lol @ already great trade in prices.

Well, I'll trade in my DS for $60 to them and buy a Lite most likely. If I can, I'll pre-order a PS3 as well to profit. I'm pre-ordering a Wii for sure.

lol sweet Im so preordering. Too bad I got a freaking exam on monday and school ALL DAY! I might have to tell my parents to go early, and if they dont, I guess Ill have to try my luck on Tuesday mornign =|

Heh. The stores haven't gotten the info yet =P I was at Metro and one guy was asking about the Wii and the clerk got a phone call. Someone was asking him about PS3 or Wii pre-orders. Metro's not gonna be a good place to go for this =/

I'm so screwed though. Class from 9:30 until 2:30. I'll get a Wii probably, but getting a PS3 as well might be tricky.

University...I got that often, Im taking the hardest courseload than anyone in year 1. Although it hasnt really stressed me out yet...it boggles me how some people can take 30 credit hours with no labs and get stressed from school. (*cough* my friends)

I figured you go to university =p I meant which one. I'm at SFU. I go to the Surrey campus because it's the only place that offers Interactive Arts & Technology. I'm also a first year =)

I dont wanna say which lol, dont really want to be known by the world. You its ok but not everyone else =p. Anyway Im going into my sciences...I think were one of the higher ranked in Canada, or the highest where I live at least.

Metrotown is getting "less than 20 Wiis and less than 10 PS3s".
I'm screwed. Gonna call all the EBs after school and then go to any that have systems left. If not, I'll just go to Zellers and get the Wii there. Then I'll return Excite Truck.

Wow...my EB said 3!!! 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS3's. Pathetic!! I'm going to try to get my parents to go down...I'll even offer them a cut of the money lol

Can you phone and reserve preorders, or is it also a first come first serve?

Any Toronto CAG-ers reserving a Wii (or PS3) on Monday? Which store do you think will be less plagued by lineups -- Yonge/Eg, or the Eaton's Centre? What time are you planning on getting there? Stores open at 10am, and I was hoping that 7:45-8am would be enough. Am I kidding myself?

I live in Barrie (30 minutes north of Toronto) and the stores open at 9:30, but the actual mall opens at 730am. I'll be down there at 7.....I mean no one else can get in right? If I'm screwed there I'm booting it down to a little community called Orillia, there shouldn't be to much trouble there hopefully.

I checked out a few EB's today, and here is what I discovered. That trade-in deal in the first post of this thread doesn't seem to exist (at least not yet), so it's $50 in trade-in's or $200 cash/credit to get a pre-order on Monday. The supplies are limited with even the big stores only getting 3-8 PS3's and 8-15 Wii's (which seems really low for a system that should be in plentiful supply). Now while most stores are following the first-come first-served rule, some may not (I confirmed one) and they are giving preference to the people that pre-order the most games for the system. Needless to say, I will be up very early Monday morning and will have my schedule very well planned.

I'm planning on heading to Yonge/Eglinton at hopefully 6:00-7:00 AMish. I figure it'll hopefully be less crowded then the eatons centre.

We'll see if I make it in time though, I tried getting some info from the manager there but he wouldn't budge as to how many Wii's they were getting - he did mention only 2 PS3s though... glad I'm not trying to get one on launch.

The manager at the downtown edmonton location said that most stores should be getting 6 ps3, and 15wiis. He told me that some of the smaller locations are going to be getting less though.

He was particularly annoyed though. I guess head office isn't letting staff preorder in Canada.

OH important!

My EB manager also told me that you are allowed only 1 preorder! Meaning Wii or PS3, not both!
I see eBay is now pulling all PS3 pre orders off their site.
Yeah, you aren't allowed to sell a PS3 unless you have the physical product in your hands. The e-mail those people got are out in a few places.

not exactly true...

With ebay, the rule for pre orders is that once the auction is done, you need to be able to Produce the product within 30days.

Since it's only the 14th, and release is the 17th of Nov, ebay is gonna keep killing em till it get closer to launch.

so.... who got there's? I went to my mall at 6am and there were 4 guys standing outside the mall, 2 of them wanted a Wii. My local EB were getting 14 Wii and 7 PS3s, I was third for PS3.......mission accomplished

#3 of 9 for the Wii today. A number of people ended up dispappointed, but at 8:30, when they opened up the store for the preorders, there were only about 20 people in line.

No PS3 preorders at my EB Games. Because it's not a mall store, the manager wasn't confident that his store would be getting any. Wasn't a big deal, though -- most people were in line for the Wii, which I found really surprising.

I went at 6.00 am and was 4 of 15 for the Wii. I was able to pay for the system and Zelda in full with trades. Thanks EB Canada for having a great deal on trades for a change. $100 for an Xbox and $109 for 10 crappy Xbox games is awesome. They gave $50 extra credit if you traded in 10 or more games, and to my surprise none of my old games were excluded. Big thumbs up to EB today.

I went to visit my friends in line on the way to school at about 8:45 AM today. My friends got to the line at 7:00 AM and were like some of the last ones in what seemed to be a 30 person lineup. They didn't get a system =( Metrotown location.

Every single EB Games in Canada was taking at least 5 PS3 pre-orders.
If any of you where told by EB store management a number less than that it means they were siphoning off pre-orders for themselves or their friends.

If you encountered this at a store you went to, I would suggest calling the customer complaint line about it. EB Managers have been fired for less...

BTW, the break down was that stores had 5 PS3s/10 Wiis or 8 PS3s/14 Wiis to pre-order depending on the volume of the individual store, that was it, just two levels of allocation.
