Can you import songs from USED Rock Band 2 to NEW Rock Band 3

I know that you have to use a code found in Rock Band 2 to import the songs into Rock Band 3, but can you do it with a used copy, where the code has already been used before?

I mean, why couldn't I, since I'd pay the 10 dollars fee anyway

I'm pretty sure you can, EA was offering new codes to people who didn't have the manual, so I'm guessing they don't care about used copies anymore.

hmm, so if it doesn't work, I should call EA and explain? How nice is EA support in dealing with Rock Band stuff?

Since you have to pay the cost for the export (actually a download) anyway, they'll probably have no problem giving you a new code.

I posted a thread on this a few days ago wondering if all of the DLC codes are now two-timers instead of one-use only since all DLC and track packs would need the ability to be exported into both RB2 and RB3. Could I just buy RB: Green Day Plus used and use the code from that game to export the tracks into RB3? Basically use the one time code from that game that doesn't charge an export fee and use it to import those songs into RB3 plus the 6 extra Green Day songs already on Xbox live? Any thoughts or anyone try this already?
