Canadians Take Note or How I made $15k in Blockbuster Credit.

Canadians Blockbuster Canada has decided that they are going to get into the games trading and DVD trading business.

Good for them.

I am aware that many of you may think I am an ass after reading this.

Good for you.

In the meantime heres the deal.

I love it when massive companies jump blindly into something without properly doing their research. Rogers video decdied about 5 years ago to do the same, needless to say they dont trade games anymore.

Back to Block. Here it is, ANY GAME Min of $8 in store credit, ANY GAME hell madden 2003's there were at a time giving $15 and World Series Baseball's $18.

I knew that they would ban me eventually, however it took them 3 months. There are million ways arounds this, new name, new account, friends account, paying off local Blockbuster Employee, whatever.

Heres the deal if done properly there is no reason why you cant turn $100-$200 a week into at least $1000.

They are probally going to be banning certain titles now, as one would expect, or would have thought they would have done in the first place. But in the meantime get all your crap topgether and take it down to your local Blockbuster, or if your so inclined order a couple hundred old sports titles off ebgames.com for next to nothing and bring them in 2 titles per day per store.
(Dont forget cag16 your edge card and saver shipping :p)

I took this to the extreme, the one day record for hitting stores was 16, recieving a credit of $176 at each. Most of the other times I would just hit the 5 or six that are within 10 mins driving distance from me on a more or less daily basis.

So I have cooled off now that they have banned my one account, that and well, how much Blockbuster credit does one really need.

Point is you could get yourself a pretty badass dvd collection for about $200 right now, however the door may be closing soon.

Then again this is Blockbuster and being an ex-manager, they can be a little slow on the trigger sometimes.

There are some who are bound to say Im an ass and I ruin things for others, no its more like Im an ass that finds loop holes and then drives trucks through them until they are closed.

This site is filled with people who will call you an ass even though you followed the rules and did nothing illegal...I saw nothing wrong with what you did, its no different then the 500+ page of FYE credit topic. Anyhow thanks for the tips, even though i dont have a Gamecrazy :( or gamerush :*(

why would anyone call you an ass? this trade in stuff is nothing new and has been abused for god knows how long, you just took it to the extreme, thats all. A little TOO extreme.

look around the site, there are EB abuse topics, GS abuse, FYE abuse...etc

I say good for you.

How long does their credit last???
As I'd wait for BluRay to hit to start collecting movies.
Either that, or open up your own movie rental place, using their movies.
:)

Enjoy.

You're not an ass you're a genius. In fact anyone who says you're an ass is stupid because they couldn't come up with such a brilliant idea.

Somone above mentioned opening your own movie store.

The best part of that is you dont even need massive capital, well you do, however this is another fun Block loop hole.

I know some independent store folks who are now purchasing one copy of a dvd, the then laser print colour inserts, they then go to blockbuster and thanks to the magic of "no late fees", they can rent dvds for 39 days at a cost of about $7 each total.

Its insane, some stores are now renting block product as opposed to just buying their own. This is twice as , uhh "effective", on non triple A titles, you know the stuff they only get 5 - 10 copies of, they go in rent all 5 or 10 and then not only do they get them cheap for almost 40 days, Big Blue across the street doesnt have them for 40 days.

15k.......are you saying 15,000 or did you just mistake 15k for 1500. either way, nice work. I wish they did that in the states.

Or we have lives... take your choice.

EDIT:

Don't forget, its canadian money... 15k equals 15 cents.

Damn Help1, that might be the first funny thing I've ever heard you say. Good show, sir!

No I mean $15,000.00 I would usually end up with about $1000.00 a day. My best day I ended up with about $3000. My DVD collection is quite retarded now. Not to mention I have been giving friends and family PS2's and Xboxes and what not as gifts. Thus I am only left with a few hundred. I at one point had about 8 trading cards maxed out at their $500 each.

Most Blockbusters in Canada now trade. There is only one around here that doesnt due to paper work and legal restrictions. The only game they never took for some reason was Rugby for PS2.

So they all trade, Min $8 for Games Min $5 for DVD. World series baseball for xbox, the very first one for example they give $18, there was a time I was picking them up for $2.99 less coupons.

Remeber when NBA LIve 2004 was $2.99? Yeah Block up here in the great white north was giving $15 in credit, pretty good return. I probably did about 60 or so of that title alone. 2 per store per day, remember play by the rules :)

One store called me up, the manager and I got along quite well, in fact almost all employees and I got along great. He told me that I should fight the coporation blah blah blah as I was playing by there rules...I was just playing a lot...

I have basically tired of things, and well dont have much more of a intrest in trading anymore. So my banning came at a good time. In the meantime I will use one of my other accounts that hasnt been banned to do more basic trading.

It was fun while it lasted.
So any Blockbuster will take copies of any sports games from 2003 and older? Also, the games have to be complete, correct?
Most here in Canada now do, at least in Ontario. They have to have cases, I never had any turned down for not have instructions, most of what I traded had them.

Then again this is all new for these guys so they are working out the kinks.

Posting here that you give away games and consoles to friends and family is gonna get you a lot of cheapass beggars / lurkers bothering you.

ps: -_- me sucky sucky for psp -_- :wink wink:
