It'll be a bundle. Wii + 2 games. Rumours are that the games are free (I bet one is Wii Sports) but I'm kinda doubting it. It's not completely out of the question because they did give a free game with the Red Nintendo DS Mario Kart bundle when it launched.

That flyer isn't even available online! Is that in all Zellersz? Even the Montreal, Quebec ones?
If the 2 games are free...I'm buying a Wii
if those 2 games are free i'm buying like 10, but anyways its a better deal to preorder it at TRU you get 2 games AND an extra controller

Toys R Us has been running that pre-order thing since February. I went in May and they had almost 20 pre-orders already. I didn't want to pre-order because I didn't know if they'd get that many units at launch (think 360). Anyway, since it was before the price announcement, I'm positive that they'll be charging you for those extra games and controller.

I'll try to head to TRU tomorrow and inquire on this.

So i went to TRU and they weren't taking any preorders anymore.

their deal is put 50$ deposit
you get the wii
+ 1 game
+ 1 controller

Zellers on the other hand were only taking 5 pre-orders(my store) starting saturday.

And you're not getting two games with it. You need to buy two games! and not any games
you have to buy ExiteTruck and Rayman. to get your pre-order

Haha Zellers is such a pathetic store, they're always so scamy with their ads. Just like the pokemon DS thing LOL...

Ya Zellers sucks majorly, at least the ones near Vancouver.

I remember a few month ago they had a BOGO sale for Player's Choice games. However, at the bottom it has a note that says, "Applies to games $29.99 and under".

So I check the forums and some people say that they've gotten non-PC games with the deal (eg. Killer 7), which makes sense because of the note at the bottom.

However, when I went to my Zellers, they said Player's Choice only. The worst part was that the deal didn't even work since the only Player's Choice game they had was Super Mario Sunshine.

I also called up other Zellers near my area, and the managers supposedly had a meeting and told the employees to ignore the note at the bottom, so all of them gave me the same answer.

The Zellers at Metrotown especially sucks. Big wall filled with PS2/XBX games for $20 (or was it $30?) and no GCN ones =/ I should check the one in Surrey Central. I go to SFU Surrey which is built into the mall so it's just down the stairs from my classes. I should have thought of asking them about it today >.

First thing this morning I pre-ordered my Wii at a Zellers in Halifax, NS. Total was $399.97 plus tax. Two games (Excite Truck & Rayman 4 it says on the slip) at $59.99 each and the system at $279.99.

Thanks to the folk who pointed it out, I'm #1! Woo!

Did you get to choose the game or did they pick for you? I want Rayman but not Excite Truck. I'm thinking of Rayman and Zelda.

Last place I'd ever preorder from is Zellers. EB is actually my favorite out here cause even if you open games, you still get time to RETURN them!!! I'd order from EB for sure...Although with my Cube for about 350 I think I got the system and 2 games...and a 2nd controller

Ya I got a good deal on mine @ launch ... I know it was either 350-400 without tax, I got 2 games, 2 controllers, and the system.

Hmm..that's a weird price for the bundle.

I'm pretty sure I've read that Wii will be priced at $279.99 in Canada, so basically the bundle has it at full price.

Furthermore, the games in the bundle are $60 each, which also seems like full price. There's also no choice on the games, correct?

Nice I got the N64 and GC at launch...the Wii I won;'t be though. Not for a few years at least. I got the PS2 now and a much busier schedule so I definitely won't have time on my hands anyway

There hasn't been much choice lately for Wii preorders, so I took what I can get. If I can get a non-bundle preorder I will, and I'll get a refund from Zellers.

If not, oh well... at least I've got a preorder in somewhere.

No, the local Toys'r'us took preorders months ago and has none left. I didn't bother with them at the time because there were too many unknowns at the time. Asking them now will get you a rather unpleasant sneer.

I got my pre-order from zellers yesterday. Its not a pre-order, it's a pre-sale. You have to buy it entirely and pick it up on novermber 19th. The 2 games are NOT free (Rayman and Excite truck) and are 60$ each. It comes to about 456 with all the taxes (damn you taxes). There. I still pre-baught it, but I still think its a rip-off. Too bad im a nintendo fan boy.... Pluz, Zellers is the closest thing to my house.

Ya I just dont wanna spend that much...plus to buy another controller, 520$, plus a memory card, 570$, plus other stuff, for sure 600 bucks.

Even though it's a forced bundle, does not mean you have to HAVE it. You can refund it on launch day and then get whatever else you want. It just guarantees that you get one.

Yeah, I was just going to say the same thing. Talked to a Zellers guy last night who pulled out a big envelope with all their info on it, and to do their "pre-order" (which is definitely more of a 'pre-sale' as mentioned earlier) you buy the console at full price ($279.99) and MUST buy those two games at full price ($59.99 each). However, there really could be NO WAY they refuse returns on those two games as they'll have their own scan codes & everything.

Sucks a bit to have to do it that way, but if Zellers is convenient for you, then it's definitely a way to go.

I haven't actually been in to a Blockbuster that does Trading - do those stores typically have consoles as well? Just thinking about trading in a bunch of (mostly older) games for credit towards a Wii (or *possibly* a 360 since I doubt I'll be able to grab a PS3) and had heard decent things about their trade-in policies/values, esp. compared to EB Games...

thanks.

Bart
