Update 3: The new website is http://www.tivs.ca thanks to neksus!

Update 2:

Lone Prodigy is awesome and made a new one: http://ebtradeinvalues.scribblewiki.com/Main_Page

Update:
Please update the wiki yourself. The new wiki is http://www.citgocapital.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

RFDers use/edit it as well.

Alright, the Americans have a wiki page with all the EB Games trade-in values and I figured we might as well start one for the Canadian EB. It's good reference for if we ever want to sell our soul or maybe take advantage of loopholes in their promos! I'll try and keep the list updated as much as possible.

If you have info to add, please do so in the following format:
*Game Name - $# - Month Day, Year
For example:
*Sonic Mega Collection - $8 - September 29th, 2006.

Group them by system please!

you know j, when you trade in games at an EB for the T3 promo, the value gets bumped up to $23.33, so unless you ask the clerk, or the clerk states the values out loud, the original TIV is unknown. But of course, you already knew that, didn't you? Moreover, I'm sure most people here only care about whether games work for the T3; neksus can have the TIV put at $8 until someone comes out with a firm answer.

I usually just ask the CSR what the values of my games are before I give them the notion that I'm applying them to a trade 3 deal or a promotion, that way I have their original TIV's before their bumps. :)
when did it become so cool to NOT post TIVs here?
every other post now just tells us if it qualified for T3G1F at EB.
lazy. lazy. lazy.

there isn't a spot for that on neksus's site.
you lazy bastards want a column that just says Qualifies Y/N?
cause i sure don't. it's not that hard to ask the rep at EB what their TIV is.

and as far as TIVs.ca not being "gospel".
the site is as accurate and up-to-date as you make it.

(the sole cash sponsor of TIVS.ca until neksus says otherwise :))
+1 Couldn't agree more. Why bother posting in this thread if you don't know the values.

Oh, and your not the sole cash sponser anymore :)

From a friend who's too lazy to post :)
EB as of 8/27:

WiiPlay(wii) 9.75
Mario Galaxy (wii) 21.75
Logans Shadow (PSP) 9.50
Mass Effect (X360) 10.50
Gears 2 (X360) 24.75
Rock what for the ps3? If you're going to be complaining about others, lead by example and put the correct names of the traded games in. Thank you.
Sorry. It's a Klepto style joke. He put the word 'turd' in every title.
I got tired of typing Rock Revolution and Hellboy: Science of Evil every
other day so to make it fun for myself I'd put things like:
Hellboy:Science of Hoarding and well, as you saw, Rock Hoard(Revo)lution.
I can stop. But I don't have to.

Always ask the clerk what the TIV is. Or stay out of here. Don't post.
"It worked" is not a worthwhile post. This isn't the "Will if Work For T3@EB" thread.
If it is then we should start another thread where people can post the trade in value of games they're trading. :wall:

You're a good man.
I carry a pen and paper or write notes on my cell.
I even eavesdrop when other people do their trades!

Nice!

I don't mind if people say what games qualify for T3. So for those of you who don't have exact values, don't worry about it. Knowing whether or not a game qualifies is still extremely helpful, and you're doing the site a service. If someone is super concerned with the precise TIV of a particular game, they can call their local EB, and update TIVS.ca accordingly.

There should be a separate thread then. This thread is for tivs.

But they are giving TIVs, my friend; if the game works, it's TIV is $8 or more

Happy Birthday tivs.ca, I sold one wolfenstein pre-order code so the donation is coming soon once payment is confirm :)

I picked some random wii games and called in for tiv updates @ eb as well

Endless Ocean 9.50
Elebits 3.75
Rock Band $2
Wii Music $17

Short of seeing a j940651 CAG MOD designation, I suspect the rest of us will post what and where we choose to. You know, those of us who don't get banned from web forums on a regular basis...

Im hardly going to ask them to read out the values when both they and i know it doesn't make any difference, let alone eaves drop on people or take a pen and paper...being I'm, you know, reasonably normal...

The exact value makes no difference to anyone here, especially as we all know it can be meaningless the next day.

cool, you agree then

Considering the small number of people actually trading games in for credit as opposed to Trade-3, I don't mind if they just post games and say "they work". Perhaps if you're worried about borderline games then a more exact TIV would be helpful, but if you're unsure you should call to check.

forum. RFD is a forum. not forums.
forums is the plural of forum.
i can see where that might be confusing.
no i can't.

anyways yeah it should be a separate thread then.
you people who are too lazy to ask what the tivs are should have
your own little section where you can just grunt and nod:
"WORK!" "NO WORK!"

provided you don't eat all the paste and fling feces at each other.
:)

Eb today Aug 28, 2009

Hellboy 360 $5.75 (I knew it did not qualify, but seing it sells for $14.99 used, it won't go back to $8+ ) - (sells for $5 at Source)

mlb power pros 2008 wii +- $ 11.25 (sells for $9.96 at Source)

simcity creator wii $15.50 (surprised about that that it's so high, sells for $9.96 at Source)

too human 360 +-$10.75 (not surprising, they have to match $10 minimum BBV since it's on their most wanted list, sells for $14.96 at Source, trade filler)

not easy to remember with decimals! way easier when they used round numbers.

preorder dirt2 PS3 with T3G1F. Gaming guarantee is hot! I will get back some credit, maybe preorder another GG!

Back to the debate:
I like to know if game qualifies. I prefer someone saying that a game qualifies (and where /how much they paid for it) than saying nothing.

However, to support the argument of giving the TIVS (or at least some approximation!): a $15 TIV game is more lickely to stay over $8 than a $8.25 TIV game, so info about TIV is useful in that respect.

For example, a NHL09 with $8.25 TIV would make me hesitate to get hands on a copy to trade it, but a $15 TIV is more lickely to stay over $8 for a few days.

