I was thinking about getting an extra AV cable and power supply so I could easily move my 360 from my projector to my TV. Easy, right? wrong. Not a single retail store actually sells Power Supplys (official or offbrand), but the 5 or so on ebay are going for $80 each.

Well, to be fair, they are classifield as a lethal weapon by ATF, so maybe that has something to do with it. ;)

You might wanna try calling Microsoft.

Yeah, directly contacting Microsoft would be cheaper, but it'll still probably be like $60 plus shipping. That sucks dude, my dog chewed up some of my important cords too.

I am going to be living in France starting in september and I need to get my 360 working over there. I tried contact both the US and French Xbox support people and both reps told me that I could not get a replacement unit from them. The US rep told me to buy a french 360, and the french rep said that I might be able to by a 3rd party PS in a retail store. Has anyone (besides the hackaday guy) gotten their North American 360 to work over in Europe?

lol, read again, his cat didn't chew his PS

Months later I'm still shocked we have not had a replacement power supply available (Neither official nor 3rd party). WTF?

I'm guessing that MS is trying to find a way to make these power supply units better... but they've probably failed and gave up.

Honestly, you see power cords for every system, both official and third party, but it's strange that they can't release one for the 360. Maybe there are safety issue which prevent it from being sold alone?

Couldn't you just connect the plug to a 220v adaptor like other electronics?

Is France NTSC or PAL? That could be another concern...

I guess I could look into a step down transformer, but I figured a replacement power supply would be a better solution.

I bought a VGA cable for my 360, and I was planning to do my gaming on my computer monitor. I don't plan to buy myself a new 360 and a TV for the few months that I'm in France, but I still want to play.

Don't go to France you French hippy! Or buy the adaptor like someone said, that can't cost as much as a power brick plus you can use it for more than just your 360...
