I've see a lot of people want this game and since i have two copies i'm gonna let one go. Castlevania Chronicles is one of the rarest of the rare PS1 games, released late in the life of the PS so it wasn't massively produced. My copy is nearly new, owned by me, it's complete, scratchless disk and works perfectly.

Since i usually trade and since i can never find a perfect trade I'm gonna sell this baby. I know this is CAG so I don't expect to get the ebay prices and since I don't like the hassle, and fees, of ebay this is the best choice. You can place a bid here(include shipping with it) or you can PM me, if you want you can do money and a game or two depending on the game. Mostly i want money so i can buy my own games.

Please don't take up room with stupid posts, sometimes these get flammed and I'm just trying to unload my game. The last thing is regardless of your feedback here i will ask you to send first. Right now I have +14 and am waiting for one to clear. So i have 15 positive trades, 63 on ebay and so on. There are quite a few people who can vouche for my credibility here. I accept any form of payment except Paypal. So let me know here or in a PM if anyone is interested!

*****I also have Castlevania 2 complete for the NES, i would consider doing some kind of deal if you want both, i will do them seperately if need be.******

I'd like to ask you something. Why any method of payment but Paypal? I've noticed alot of active traders/sellers saying this lately. Is there something I should know about Paypal? I've always found it to be secure. Am I wrong? Just curious.
It's very simple, I don't belong to Paypal.
Do you simply not hold a Paypal account? Do you refuse to for any specific reason, perhaps involving the security of your account? I just want to know if anyone knows something I don't. I often use Paypal, and I got a bit nervous when I saw active traders saying they wouldn't get involved with it.

Yeah i heard a number like 30,000 before, and compared to a GH game which has sold 1,000,000 before being reissued and having thousands more made, 30,000 ain't much, and for something like Castlevania which a large following it's a wanted game.

As for paypal, I have nothing against it and im sure it's safe but i simply don't need it. I rarely buy or sell here or on ebay so it's not worth the 2 minutes of my time to register. It would be useful in times like this but i don't want the fees of Paypal however small i hear they are.

Back on topic, I'm still kicking myself for passing up a new sealed copy of this at Fry's for $10 about a year and a half ago.

It's very unfriendly to sellers anymore. As a buyer, you get a lot of control, and you're charged no fee for your payment, so obviously, it seems favorable on that end. But as a seller, you pay fees on every payment received (including the people who jump the gun to pay for an auction, then underpay and send another, smaller payment for the difference), and some devious or just plain idiotic buyers can really muck things up, and all of the terms are set up to be pro-buyer, almost to ridiculous levels.

Let me give you a very recent example. A friend of mine does a lot of eBay business, and about a year and a half ago picked up some relatively cheap stock during a sale at a brand-name store. (I know I'm being vague, I just want to point out this item came from the official store in a mall, not some place shady I'm "conventiently" forgetting.) He sold the item in October, and sent it off. About... was it two months later? The buyer contacted him, saying (she, I think) wanted her money back, because it was a bootleg, it didn't have the official tag. My friend knows it's legimate, but makes a good faith effort to check around with other sellers, and no, that item was never produced with a tag. He talked with the woman about it, and she went quiet. Time passed.

Now, in late August, there's suddenly a Paypal notification: The woman decided it was still a bootleg, and did a charge-back of $40. It gets better. My seller friend had 48 _HOURS_ to dispute this, or it automatically defaulted to the seller. Yes, two whole days. He caught it, sent in his response, and he gets a notification that it could take them over a MONTH to process the decision. And if they contact him for more information at any point, and he doesn't respond within 48 hours, it still defaults to her.

Maybe I've mucked up one or two details, because I heard this all as an angry recount, but look at that from a seller's standpoint: unexpectedly, 10 months later, a user could refute a purchase, and if you don't catch it in time and properly respond, not only do you lose what the buyer paid, but they KEEP the item, whether the claim was legitimate or not. When you have that to contend with, and mounting Paypal fees, it's just not worth the stress to many sellers anymore. But as a buyer, of course you want it, because there's no penalty to you for using it, and it gives you so much control.

Thanks for the insight Kulock. I've never sold anything on Ebay, and didn't realize the problems it created for sellers. My biggest concern is that outside the realm of Ebay though. I often use paypal for personal transactions, like trading here for example. Is there anything I should be worried about in that regard?

Got stung on PayPal. Sold a Dreamcast arcade stick, the buyer paid with PayPal. Everything was fine, until I got a notice from PayPal saying the buyer disputed the transaction, that someone had hacked both their Ebay and PayPal accounts. Well, after sending both them and PP a USPS tracking number, I still lost out on 50 bucks.

It all seemed shady to me, I even called PP, they pretty much told me toughsh##. Their address and email address were both listed on PayPal, and that' s where I shipped it. So to make a long story short, I don't use PayPal anymore.

If I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be) if you immediately transfer any payments you recieve from your paypal account to your bank account paypal can't take any money from you.

Paypal f*cked me over a few times in the same way. I sued in small claims court and got my money back. It's all part of their buyer protection plan. They allow buyers to purchase insurance from Paypal. This is just a big scam, however, because if the buyer files a claim, Paypal pays it by taking the money from the seller. It's illegal because they don't actually offer the service they provide. Their user contract requires you to agree to this, but the contract has been ruled illegal (I think it's called a contract of contrition or something like that). If this ever happens to anyone, fly to San Jose, CA and sue them in small claims. You can make 'em pay for your plane tickets when you win, and they'll probably never f*ck with you again. They've been sued hundreds of times for this, and lost every suit.

If you live in California, use PayPal, and haven't sued them before, you should have received an e-mail about a class action lawsuit. Apparently, they could be paying up a lot of dough, and some of that will go to you if you file a claim in the suit. If you're a Californian and have experienced anything like these horror stories, I would recommend looking into it: http://www.settlement4onlinepayments.com/index.php3

Actually they will suck money out of your bank account, or if they don't have your bank account #, they charge your credit card and will hold the money for over 100 days while they look at the disputed case. I think the only reason I even use paypal is because its so much of a hassle to wait a week for cashiers checks and money orders.

Not to be rude but can we get off the paypal sucks wagon and stick with the topic, i get excited to see posts but no bids. I appreciate the bumps though.

Adding Castlevania 2 to the party, i edited the original post for more info. PM me with questions. I'd like money for the games but would consider half money half trade if it sounds good.
*Gives BigHow the evil eye* PM sent, too. :p
Heh, not trying to cut you out, man. I just prefer to discuss terms over PMs than on threads. :D
