Can you purchase eshop money w/gift cards?

What the title says. I went into a Toys r Us and was told I could not buy gift cards with gift cards didnt know eshop $ where gift cards.

It probably varies by store. Their POS system most likely treats them the same as a prepaid credit card activation so it just blocks all of the transactions like that. Gamestop just prints the e-shop code I think and would let you use a gift card.