I think people should use the strategy to ask for TIVS before saying they intend to T3G1F in order to get extra values, since it makes it like you don't know what is going on (always a good idea).

i agree with all this.
better you post something than nothing i guess.
it just seems automatic to me to get the TIVS though.
since you're at the store, at the counter, giving them the games, and
they are looking up the TIVS. why NOT get them? and share them?
we all do - so can you! it's not hard! we're all grateful when people
contribute. i just don't like how sloppy it's getting. posters are constantly
leaving out the store, the tivs, the system - it gets very annoying.

but yeah, post something. since it is the TIV thread, try and get TIVs.
but also consider how some people will go in thinking their game works
cause you SAID it did. only to find out the TIV dropped from $8.00 to
$7.50 overnight. just like cash said. if we hear you say you got $15
we all know we have time to get in on that deal for T3 - and we'll
make do with that till we get the ACTUAL TIV that you didn't get.

I find the best way to get the actual TIV when doing a T3 is to just play dumb. Give the CSR your three games and just ask what the TIVs are. After you get confirmation that they are all $8+, then ask if you can do a T3 towards whichever game you want.

That's how I've done it for my last 3 preorders. And the reason I haven't posted new values in a while is that most of the games I have traded in have already been updated either that day or the day before :p
Thanks for the FS update neksus!

I don't know if it's a known bug, but the "ascending" and "descending" functions for EBGames and Blockbuster to see TIVS high to low and vice-verca are bugging.
For example, descending is showing from $9.50 to $5 (order), then $40 games, then $4 , then $39.50 to $30, etc.

It is like the programming makes that $9.50 is bigger than $40, probably related to the adding of cents for EB and BBV.

Keep up the great work.
Fixed! The select sort wasn't incorporating length, and had to add a 0+

EBGames
SimCity Creator (Wii): $15.50
Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge (Wii): $14.50
Puppy Luv (Wii): $13 (very surprising)
I specifically went out of my way to get the tivs of those games, so I hope you're happy j940651 :p

Thanks for the extra time. Which game did you preorder?

Do you have the Source catalog number of the puppy luv and winter sports? (let's push it further !!! :p ) They were removed from Source website, so it's difficult to locate these germs.

Thanks in advance.

1. I pre-ordered Uncharted 2.
2. They still show-up on the website for me. Try these links:
Puppy Luv http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Prod...line&category=Clearance+Items&product=5814428 (picture is wrong, but store stock information is still accurate).
Winter Sports: The Ultimate Challenge http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Prod...line&category=Clearance+Items&product=5814421

Good choice for Uncharted 2, GG makes it even better.

Thanks! I am surprised... I searched for them yesterday on the website using "puppy luv" and "winter sports" and could not find them. Good to know they are back.

the tivs:

BBV

360 - Project Sylpheed - $10
360 - Lost Planet - $10
360 - Armored Core For Answer - $24

($10 min trade and B2G1F was on today, i reckon it will be till sunday night)

FS

360 - Sega Rally Revo - $13.20
360 - Armored Core 4 - $18
Wii - Tenchu: Shadow Hoarders - $18

EB

Wii - Tenchu: Shadow Hoarders - $19
360 - Project Gotham 4 - $10.25
Wii - WWE vs. Smackdown - $11.50

As opposed to creating an additional thread, we can just re-name this one to "EB/BBV/FS TIV Values and T3 Qualifiers" or something as such. Then, the poster can have the choice of posting the TIV, or whether it qualifies.
there is like 30 games on my mobile, what happend to the almost 300!? :(
Ah, the same error happened there that was effecting the printing page, I'll fix it ASAP. Stupid decimals.
EB Games:

Batman: Arkham Asylum (X360) - $20

Heh, I was just asking to see how much it is currently going for.
Meh, that is ridiculous. That's 200% profit.

I assume all the stores are back to 69.99 for Batman? So hopefully we'll see the TIV jump to $40-ish in a couple of weeks.. I believe that's what happened with inFamous which is back to $40 at EB now

Rogers is giving $40 for it starting today. Hasn't EB been matching the trade-in values from other stores recently?

Where have you seen that?
I've never even heard of an instance of EB PMing a TIV.

They do advertise they "get the best value for you games.. guaranteed" on their most wanted flyer. I assume that only refers to the listed games though.

This is what I was referring to.

EBgames

Wii play - $10
Resident Evil 4 (Wii) - $13.50
Ultimate Genesis Collection (360) - not sure but worked for T3

Those games were used for T3, then I got the credit for Pokemon, which should have been $20

Pokemon Diamond - $20 (odd that I got bumped to $30 though)

Scan of the receipt:

Hey guys just a quick question. I got Guitar Hero 5 game only with the T3G1F deal the other day, and was wondering if I can return it for full credit. I have not opened the game.

I used these games towards the TMGM promo at EBGames:
The Incredible Hulk (360): $6.50
Space Chimps (360): $6.50
Tony Hawk's Project 8 (360): $6.50
World Series of Poker 2008 (360): $4.75
Spider-Man 3 (PS3): $6.50
Tamagotchi: Party On! (Wii): $5.50
SimCity Creator (Wii): $15.25
Fifa Street 3 (DS): $7.00
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (DS): $6.00
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings (DS): $3.00

And I used these 3 games for a T3G1F at EBGames too:
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom (360): $10
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow (PSP): $9.50 (still holding strong surprisingly)
MLB Power Pros 2008 (Wii): $10.25

EB
Puppy Luv Wii - $13 (WTF I know)
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor DS - $10
Logans Shadow PSP - $9.25

All worked for T3G1F and the clerk there was nice enough to allow me to preorder Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, though I did get some strange looks when I traded in Puppy Luv:p
