Capcom says Wii is a Kiddie console
I like it how people say most Wii owners are kids yet never show a shred of evidence to prove it. Same with Capcom.

The funny thing is that if you go on Xbox Live and play Gears of War or Halo 2 all you will see are 13 year olds flaming each other, but Xbox isn't a kiddie console right?

You forget, the people who read these forums, and those like it, are a very, very small percentage of gamers. It has been shown that game reviews have little to no effect on the sales.

Thus, the evidence I have is in the fact that the games which are selling are the onesdesigned for children.

Along with the screaming 13 year olds, are the screaming 14, 15, ... 20 (myself) ... 40 year olds.

If the same game were released on the wii, you would hear... well first of all nothing. As there is no microphone, and probably the... I'm just going to stop this sentence here. I actually can't imagine this.

You can't imagine silence? It's easy, just imagine the Capcom Clover offices, or the officies of the Sega Hardware Division.

Dummy, I said Birdo was cool in supermariobros 2, not anymore.
The Wii mote picks up hand motions, but has a very hard time picking up arm motions.
The system is anything but a success right now.
Commericial success yes, but with the games out right now it is not yet a gaming success. Most people probably bought it for the VC and will only buy 8 games.
smash bros and paper mario look awesome and will control much better with anything other than the wiimote.
PS. miis are a pathetic idea

That's the one where the manual said "Birdo is a boy who likes to dress up like a girl."

You must really like him then, if you don't care for the revisions that marked Birdo as a girl.

Birdo lover.

Your cool.
Since I still have the intruction booklet I will see if you know what your talking about. Birdo was a better boss than anything in the new supermariobros.
40 year old virgin?
PS yes the wii is kiddie compared to the others
This type of statement annoys the heck out of me. How does a game like the upcoming Cooking Mama or Big Brain Academy appeal to kids? Just because a game isn't filled with gore doesn't mean it has appeal for adults. Wii Play almost sounds too simple for the 12-21 year old gamers and seems aimed just as much to the 30+ gamer as it does for the 4-10 year olds.

I've always wondered why Eternal Darkness never got a sequel.
The game sold poorly. In fact, it sold so poorly that it broke several laws of mathematics. The end result is that it not only no longer exists, but its non-existence is so complete that it is what I term a "Negative Substance". Should one of these substances ever be brought into existence, leading scientists believe that many scientific laws - including both the first and second laws of thermodynamics - will cease to be.
"Kiddie" is an interesting concept. I've always felt that most "Mature" rated games were huge misnomers. When you mature, you don't have an unending desire to just kill things and swear. That's immaturity. Not to say that it doesn't have its place in entertainment, but it's hardly what I would term a "mature" concept. People have said it before, and it's worth restating. Hotel Dusk is one of the most mature games to come out in recent years. Yes, it deal with a murder, but it's not a murderous rampage, and there's hardly a bit of profanity and not even a scantily-clad woman in the game. "T for Teen" maybe, but certainly requires a maturity level beyond Grand Theft Auto to enjoy.

"Kiddie" on the other hand to me means "Family Friendly." If the Wii isn't awash with blood-bath games I guess I'm not going to be really concerned. Nintendo's games, though cartoony in style by-and-large, are quality titles. If Capcom can give us more quality, styled games (Okami & Viewtiful Joe anyone?) then that's fine with me.

this whole arguement is stupid. You're never going to change anyone's opinion. If they need the whole bs macho Gears thing in every game they play, fine, I say it gets boring, I want variety in my games.

I want to play Viva Pinata along with Gears, I want to play Wario Ware and Mario along with Call of Duty and FEAR. Why can't we enjoy it all? Why the need for labels? It's all very immature and shallow. Just play fun things, stop worrying about the image..

Hey I say it's a great thing that the Wii has these titles. Any parent choosing between Wii and PS3 is going to go for the Wii everytime. I don't see how it's a bad thing to have these games available as options to broaden the market. If you've honestly already had time to fully play everything that came out this winter and you're so bored that you feel these are your only Wii options, you need to get out more.

Oh, and next time you try to look smart, look up reviews. Chicken Little is actually a decently good Ratchet and Clank style Gadget filled Platformer. But I suppose you were just too shallow to look past the cover to see that, weren't you?

umm, those are all ports from the PS2 and Xbox, so... I hope this was a joke.

Well, one issue is for people like me that only have a Wii and not a 360 is that if publishers like Capcom have this "kiddie" conception of the Wii and don't put their m-rated games on it we won't be able to get much of this variety on the Wii.

I don't care about the image, but I care about the image scaring developers out of putting m-rated games on the Wii--especially since they have to be designed for the Wii to be anything other than shitty halfed assed ports like Call of Duty 3.
