Can you turn off the WiFi?

CAGiversary!
Does the PSP have the ability to turn off it's wireless networking capabilities? Just curious because the last time I was on an airplane, I could have swore they asked us to turn off the wireless cards on our laptops when it was time to turn off cell phones.

Just an idle thought as my Monday draws to a close....

Yes, it is a switch on the lower left hand side. I would always keep it off if not in use because it drains the battery quicker.

Is it safe to use WiFi after take off? I mean I can understand why I don't bother turning my cell phone back on after take off (roaming would be a bitch and a half!) But if you just wanted to play another person across the isle I'm thinking that wouldnt be permited either.

Some airline are already offering in-flight WiFi support, typically via a satellite connection, so it depends whose flight you're on. A lot of the strictures are pretty ridiculous and aren't going to stand as wireless equipment becomes more common to drive passengers to those airlines that allow their use. Most of the worries were based on unsubstantiated possibilities but once the FAA gets a bug up its ass it can take decades for it to be removed. What started this was 70's era equipment that could knock TV reception for the area of a city block, so little wonder the airlines wanted to have it in the same vicinity as their 70's grade equipment subject to RF interference. A lot has changed since then but it takes a long time for reality to overrule habit.
