Just came back from Walmart, they're having a big anniversary sale starting today.

I bought Singstar Pop (w/o mikes) for $10, plus Singstar 80s with 2 mikes for $30. They had most of the Singstar series for these prices. I also saw an XBox bundle (a non-HD version) for $177. There were also a bunch more games deals.
Wish I had more details, but I lost the flyer while shopping :bomb: If anyone has one, maybe they can post some more info.

Almost forgot, they had their DS's down to $100

EDIT: Singstar with mics are actually $20. Also, someone posted a similar thread before I did. Sorry I missed it.

Samsung is the cheapest, that is why you always see it advertised and on demo.

"My official Samsung rant!"

I had a Samsung DLP and it was shit in general. Even shittier for games. I actually went through two of them, just in case something was wrong with the first one (second one was even worse, with dirt on the inside of the screen). I returned it and got a Sony. My neighbor also has a Samsung DLP and after 2 years it has had to be serviced twice.

I had a Samsung cell phone. Crap.

I had a Samsung MP3 player. Barely functional. Had a critical firmware flaw. I worked with Samsung support for about a month trying to get a workaround or updated firmware.

Needless to say, I avoid Samsung like the plague.

I think you may have been a victim of a series of unfortunate circumstances :D.

I read this at work and the cost price (employee price) for the Samsung A550 is higher than the average TV price of the same size.

But I agree with the phone thing, I'm a Nokia guy but Fido sent me a Blackjack and after two replacements the problems with the keypad (sometimes they don't register at all when I type) presist.

I went through so much research before getting an LCD TV, avsforum was one of the places I went to the most for info. You'll eventually realize that all LCD's have flaws and you have to decide on which ones you can live with.

Throw gaming (input lag) into it, and it's even harder to buy one.

Jeez, I don't suppose this sale is still on? I've been wanting the PS2 SingStars but unwilling to pay $30 for them. And by the way, the upcoming PS3 feature allows you to swap PS2 discs into the PS3 game, not rip them to your HDD. The PS3 will read the data off the PS2 disc and allow you to play the song inside SingStar PS3. What I wonder most is whether it will allow you to save high scores for the PS2 songs. If not, you might as well just play them as PS2 games and forget the swap feature.

edit: looks like the sale is on til Oct 4. Wonder if I can still snag some SingStars.

To each his own I guess. I've had the opposite of luck with Samsung. I love Samsung :). My cell phone has been great, no problems with it at all after 2 years. My mp3 player has been great as well, 4 years of throwing it around and I still use it all the time without a single problem. Bought a Samsung 8gb mp3 player touch screen (YP-2 I believe) last boxing day and my girlfriend loves it...no problems at all as well. I'm looking to buy a A550 in the upcoming months...hopefully there's a sale. I live and die by Samsung lol...

Your store is probably sold out (out of the 3 around my area I only find 1 or 2 opies with the mics). Doesn't hurt to check and you could always PM

I'll call them. I'm visiting in Kingston right now and I have no idea how busy things are in terms of guys trying to ravage cheap game sales, or that sort of thing. There may be a chance!

Update: They're sold out, ah well saves me some time and money.

Just pricematch at Futureshop. I went there on two separate occasions and neither time did the cashier bother to call Walmart. Just make sure you have the Walmart flyer.

I'm hoping EB has some sort of "Trade 3/5/10 get bonus $$$" sometime in the next few weeks before I give up and return all these Singstars to Walmart.

I have an 52inch LCD samsung at my place, an A550. The quality on that thing is ridiculous. It's comparable if not better than sony's products too.

Oh and just to add, the Samsung A550 50" Plasma TV just went down 400 dollars at BB to 1599.99. They also have a deal where you trade in your old tube tv and get 250 off a 50" or larger flat panel TV...so the A550 could possibly be $1350 after that...I just might have to splurge for this deal lol...

Just to chime in I have a 50" Panasonic plasma for the past 18 months. The HD movies and games look amazing and the SD channel's/DVD's are decent as well. I haven't had any problems or complaint about it, I even like the remote. The BBC series Planet Earth in HD is breathtaking on it.

The last time they had it, it was any system. I was able to do a trade 3 +$10 thing. I was also able to use PS2 games for the "trade 5 get DS" thing as well. It seems like every promotion since then has disallowed PS2. :(

No wonder they were sold out, I'm from Napanee and Kingston was one of the stores I was talking about being OOS :)
