Wel, I came back today from desperately trying to find some scraps at CC, to not much avail:
Ring of Red
Rygar
GTA Collector's Edition
Smuggler's Run 2
Tenchu Wrath of HEaven

When what do I discover? My brother took the other 8 games form my room and sold them for cash to Gamestop. Now, these were pretty common titles (Okage, Legia 2, Bouncer etc), but he also sold my MP4, which I wanted damnit! I forced him to give me the money he got, which thankfully covered the cost of the games and a few more, but shit man, that's THEFT. I thought about beating his ass as a little lesson, but I wanted to get your opinion.

Thankfully though, he didn't find my copy of BOF2 and Phantasy Star Online(GC), only because I put them in a box that looks like an 8-bit NES. Seriously. At anyrate, how shoudl I punish this guy?

Did he do the trade today? If so, get your ass up to GameStop NOW. This happens all the time at my store, and if the person who actually owned the games comes back in the same day and can prove to me that they were the rightful owners of the traded games, we will give them back the games, ask for the money back, and void the transaction. Do this NOW NOW NOW.

Also, how did he trade for cash? Did he have an adult with him? Gamestop can't trade cash to minors without an adult with them.

how old is he? Go back to gamestop with him if he's underage and tell them he was not of legal age to sell games and he took them without your permission and you want them back. Pretty sure the law states you have to be 18 to sell games for cash at those store, but most clerks piss on that law.

I already caled, and they (the other gamestop, not the one I work at) already sold some, and all they can offer me is a shitty "other copy". I'm just screwed now, I guess. Like I said, all the titles were pretty common, and the only one I really wanted was MP. Now, I'm thinking of revenge.

He's right, it's law (at least in TX). And give the employee who rang him up a kick in the face for breaking the law as well.

Also RF, don't you work for Gamestop? Did he trade at the store you work at? This should make it all the easier to get your stuff back.

EDIT Just saw your last post. Sorry man. Sounds like it's time to kick some sibling ass.

Wait, did your brother have someone with him over 18 to do the cash trade? If not, you may be able to dispute it. It's more the employee's fault for letting your brother trade for cash. Who knows, you may be able to get something out of this situation.

EDIT Dammit, I keep posting a question as you post the answer. Sorry man, I think you are out of luck on this.

Yea, beat the bejesus out of that little cracker. STEALING? That's just wrong, even between brothers. And if you think HE can kick YOUR ass, do the only other optional thing.......MOMMY!!!!

Do you have a car? Make him wash it.

If you don't, find some other way to punish him, and punish him good. Something that will let him know you will not tolerate this shit in the future and if he's stupid enough not to have learned his lesson, he'll pay.

And I suggest putting a lock on the door to your room if possible.

Yeah, he's staying the night with his friend tonight because he's afraid that I'm going to kick the bejesus out of him and he's right. I'll catch him later though. Led, I may be willing to let ROR go, but do you have anythig else? I might be up for ICO, but other than that....

Don't worry everyone, I'm going to literally kick the ever-loving fuck out of him. It's ok though, I still have PSO and BOF 2, and I also scored a LOZ: Coollector's Ed too!!(See Deals forum)

Agreed. You know, it's not just the fact that my own blood stole from me, while I was away, and with the intent to not even notify me; the slap in the face comes from the fact tht he traded them to a place that I absolutely hate with all of my soul. I think I'll NEVER buy another game at Gamestop again, even though I do get 15% off.

Man if there was ever a time to put foot to ass this is it, he stole your shit without any warning and sold them, I guess thinking you wouldn't miss 8 games?! At the very least that deserves a solid back hand.

At age 17, he should have the money to replace the games. Just tell him that he has 2 weeks to replace the games at whatever cost he finds them at. If he doesn't then do whatever you want to him.

I agree, this is an excellent idea. All of them should be SEALED too. Get that fucking bastard on his ass!

Even? especially between brothers. He only had access to your stuff because he was family. He abused trust that is taken for granted so much we don't even think of it as trust.

Personally, I'd make him get NEW copies of the missing games. What would have happened if he'd taken them from a friend's brother?

P.S. are you sure that's all that's missing?
