If you buy either of the Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray movies you get a $15 gift card. The deal is supposed to be if you buy them both you get a $15 gift card but I bought both and got 2 $15 gift cards. They ring up in the system $14.99 with $15 gift card.

you're positive about this ? If it is true than good deal. Do you think is it nationwide ? or just your area ^__^;
It's like getting free movies

No they arent free but I see where my post looks that way now.

Subtotal: $59.98
Sales Tax: $2.02
Total: $$62.00 with 2 $15 gift cards

On the CC receipt: PotC BD $14.99
Pirates507GC $15.00

Its like that on the receipt so you cant return them for $30 and pocket the gift cards.

wait I'm confuse, why is subtotal is 59.98 when you said the movies ring up at 14.99. Isn't it suppose to be 30.00 ( with 2 movies ) and 30 giftcard ?

thats the way CC do their promos. They can't just give you the GC for free so they mark down POTC to 14.99 and sell you the GC for 14.99. Effectively making your total purchase 29.99 which is the retail price of the movie. Basically you're getting a free $15 gift card. can anyone else confirm this glitch?

Man.... CIrcuit City can't seem to get anything right......

yes they will but I wouldn't recommend refusing the package because that leaves you wide open for theft as anyone can take the package and there would be nothing you can do about it. You're better off sending it back on your own so that way you can track the package.
I have an order from amazon arriving tomorrow. If I refuse the package will they give me a refund? Thanks.
Just don't open them and return them to amazon. Its easy and hassle-free.

Thanks guys. How long do the refund usually take?

When I did it, I was refunded within a week over sending it back.

Thanks, I going to go try this CC thing.

totally works at CC. just got back. the cashier girl was like "thats a pretty good deal, getting 2 15 dollar giftcards." I completely agreed.

Yea I'd hurry up and get in on this deal because there is a limited supply of those gift cards. The GC"s are kinda cool they have a disc built into them.

how is this a glitch if its $15 for the gift card? If you return the movies, you spent $60, and get $30 back...the $30 in gift cards remains and you are left with $30 in gift cards for $30

I get that, but someone posted earlier how you can return the movies and get the gift cards for "free"...

i don't think that's how it's working

you could return the gift cards and get the movies for $15 each, which is different.

The deal works. I just left CC and spent 100.00 and get both Pirate movies along with Flags of our Fathers and Letter from Iwo Jima. Pretty good deal.

For one they're not that dumb they'll void the gift cards once you return the item. Also this is consider fraud and not allowed to be discussed here at CAG. We're about finding deals not ripping companies off.

Now if your buying them movies and keeping the gift cards thats a different story. But buying the movies only to try to return them and try to make $30 isn't allowed.

oh i get you, sorry about that

that wouldn't be possible because when you try to return the movies the computer and the reciept will show the "promo" discount.

I just got back from CC. The cashier thought it was one $15 card but the register said 2. So she gave it to me and said wow that's a good deal. Just canceled my Amazon order. Thanks OP.

Just got back from my local C.C. The deal worked great and on top of that they gave me a free T shirt. Thanks a ton OP.

I'm surprised it took 2 pages before the morality of it all got thrown in. Glitches are glitches, and discussions of them are allowed. Discussion of the morality in exploiting them is for the Vs. thread. You're not ripping a company off if they complete the transaction, and you can't go to jail for somebody incorrectly updating their POS software.

With that said.. If you buy the movies for the GC, my understanding is that since the receipt will show $14.99 for the movie and $15.00 for the GC.. you're essentially just buying a $15 GC since they are seperated out on the receipt (unless you get a dumbass employee who will try to refund the total $30 and let you keep the giftcard.. which ain't likely, so major YMMV on that one). So.. it's kind of pointless to attempt to return them if the total purchase per movie is split in half for the GC. Still.. if you have a Blu-Ray player.. a pretty damned good glitch.

Worked for me, I read the first few posts so quickly and ran out to CC I for some reason thought it's both movies for $30 total plus $30 in giftcards but then I realized it's $60 plus tax for the 2 movies and $30 in giftcards. Still a good deal if you wanted the movies to begin with though.

No go in Woodlands, TX. they didn't even have the damn giftcards so i have no clue if they would have given me 2 or not.

May try another store but i doubt it, tired of wasting gas. Tried like 10 different B&M deals over CAG the last 2 years and have been successful in ZERO lol.

I picked them up in Woodbury, MN no problem. Didn't even have to ask for the gift cards, the guy just reached over and grabbed two for me. He even asked me if I wanted to ring them seperately and use the gift card from the first movie towards the purchase of the second. I declined as I just wanted to complete the transaction and get out.

Forgot to mention I had the movies rung-up at a cashier far from the movie section. Figured it would be less likely they would know about the error.

Well i decided to try again at another store and they only gave me 1 GC. Used the front register both times, well away from the DVD section. No more B&M cag'ing for me, while it seems to be butter for others it's been nothing but shite for me :bomb:.

For any of you Houston folks don't bother with the Woodlands or Humble store, those are the two i went to.

sadly i didnt get any of the pirates gift cards, i just got two normal circuit city gift cards. They said they didn't have any of them or something.

Didn't work for me, but I did see that there was some kind of pop-up message for both DVD's.

However, I did notice that only one of the DVD's gets adjusted on the receipt, and it was the only one with a special note . I would imagine that technically you could return the one that wasn't discounted.

I also was able to get in on the deal. Grabbed the last copy of each BD pirates movie (that I could find ) and went to the Customer Service desk. Asked about the GCs. The guy didn't look like he worked there normally, and the hateful older woman manager wasn't around. He found them and grabbed one. I told him I thought it was one for each. He said he wasn't sure and I told him that the computer would let us know which it was.

A couple minutes later, I walked out with both GCs and and a smile on my face. Thanks OP!!

Now that the PS3 is going to upscale DVDs, I think I will use my GCs for the PS3 remote.
Um...I was offered no card at all....
Well, if you bought both, you should have gotten one at least. I would go back and get it, show them the ad.
