recently...did the previous Bucs owner participate in that?

Gronk keeps having big games like over 150 yards and 3 td like every week but you and that dame CJ keep stealing player of the week from him. lol

I was gonna say when I audible in game. It doesn't show any of the hot routes or buttons to press. Is it turned off or am I glitched or something?

I really didn't expect that kind of game out of him. I saw that the Jets have like the #4 defense, and thought points might be hard to come by for both of us. Turns out there were several big plays for both sides. But my o-line played very strong and CJ's cuts were quick and juicy. I thought at some point it would be "going to the well too many times", but my guys just kept picking up their blocks and creating big holes. Probably the best my linemen have played all season. Definitely wasn't a reflection on stepano's skill level. Just the right game at the right time for me.

Not sure, but check the settings and see if the strategy pad quick links or whatever they're called are turned off for you. I can't even remember what the default setting was, but I know for certain things, even if I set it up one way, individual users had to adjust it for themselves anyway. I would just check the settings and make sure they're the way you like them.

I brought this up with Nate but I'm gonna bring it up here too. I feel like we should consider turning the interception slider down a bit. The number of interceptions is out of control. Consider that the average NFL defense last year picked off 16 passes. That would rank third-lowest in our league as of this writing. The Packers led the NFL with 35 last year. Our leader has 50. Just my opinion, but I think for the sake of realism the slider could use a bit of tweaking.
That's funny Nate said he would advance us today not to mention the holiday was yesterday! Just sayin

Should be expected with a holiday. Things are going to run a little slower with people having guests in town and such.
I'm glad I skipped over most of this page, lol. It's amusing that some people think Thanksgiving is a one day event though. The issue was I've just hardly been on my Xbox...and as DVO mentioned, the website is worthless, and EA never bothered to release that mobile app they promised us (though I'm sure it wouldn't have any worthwhile features either). In addition to having family in town and celebrating my daughter's first birthday, I've been so massively engrossed in Black Friday sales it's been almost borderline obsessive. I think I've gotten like 12 hours sleep the past 3 nights combined...staying up till around 5 AM every night. But hey, I was front row, center when things went insane on microsoftstore.com last night, and man did I have an incredible score. :D

But yeah...back to your regularly scheduled bitching and complaining...with a Christmas scent!

LOL, Nate whatd you end up with? I (somewhat foolishly it seems) went to bed around 3 before the last round of sales went live, but I did get Forza for $15 at least there and got some other great deals from Amazon/BB.

Geez...let me try to remember, lol. It was all such a blur. I was just looking at their website like "this can't be right..." When basically every game on the entire site drops to $10, it becomes incredibly difficult to determine what games you actually want and what's just "a really good deal", haha. I'm sure a lot of people were more limited than me because I rarely buy games at launch anymore (basically only sports stuff that I want to play online)...so there was a lot for me to catch up on. But I ended up with (mother of God...I just realized this list is long enough to justify spoiler tags, lol)
Forza Horison
Dance Central 3
Skyrim
Star Wars The Old Republic: CE
Tiger Woods 13: CE
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
The Gunstringer
Lollipop Chainsaw
The Amazing Spider-Man
Kinect Star Wars
Disney Universe
Brave
SSX

I had no intention of buying this much. But when you can start rationalizing it with "well, that's the cheapest it's ever going to be", it gets ugly pretty fast. By the time I got to Disney Universe and Brave, I knew I had to force myself to stop. Only thing I missed out on was Lego Batman 2...which sold out while I was trying to place the order. That thread was like the NYSE last night though, haha. I could barely keep up with it. I think I actually got a hangover from this sale, lol.

Nice haul! I did get Forza back on Thursday morning but missed last night;s deals. Would have gone for Tiger Woods, SWTOR CE, Amalur, Witcher 2, and a bunch of others. Ah well, Madden, Forza, and Borderlands 2 (which I snagged for $17 from Amazon after credit) should keep me busy for a while in addition to Halo 4.

im not sure if aftershock is going to be keeping up with the league much more. ever since black ops 2 came out it seems like hes lost interest in madden. i know he said he really hates madden 13 compared to madden 12 franchise mode. he was keeping up with both leagues very well but i think blacks op takes all his time becuz everytime i see him online hes playing that. might be time to replace him

He basically did the same thing last year. I think his "veteran" standing may be taking a hit after this. Not even lasting one season is kinda crappy.

the good thing is it wont be to hard to find someone that wants the falcons thats for sure. i know i would love to have them over the Bengals and im sure alot of people in the league would as well. so bringing someone in wont be hard at all

Good game. I couldn't stop that off tackle play at all. My run D sucked ass that game... Hopefully that didn't eliminate all my chances for the playoffs. otherwise it's Tebow time!

Um, am I missing something, or have I not moved up to the #2 seed?

Also...didn't that win clinch the division for me?

Also...isn't this Kaster's job? lol

I joined the season late the guy before me literally scounted everything for this one QB. He didn't scout anybody else.So hopefully I can get some decent players since I haven't had the same amount of time to scout like ya'll.

Thanks Dark Rider. I was gonna wait a week, but that works too :D

just in case anyone is interested in offseason trades yet
bengals trade block

QB andy dalton
RB Arian foster

if i trade foster i want a top notch WR
dalton will only be packaged with foster for better QB and good WR
foster is an option by himself.

really thought foster would be the guy to make my team way better but i was way wrong the running game isnt me at all im a passer thats for sure

The Giants will be looking to move down a bit in the first round. I'll likely have a top 3 pick, willing to move it for a Top 10 pick and something else (either a collection of picks or a good, young lineman).
I just realized that Cutler will be nearly unmovable with all the shit that's been talked about him in this thread.
I'll take him! Christian Ponder is way worse :D

We might have to have a discussion. I think the Rams will likely be in or around the Top 10.
