heres my cell phone story....

so i started with cingular, moved to nextel, moved to att, now im under contract with verizon.
i still have the phones from nextel and att and i dont know what to do with them.
i have a nextel motorola i90c and a att motorola MPx200 smartphone.
what can i do with these old phones? is there a place to sell them? is there a place to trade them in? is anyone here interested in them?

help please.
i dont do charity.....
LOL.....other than shelters for abused women, I'm not sure of anywhere else. You may be able to at least get a tax write off out of it.

Actually if you donate them you get to claim them on your taxes for deductions. Sometimes you get full purchase price and they give you prepaid shipping. Just a suggestion.

Can you provide insight into various cell phone companies? Which have you liked and which you have hated?

I have Sprint PCS... and the coverage sucks so I am moving to either Cingular or Verizon... I'm leaning toward Cingular due to the rollover and cost differences.

cingular = horrible customer service and coverage.
nextel = phones and plans are way to expensive
att = the best to date, but now they are cingular so thats shot.
verizon = so far im pleased, i get great service in the philadelphia area and my new phone is pretty nice.

i just called EB games and i asked them about the cell phone trade in. they said they arent doing it now, but they are starting in the near future.

so there you go, EB will soon be taking your old cell phones !!

Interesting. Since the merger Cingular should have the largest coverage area. The only negative I have read is that if you have AT&T today you would need a new phone to take advantage of the Cingular towers. If you have Cingular today then you are able to use both AT&T and Cingular towers now.

From what I have read and been told at EB, some stores are allready doing it (Testing). They are going to do it company wide very soon, but they are just ironing out what requirements they want the customer to meet (ie, with box, instructions, charger, antenna). I wouldn't get my hopes up though, as far as making $100 for a $200+ phone.

EBAY.....or keep one as a spare in your car. You cal ALWAYS dial 911 from ANY cell phone, regardless if you have a plan on it or not.

Ebay it! recycling it will get you next to nothing for money. plenty of people out on ebay are willing to pay alot more than what the phone is worth... i've sold several phones on ebay without a problem so far (*knocks on wood*)

Is that true? Because I've got a dirt-old Audiovox CDM-135XL that I'm not using and could just toss in my glove compartment.

I bet that you can do it.

EDIT:

Are all EBGAMES taking cell phones? Do they take ALL cell phones?

Ill ask again, are all ebgames taking cell phones? Im going to call now.

Yes you can dial 911 from any cellphone regardless of plan on the phone or not, used to sell them a few years ago and tons of people just kept their old phones as glovebox phones for that very purpose.
