I bought a copy at... ... eugh... GameStop... to ensure I had the preorder goodies. If my buy.com parcel arrives without them, I keep the GS copy. If not, I return a copy to GS.

Speaking of which, you guys said the art book and CD came shrinkwrapped around the box with the buy.com copies? With the silver sticker on the front saying FREE ART BOOK SOUNDTRACK INCLUDED?

I just want to make sure as I think I'll open the GS copy and play it now, return the Buy.com copy to GS.
Yes, that's exactly how my buy.com copy came.

Fantastic. Got mine and it did not come with the art book and soundtrack CD. Chatted with the live rep and am waiting "a business day" to let them get back to me. They won't have the CD nor the art book unless they are giving Atlus some mega blowjobs so it's going to be refund and no more buy.com business from me.

Worse, they made me patronize GameStop to make up for their mistake. Unforgivable.

Can I assume all you guys that didn't get the artbook/cd packages ordered after release? Or did you get preorder fails? Also what platform? Just curious. I preordered mine a while ago for PS3 and got all the goodies I was expecting.

I preordered the 14th of July. Should have been plenty of time.

It took them a day after release to ship it, which was when I sent them a ticket asking where it was and if they were going to get me the book/CD with it. Canned response.

It was my understanding that Atlus' entire initial shipment of this game should have included the artbook and soundtrack. Usually with Atlus, a preorder bonus is really only a preorder bonus in the sense that customers that preorder will be guaranteed a copy from the initial launch production batch (see Radiant Historia) because those orders are the first orders that retailers ship. When every single retailer from Amazon to your locally owned video game store have the same preorder bonus for a game, it's because the publisher is packaging the bonus with every copy of the game they send out initially, regardless of how many preorders were taken. Long story short, even if you didn't preorder, as long as you ordered this game soon after launch it should have included the bonuses.

Did people that got theirs ordered the game with the alternate cover? Because I don't think there was any mention of the pre-order bonus if you ordered the alternate cover.
Just got mine from Buy.com; didn't have the artbook nor CD ffs >_>
Same here. Spoke to customer service and said they are verifying with their supplier.

I really wish they would not waste our time doing that. The first run and first run only had that stuff and they are clearly out of the first run of the game. You're not getting more so let me unwrap my Gamestop copy and just take the hit to the wallet.

Eugh, sorry, frustrated as hell that a good deal turned lousy by losing the only incentive I had to not wait for $30 on Catherine.

I actually didn't get an artbook or ost on that pre order sadly. But since Buy.com botched the order twice (slow shipping and wrong item) along with the 20 dollar credit they gave me a $10 gift card and a $10 refund.

They too didn't give me the soundtrack/artbook despite preordering.

I was extremely pissed off and talked to customer service. They granted me a $7 refund after a somewhat lengthy conversation.

I'm definitely sticking with Amazon from now on. The fact that buy.com also charges you before the product even ships annoys me, or how the $20 credit isn't instant...

But yea, now I have to go through the hassle of getting the artbook through other means (ie separately) which will end up costing me even more than just getting it from Amazon in the first place.

My EXACT feelings as well.

I ordered in the morning of 7/27 and did not get the soundtrack & the book. Got $10 back after speaking to someone through online chat, and was assured that this will not affect the 2000 points pending. So the price ends up being $47, with $20 buy.com credit. I guess not too bad. Better than waiting for price drop.

I don't like them because they charge sells tax in CA. Now this Catherine fiasco is another reason to keep me away from them.

Their offer of $10 credit was enough to mollify me, which I then took and the $5 tax I would have paid going Gamestop and ended up ebaying the art book. We'll see how that works.

Because, you know what, you can't make me shop at Gamestop. No matter how hard you try (Well, okay, exception: cheap peripherals, a la the WWE All Stars Brawlpad, and the codes they don't do anymore that let me get RDR at a decent rate, except my Deadly Assassin was bugged for months and it wasn't even any added gameplay. Boo.). My last day at GS will be the day they have finally decided that all I do with them is buy and return stuff and ban me from returns.

