Can anyone else NOT find a classic controller?

I had one preordered, but apperently that doesn't mean you get one. I tried looking in every story around and not one place has the CC. Nintendo did very well supplying enough consoles, but they really fell behind on the accessories.

If you want mine, PM me. Pay for the controller, shipping, and tax I paid for it, and you can have it. I'll get by just fine with a Wavebird. Nintendo made me so paranoid over compatibility that first thing I did was check the Wavebird.

Say like $25 should do it.

I had a very difficult time finding one in central Ohio. I eventually found one at the 4th Walmart I went to. There were two on the shelf. I grabbed one, and the person behind me grabbed the other. I'm sure they'll become more available in the next couple of weeks.

On a side note, the only game I've downloaded (Sonic) can be played using a Gamecube controller. I haven't tried using a GCN controller, but a message that popped up when I confirmed the download said it was possible. I've heard other games can be as well, but I can't confirm it.

I haven't gotten my pre-ordered one, either. I find it weird I could get a console, but not a lower-demand controller. Oh well, I'd rather have it this way than vice-versa...

Well, a lot were bought also by parents who didn't know a thing. For example there was a lady there in the Wii line, as soon as we got in, they went to all the accesories, bought wii points, VC controller, whatever game she got her hand on, she said she had no idea if her son wanted it, but it was there so she grabbed it.

I only found 1 after looking through 8 stores. I did find two extra Wiimotes and 2 Nunchukus, still looking for one.

Also I talked to a lot of people who were driving around searching for controllers as well.

My CC had a cartful of them, I want one because it looks so sexy, but after spending 340 dollars yesterday I cant spend anymore, my Wavebirds going to have to do.

Ditto in NE Ohio. From what I read on Joytaku (can't remember which one), the Nunchuk is overall harder to find that the Wiimote, but it's the other way around in some regions. I get the impression that not only did Nintendo not make enough accessories, they didn't distribute them very evenly.

I had the Classic controller preordered at Gamestop, but they didn't get a single one in. I sure hope they don't expect me to make a special trip up to their store on Black Friday (or even Saturday) for a fucking $20 controller. I can make due with my Gamecube one just fine for now. (It'll also be interesting to see if their automated system even calls me when it arrives.)

So the wavebird works fine for both Cube and VC games? If so, I'll just spend the money on that instead of the VC controller. A local store has some Wavebirds for $19.99 anyway.

The Wavebird works with it? I just bought a classic controller today on my lunchbreak (and I don't even have a Wii yet) because I saw them in a TRU near my job and heard they were getting hard to find. Ah well I'm too lazy to return it, plus it has the aura of newness so I guess I will keep it whenever I do get a Wii.

I thought I wasn't going to get one today.

I ordered them for in-store pickup at Circuit City last night. Got my email indicating they were in stock and good to go.

Went into the store today and they couldn't find them. Got a $24 gift card for the hassle.

Walked back to the video game area and what did I see tucked behind a display, upside down, by the register? My classic controller that some employee was trying to hide.

Picked it up and took it to customer service. Ended up getting the controller free and having $8 left on my gift card.

I'm a happy gamer.

Yep, sure does. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE CLASSIC CONTROLLER if you have a GC controller or Wavebird. Furthermore, if you don't have either, get that instead, since it covers you for GC games as well. No sense in locking yourself out of the GC games. I'll sell mine to someone if they really, really want it, for whatever reason (make a set?) but it's a waste of money at this point, IMO...

The Cubes D-Pad sucks. Enough reason to get the VC controller.

The EBGames near me had a dozen or so (Had the sales ticket you hand to the cashier). Same with the Nunchuck. Not sure about the Wiimote though, wasnt really looking at accessories, just the system.

For me that was the exact reason. Playing F-Zero with the Wavebird was incredibly difficult.

The D-pad on the classic controller is very, very nice.
