CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!

Hey I asked this yesterday but it got lost in all the madness:

Is there a way I can make my own coach for the saints? I took over this team and I'd like to make my own guy. It's not important haha - just curious.

Edit: I also wish I made a list of guys I couldn't make offers too. :p

Yeah...I don't know how you took over the last guy's coach. I didn't even think that was possible. Here's how you should do it. Complete your actions for this week (ie. make offers to your own players that you want to make offers to). Then, just retire, and I'll re-invite you before we advance. You'll lose that coach's legacy score. But you'd at least have your own guy.

Also, I don't think the Saints made any trades this year. So, you could probably use the real Saints roster as a point of reference. And if there's a guy you're unsure of, just ask in the thread. I'm sure we could all figure it out fairly easily.

Thanks man! When I signed up as the saints it didn't give me an option for a new coach, so I had to take over the current one. It was weird - i was in another league and took over for someone and it did give me the option. It may have glitched.
I sit here continuously refreshing hoping trade reviews will be posted lol
thank god im not the only one doing this haha

i feel like n8's little puppet and he is pulling the string saying dance puppet dance

it prolly makes u take over as the old coahc so that way u dont lose ur coaching xp and all the traits he bought for his coach
Colts Send:
QB Andrew Luck: age 23 overall 81
contract:3 year remaining 4 total years
total contract 22 million bonus 5.6 million (bengals)

2nd pick (giants)

Bengals send:
RB Arian Foster age 27 overall 95
contract: 4 years remaining total length 5 years
total contract 20 million bonus $0 (Giants)

QB Andy Dalton age 25 overall 82
Contract: remaining 2 years total 4 years
total Contract: 5.2 million Bonus 2.4 million (Giants)

Giants send:
QB Eli Manning age 32 overall 91
Contract 3 years remaining total 7 years
total contract 105 million bonus 14 million (Colts)

RB David Wilson age 22 overall 75
contract years remaining 3 years total 4 years
contract toal 6.6 million bonus 3.2 million ( Bengals)

WR Victor Cruz age 26 overall 87
contract years 4 remaining total 5 years
total contrract 21.2 million bonus 6.8 million (Bengals)

this is a contract that all three parties agree with.

Bengals reasoning for this trade: well the last trade got messed up becuz of cap space glitch so i couldnt afford the other trade. and i still improve in the areas i need to.

Giants: reasoning they want a star RB and need cap space. losing eli makes cap space

Colts: reasoning they have tons of cap space and want a true elite QB.

final breaks down
Giants get:
colts second round pick
Andy Dalton
Arian Foster

Bengals Get:
Victor Cruz
Andrew Luck
David Wilson

Colts Get:
Eli Manning

becuz of the cap space glitch the other trade couldnt happen even if we tried to put it thru the system would just decline it. so we had to come up with this. and luck is alot better than his overall shows but hes not on eli status thats why he also send a 2nd rounder to even everything up its almost the same trade just tweaked it for salary cap reasons. helps everyone in alot of ways
Trade Approved
Vikings send:
TE Kyle Rudolph, 77 OVR, age 23, 2 yr - 5 mil remaining

49ers send:
WR Mario Manningham, 84 OVR (77 in Blade's scheme), age 31, 1 yr - 4.39 mil remaining
Trade Approved

Recently submitted trades are going to take longer. I haven't had a chance to forward them yet, and I've gotta go take care of some stuff right now.
did anyone else notice that we went from stage 1 off season to stage 3 of the off season?
Yeah, from my experience in offline careers, when you're a coach, you have different weeks of the offseason from when you're a player. So when you control a player your first offseason stage is stage 2

Remind him that I can't send it unless he has someone set as tradable. So he has to send it.

hmmm this is weird i can buy tight spiral for luck but i look at his playing card and it says he already throws tight spiral

i have 18 million and i still have a few players i can cut if i want for more space that are getting over paid.
lol now im just ready for us to advance :) next goal signing free agents

lol now im just ready for us to advance so i can start signing FAs i know wut my team really needs the most pretty much just depth. so nothing to fancy might go after a couple of guys that could be considered fancy

well for now bengals are closing down shop on trades but im usually always in the market to ship off my draft picks so once we hit the regular season if anyone is interested in more picks hit me up.

also i wasnt around for pre season last year. how did u run it. injuries off? and did u allow people to keep there starters in all game or did u just have the starts come out and use the backups when ever they got subbed

When I go to the trade screen it shows a different cap number than the other screens. Says I have 19.97 M in cap room. Is this including the money set aside for rookies?

