I was thinking the other day about having some sort of medical sticky for people who game and use the computer alot. I know you can develop serious damage to your hands after long use of gaming and such. What led me to posting this and actually talking about it was my encounter with this women the other day.

She told me she would work 10 hours a day on a computer and that she was really worried about her son developing carpal tunnel. He is also a gamer. She thinks that since he will be using the wii more than anything else he should be fine.

So do you guys think we can develop a sticky for those of us who worry and just to get more info on how to stretch the muscles and correct positioning of the hands when typing...

hope this doesn't sound to gay just thought i would look out for all you guys.

oh and if it does exist please post link. i tried searching and nothing came up!

thanks guys!

It is definitely something to be concerned about. I've been a gamer forever, started about on the PC back in the mid to late 80's and spent many hours a day on a PC for years and years. I have mild wrist problems that are exacerbated by working out and other labor intensive things using my hands... make sure you / they are using the correct angle for typing and using the mouse. Do some research on carpal tunnel especially regarding "work related injury / keyboard" and it will have all kind of information.

Maybe you can also type out a guide for keeping your nails looking great and how to keep your scarf from falling into your tea.
