I tried to create the utopia boot cd.. for those of you who know what that is. It didn't work. If I can't play American games, then I'll have to buy a new Dreamcast.

Since when can you play cd type games on different region systems (psp doesn't count)?

In other words, no.

You might have burned the utopia boot cd wrong or maybe something else... I've got a DC Gameshark, and two different kinds of boot cd's and I can play american to japanese games fine... might want to try to get a different boot cd and test that out.
You didn't burn a NTSC U/C boot disc by any chance, did you?
Ok, that may have been the problem. I'm going to try again..

Bump.. to get more opinions. I've tried three different boot cds, none of them have worked. I've made a bunch of coasters, so I'm thinking the cds or cd burner may not work with the dreamcast. That may be it, but I'm wondering if anyone can give more help.

And I read that it is possible.. quote from another forum: "Kadewa: Yes, I use the Utopia disc, and it can be used to play either US games on a Jap DC, or Jap games on a US DC (I have both.)"

Oh, and nero formats don't seem to burn.. they cancel at 50%. Disc Juggler formats do burn, though. They just haven't worked when I started up my DC.
