Hi, I need a decent dvd/blu-ray calibrator for my Samsung Plasma. I've tried using various websites, like tweakmytv, but I can't find any settings I really like. Anyone know of a good and cheap tv calibrator...or, if possible, if they have one, could they lend me the disc? I would be willing to pay shipping + $5, so around $7 to just borrow it.

Pick up a DVD that has the THX Optimizer on it. I found it on one of my Star Wars DVDs, then used it to help calibrate my TV.

thnx, it helped.

Question though, do the more advanced tv calibrators help choose more detailed settings such as the tv temp and black level?

Get the Avia disc. I've got one and it works well. It's not all that cheap though, but, if you're a nut about picture, it will help.

Avia has a few more tests than what I suppose a THX movie would have. It also teaches you about each test.