Injuries off, allow CPU to sub starters out (except for K and P swap).

easy enough just like the other league

Yes that includes the money set aside for rookie signings from the draft.

Does anyone need more picks? I got 2 x 5th round picks, 1 x 6th round pick, and 2 x 7th round picks. I would be looking to move all for a low 3rd round or high 4th round. I would move multiples for 4th round picks.
Yes that includes the money set aside for rookie signings from the draft.
Ah, that makes sense. Was wondering, since it showed DVO had less cap space than me, then looked at his draft picks and he only has a 4th and 2 6th round picks.

Might have trouble finding a Chargers and Panthers owner. Chargers only have 10 million cap space including rookie money. Panthers have negative cap space. I have $20 million and feel strained.

Its not hard to make cap space just have to cut the roght players panthers owner prolly quit becuz of the cap space

OK I have been completely out of the loop. Did I miss my chance to re-sign my own players? If so I'll just be starting from scratch I suppose. Whatever the case it's my own fault, I've done a crappy job keeping up with the league since the playoffs started.

Our new Patriots owner has joined the league! Thanks again to bv for squatting for us (new league motto: "A Gentleman Always Squats". Maybe?) Not sure if staticz ever decided if he wanted to stay on as the Panthers...but other than that, we've got the Chargers and Steelers open (but thankfully...with their last owners still locked in, so at least those teams can be controlled).

And for anyone wondering, we currently have 4 teams "ready to advance". We'll see how the rest of the night goes, but I wouldn't be shocked if we were waiting till tomorrow night anyway.

And to bring everyone up to speed with where we're at

IMPORTANT

Stage 2 Instructions

NO ONE is to make any contract offers to players who were not on your team this past season. Again, you will ONLY be allowed to negotiate with your own free agents. On 12/13 at 7:30 PM EST, free agency will be opened completely (barring any other catastrophic EA fuck ups).

Also, when you're done making offers to your players this week, please select "Ready To Advance". This could help us GREATLY cut down on the planned 24 hour window that we're taking for each stage.\

And one last thing, we need everyone in the league to be watchdogs to make sure everything is going according to policy. Things that would stand out is any player having multiple offers on him. That shouldn't be happening right now. Or if you see one of your players with an offer from another team...make sure to say something. I'm not expecting any devious intent from people. But mistakes do happen too.

You technically did miss the game's intended exclusive re-sign period. But it was decided that we'd manually do another week of that for various reason. See above for instructions.

Yeah I just read through everything. Hopefully I remember which players are even mine >.< Stupid Seahawks. If I'm unsure I'll check the rosters. Braylon Edwards may not be a seahawk anymore IRL but he was MY mediocre-ass receiver in this franchise, dammit.

Make it (hopefully) five, as I've clicked on the ready to advance button from the website.

Well, depending on how many trades you made (and I'm not remembering many), you could probably just use the real Seahawks roster as a reference. At the least, that might jog your memory when you see some of the names.

If two people wish to do a trade, it has to be posted up in the forums first to get approved right? Once its approved, the players then trade?

No, submit it to the CAGLeagueSports account (the one in the OP) and submit it to them. He then sends it out to the other four members of the trade committee, who vote yea or nay. When that's done, CAGLeagueSports posts in the thread whether it was accepted or rejected.

im almost positive that the only people that are going to bid on FAs prolly have already done it seems like only the active people in the thread have been doing the things ur suppose to do lol

If anyone is looking for a running back, Ahmad Bradshaw is available. Two years left at around 10-11 million, 88 overall, 92 speed. Looking for draft pick(s), MLB help, LG or a wide receiver.

Also, still looking to move down from the second overall pick. Prefer to stay in the Top 10, but I'll consider moving further down if the price is right.