Overall, not impressed with buy.com but apparently they gave YOU all the runaround already and didn't have enough runaround left for me so it could have been worse.

I ended up ordering the game from Amazon 2 days ago, taking a chance on the artbook/soundtrack. It arrived today, and lo and behold, it was sealed with the game and included!

Amazon is awesome and really, I should've kept my preorder with them in the first place. Always reliable, and will correct mistakes quite easily should they occur.

Now I have an extra copy of Catherine to sell. Greaaat. (Didn't want to buy the artbook separately from eBay since I despise/refuse to do business with them.)

Any suggestions where I can sell it for ~$50 (after fees) just to break even?

Also sucks that the chat rep I talked to only granted me $7 (seems a bit arbitrary) rather than the $10 you guys got. I suppose my 4.5% cashback from bigcrumbs kinda makes up for it.

Now you guys have me worried. I waited till the 31st of July to order my copy from Amazon and it still listed the artbook/soundtrack in the listing there.

What's worse is since I no longer have Prime it's taking forever and a day to get here.

Of course I'll probably thumb through the artbook ONCE and never even listen to the CD, but the fact that the listing still said it was going to come with them means it better come with them.

Don't worry, there's a good chance you'll still get the artbook/CD. Like my earlier post said, I ordered on August 1 and it arrived yesterday (had Prime) with the goodies.

The concern throughout this thread is the godawful buy.com that clearly ran out of copies with the items long ago (even for people like me that preordered it).

The fact that you bought from Amazon instead is definitely the best way to go.

I should mention that I bought the less popular 'Alternate' cover version, but you should still have a good shot with the Standard cover.

If I didn't mind spending real cash on the game I could've had it already from Gamestop last week(w/ the artbook/soundtrack) and returned the copy I'm getting from Amazon to GS when it comes in.

But after the recent rash of games having differing UPC's depending on which retailer you buy them from due to different pre-order DLC or whatever being included I'd rather not take a chance that I get stuck with a second copy.

Does the standard and ce have the art book and soundtrack packed in?

Hearing some don't? Will it only be included in the early print run like the costume skin dlc in mortal kombat? I'm thinking of picking up 1 ce for each console at Gamestop and hope the artbook and soundtrack are included inside the.pizza box .

How did they include those items in the standard editions anyways. Seems too big to fit inside chic and ps3 cases. Was it shrinkwrapped on the outside or do retailer clerks just hand then to you?

I believe only the first run of the standard had the cd and artwork it was shrink wrap with the game. when you open the shrink wrap the cd and artbook are on the back and then the game has another shrink around it.

I believe all CE's will always have the artbook and soundtrack. I don't believe there is a second run of CE's

I was informed by email today (after chatting with a CSR yesterday) that the product (Catherine Alternate Boxart PS3) is no longer available, so my preorder was automatically canceled. That's pretty crappy, IMHO.

I got a side question, I preorder a copy of game from both gamestop and buy and buy.com version didn't comer with artbook. Will Gamestop notice if I return the copy without the artbook to them?

It's pretty obvious since every copy of theirs has the artbook shrinkwrapped to the back. If they are alert they'd know you're pulling a fast one on them.

Hmm, I was also one of the people that didn't get the sound disc & art book though I preordred. They gave me a $5 refund...but guess what: I just received the sound disc & art book in the mail today?

Not sure if they got some extra copies or what, but I still appreciate it.

If anyone has played more than the demo, what do you think so far? I'm really interested in this game, but Deus Ex comes out next week and that game is just too goddamn glorious to pass up.

I don't consider myself a slouch, but I find this game is extremely challenging and fun at the same time. The story caters to my sense of humor very well, so I have been captivated since the first cutscene. When it comes down to it, this game pretty much has everything: entertaining story, entertaining gameplay and a lot of replayability.
