I was lucky enough to get in on the two for $50.00 deal for Fear 3 at TRU at the end of June. Not only did I get in on that deal I also go the $50.00 gift card that was supposed to be a part of the original deal that TRU screwed up on. Now going through my wallet I noticed that the Gift card expired on 7/31/11 because the girl gave me a propm gift card that was used for another deal they were running. It just seems vet weird that they would hand out gift cards that were only valid for a month I thought most were good for 3 months or more when they did deals like this before. Is there anything i can do to see if i can get the gift cards credit reactivated? I know its a long shot but I figured i would ask anyway.

Thanks,
Anthony H.

You will probably not have much luck, but it would be worth a try. First, see if it still works at the register with your purchase. If it doesn't explain the situation. This is probably part of the "fine print" of the deal, and they are probably counting on a certain percentage of people to forget to redeem their gift cards within a certain time period.

U meaning the 2 for $50 deal when Fear 3 was released? They honor the deal, but didnt $0 out the gift card. ( i got fear 3 and black ops)

They probably gave u a $0 out gift card because the register was prop to give the gift card, but toys r us said u caouldnt get both deals.

Anyway, there is nothing u can really do. U can call corp. and see what they said. U should first call to check history of the card and see if $50 was apply first.

Let me know how it works out.

good luck

It was applied I still have the original receipt at least saying it was plus it listed as a purchase on my Rewards-r-us history. I am worried because the girl behind the counter ringing me up at first forgot to put the card in my bag and I had to go back and get it like a minute or two later. I wonder if see moved the credit from one card to another and than gave me back the empty card.

I am more pissed that they gave me a card with only a month to use it on something. But in the end its my fault for not paying attention to the date on it.

good luck[/QUOTE]Y-O-U. Not that hard to spell.

@OP, I've heard of people getting they're money back on gift cards by raising hell and making a big fuss about it, but I think that's rare. Might be worth a try though.

You make yourself look like a bit of jackass by playing the grammar police and then making your own mistake.

You forgot to mention that his first sentence is missing a subject as well.

"Not that hard to spell"
vs.
It is not that hard to spell.

I tried it before and it did not work. What you should have done is buy something with the promo gift card, then return it. That way you get a regular gift card back

Because the expiration date is printed on the card, there is no way to get any of it back after it expires.

FYI: promo gift cards expire in January or July. There is no more of the gift cards expiring in so many days after purchase.

Yep kind of figured I screwed myself by not knowing what the expiration date was. I guess I will learn to keep an eye on it next time.

It is worth noting that you are able to buy a regular non-expiring giftcard with one of the promo ones that have an expiration date.

Sorry. Next time I will use ....YOU.

Don't worry. Be happy.

LOL. Is everyone here that picky on grammar?

LOL= Laughing out loud for the person correcting "U" with Y-O-U.

it may show on the receipt, but did they flip the card making it $0? They use to do this so they can put it back into the store.

You probably can't do much, but try to call them. If you bitch enough, then maybe they can reissue a new gift card.

FYI- I had no luck.
