Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Releasing late October, Price $29.99

I've been wondering about those boss things too.

This game isn't as hard as everyone is making it out to be. Yes, I do die more than most games but it's my fault when I do. All you have to do is be patient with enemies and figure out their weaknesses.

Yeah you can grind. From what I've heard about MM 9 being the hardest MM game ever, this isn't even close to as hard. I hate getting frustrated over difficult games myself (that's why I never played through Trauma Center), but this game isn't like that. Gamers are such wussies anymore it seems like.

I agree, games like this and mm9 arent impossible, they just take dedication to the game. Id rather play a hard game then run through one and not feel like I did much. This game does have some hard bosses and you get hit harder, but at the same time, every lvl seems to make more of a difference. Also its about matching your glyphs to their weeknesses and find stratagies. Im not a "hardcore" gamer and I can handle it.

grinding is a must for this game not so much levelling up but for finding items and stuff dropped by enemies. and to find some of the thing you need its kind of necessary/helpful to backtrack.

Exactly. I die a lot, but I don't get too frustrated because the bosses don't seem cheap; they just hit for a lot of damage. Whenever I get hit it's cause I was dumb.

So, anyone want to chime in on what those medals do for beating bosses without getting hit?

Nothing. Except your sense of accomplishment. ;)

And you can complete the item bestiary.

The animation of the lead is nice. I wish that that the various armor changes had a material change on the characters looks.

Otherwise.... I'll get back once I try out the first boss...

Review on Wired is saying this could be the best Castlevania game ever and I have to agree. I haven't had a game in this series feel this right since Symphony of the Night.
I want to kill the crab boss without getting hit but he hits me at least once. Damn you crabby pants.
just keep to the left hand corner alot of the time and use your sickle. or was it the hammer? his pattern is really easy to figure out.

whooo! I'm a happy dood!!

I came home and checked the mail and my amazon copy was there!

I'm hearing so many good things about this... finally gotta check it out!!

happy dance!!!

all I need now is my DJ Max Clazziquai to arrive then I'll be the dood!!

This game is so much easier if you use potions or any heal items. Of course, due to my insane bad luck, the drop rate have been pretty bad of me even with Thief Ring and Treasure hat.

man I'm glad I read this page before starting my game.

rewards for beating a boss without getting hit??? sheeeeyit man I'm all over that!!

I already beat the first 2 with no problem and are rocking their medals... it was as easy as pie.

:waits for game to become challenging:

By the time you figure out the bosses and can beat them, you usually take very little damage anyway so the medals aren't really a huge challenge.

taking very little damage and taking no damage are two totally different things.

I'm only trying to separate the pros from the scrubs.

The only reason I take very little damage at all is because I am doing so well and I know I have plenty of health to spare so I don't care if I get hit once or twice. What I'm saying is you figure the boss out and could perfect it without much more effort. That's how it is with me at least.

Once I saw the enemy Crab I kept saying to myself "Shit a giant enemy crab?" "Massive Crab. Massive Damage."

So far so good but obviously I'm not that far. Better then SOTN though? Seriously?

Not only that, but pretty soon you'll get the ability to have real time weapons switching.
Someone on PA asked how you beat that giant enemy crab. I had to sit on my hands in order to not tell them the answer.
you should have told them the wrong way ....

yup! I got real time weapon switching now...

sooooo good!!

I got one set for my main attack shyt, another set for my axe, and the last set with 2 knives aka super move of death

Sooo..... I got the "soundtrack" from Amazon. Which was just a zip file of MP3s, but no meta data (track info, ect).

Does anyone know where I can find what the songs are supposed to be called?

Use Google you noob!: http://vgmdb.net/album/10714

3 bosses down... 3 medals get ^_^b

the knife super move maaaad sucks... off 70 hearts I only had enough to do 2 attacks and Boss #3 did not take that much damage.

I beat him using Axe and Lightning in general to attack him, but you get 4 super attacks with that combo off 70 hearts and it does waaaaaaaay more damage.

That weapon combo is actually perfect for killing that guy! It seems so far every boss has a set of weapons that jus work so well against them.

Just curious... anyone found out if there is a loophole with getting the medals? By that I mean using a health item right before you kill a boss to bring your health back up to full.

I don't know when I'm suppose to tackle the two bonus dungeons. Is it after I finish Dracula's castle? (Training ground & the other one) I get killed very often at those two places.
I got the Wallman metal. That one is so easy. I cant believe how long it took me to figure it out.
I didn't know that there was a platform up there. So I had the same problem. The grim reaper is totally easy with the wind barrier speed ability.

Edit #1: Yeah, I beat dracula, now to beat those two bonus dungeons.

Ok, wtf is up with the Dowsing Hat? Does it work, and, if so, how? Has anyone had success using it to find hidden items?

I was wearing it around to some of the earlier levels last night looking for treasure I might have missed. It never made any sound at all that I could tell, even though at more than one point I did in fact find some hidden items in breakable walls (a Ruby and Konami Man).

I missed a door in dracula's castle and of course it was one that led to dracula. Im lvl 50 and I dont think thats enough to beat him.

Also how do the allies (such as owls and spiders) level up? Is it just a hidden vaule, like POR's weapon mastering? Or is there something else to do?

level 50 IMO should be more than enough to beat him. I bet I could prolly beat him at level 1 =P

to level up your summons u needa either keep absorbing the glyphs, or let them kill like 1000 enemies...

I read that on gamefaqs super faq thread in the forums btw, u should check it out

Dracula is dead. Actually he was dead 2 weeks ago and I was too lazy to post. Now to tackle the two remaining dungeons which drive me crazy. For summon, I find it takes too long to upgrade them. I use the spider a lot.

There's a better way to do this:
Kill the....what's it called... It's not the Bugbear, but it looks exactly like it. It's this big eyeball thing with a tail, and it floats around. You run into one REALLY early in Dracula's castle. Anyway it'll drop the "Eye for Decay," which makes breakable walls show up when you walk by them by having this green sonar stuff appear out of it.

Usually this enemy shows up in Castlevania games, and he almost ALWAYS drops an item that does this. Pretty sure it was the same in SoTN, and probably was identical in the GBA/DS titles.

I'm right at the point where I need to go take down Dracula. Would have done it quicker but I've decided to get all the medals (even though I missed the crab one, and even though I know I could get it quickly and easily). Also I tend to like to grind out rare drops, even though I hardly ever find one worth using.

Fun game. Once I take him down I need to go do that Large Cavern, which is a bitch.
