Arghhh... I just got Mortal Kombat at Toys R Us today. But upon finally opening the game, the disc fell out. I soon found out that the middle part inside the case that holds the game in place was loose, so that whenever I open the case, the disc would pop out of place. The disc has already two or three hairline scratches because of it. Now I feel like going back to requesting a new copy but I'm not sure if they would honor something like this?:cry:
 
Almost all B&M stores will exchange open items within 30 days for the exact same item if defective. I've never done it at Toys R Us but I have done it dozen or more times at best buy and walmart with movies or games that had broken off the tabs. As weird as it seems I always pick up the case now and shake it to see if its rattling around inside.
 
Definitely happens in shipping and stocking all the time, and TRU knows all too well that broken and/or defective packaging is not the fault of the consumer. Just take it to customer service, briefly explain the damage to the case and disc, and request a same-item exchange.
 
I'm assuming you got the 360 ver? PS3 blu ray coating makes it resistant to scratches just rub it away with a microfiber cloth if it's the PS3 ver
