Charging cradle doesn't work?

If I plug the gamepad in directly, the battery light will turn on. However, whenever I set it in to the cradle, I get no response. Am I doing something wrong or did I get a bad cradle?

Take a look at it and make sure it works. There's some pieces that move up when you push down.
