(CANADA) Wii Sports Resort- Best pre-order price?

cashinstinct

CAGiversary!
I am wondering if other CAG users are interested in Wii Sports Resort.

Up to now, I only saw it at 59.99$ at Bestbuy.ca (5$ off for pre-ordering at bestbuy.ca) and Futureshop.ca, which is way higher than I expected this product to sell at.

Any ideas on the best deal to get it?

Maybe EBGames will have a trade-3?

Go preorder Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (PS3, 360) right now because it's on the trade 3 list and it's also a gaming guarantee. Basically just make sure you return it within 7 days and you can get store credit to use towards Wii Sports Resort.

Edit: Actually by doing this you'll score yourself an extra $10 to spend on whatever you want. Transformers is going to be selling for $69.99 which is what you'll be getting back in credit.

Just a quick note, Future Shop did have a $10 off preorder promo that must have ended on Thursday which worked for Wii Sports Resort making it $50. Maybe it will pop up again in the near future. Other than that, I would agree with Afrodiziak and trade 3 for Transformers and then return within a week for full $70 credit then use it to buy WSR.

Thanks for the tips!

I remember the $10 off for pre-orders... but it seems $5 now. It might come back at $10 off.

For the Trade-3 for a gaming guarantee game, it is probably the best idea available. I hope others will take advantage of it (I do not have 3 games I want to trade and it is not easy these days to find $8+ games, not a lot of sales).

As said in previous post, taking Wii Play as an example

Wii Play price $60 - Wiimote $45 = $15 for game
Wii Sports Resort price $60 - Wii MotionPlus $25 = $35 for game.

$35 for the game might be worth it, but it didn't seem like a "full game"... will see with reviews.

Thanks for the tips!

Well, I only want the game and not the Wii Motion Plus because I got that with Tiger Woods. I would expect the game to retail for $49.99 but that's not going to happen. I want Sports Resort but I want to know if there's a lot of gameplay for the money. I'm not going to pay full price for a bunch of mini-games, even if it's mini-games at their most fun, like the 3-point shooting contest.

Hmm good point, but I see WSR as being much better and having better advertising than Wii Play, so maybe it'll be worth $35. I mean, I probably would've paid $35 for Wii Sports.

Well it is 12 or so games that are more fully fleshed out than the 5 that were found on the first Wii Sports including updated versions of 2(?) the games found on said Sports 1. In addition I would imagine the game would have Sport 1's extras which include tracking how much you play, a fitness mode etc.

And why shouldn't you have two M+s since Wii Sports is meant to be played with two or more players. :p

I'll have a tough time choosing between this and Tiger Woods. Tiger has received excellent reviews, but I wonder if it's just the initial 'oh this is what it should have been doing in the first place, it's incredible' fixation, or if it really is that great. The original Wii Sports had some value in its simplistic pickup and play fashion.. so we'll see.
