Chat through TV speakers isn't disabled while using a chatpad?

I use a chatpad on my controller for easy messaging and I have my settings set for chat and voices on LIVE to only play through headset and not speakers, but when I have the chatpad plugged in, chat and voices plays through both the headset AND the TV speakers, but when I take the chatpad off, chat and voices play only through the headset and not both, that's the way I want it, but I don't want to keep taking the chatpad off.

Any ideas on a way to fix this?

Turn the sound down on the TV and problem solved....Just kidding, I have no idea how to fix the problem.
