Oh, gotcha, I misread that. I haven't seen one at a GS for months so I'm not sure what they have them priced at now. Stunned one's still available somewhere.

I didn't realize they had gone up that high. Might be time to sell off my extras.

That's fine...what was the last price you heard/knew? It was still priced at $80, but then again the Fallout NV was still full price too and rung up at $30. I'd call but I'd be afraid they'd snatch it up.

I stopped tracking it around a year ago but right around then, which was about a year after release I believe, I saw some for what was effectively MSRP. I had originally preordered and cancelled because it was effectively a fancy box holding a bunch of items you could buy cheaper elsewhere plus some signatures, lithos, etc.

With such a limited print I'd totally believe it reaches 700+, especially considering the erratic nature at which it goes up but it also has very little actual uniqueness, unlike the Crysis LE which i could really see sitting up there if there really never is a reprint.

CORRECTION. I am thinking of the 1st assassins creed LE. Those were 19.99, but the one I saw back in the day was dented, so I left it.

I have never actually seen the AC2 LE. It looks nice though.

Sorry to ask again but I'm really curious... I have something wrong with my foot at the moment (not sure what I did) and I'm limping around like a fool, so if I make the trip I want it to be worth it.

I saw earlier in the thread people saying that Aassassin's Creed II: Master Assassin Edition was $20 at Gamestop. Was that just a sale or what that it's new price?

My guess is that the price is going to be very YMMV, since it has been essentially universally OOS for months. I'd be shocked if they even still have the SKU for the new ones in their system company-wide.
 
So I either have to risk it and call, or risk it and go. Well it's a nice day, may as well limp on out and check it out.
 
Well it was AC Brotherhood, not sure how I thought I saw a white box unless it was just a reflection. Guess the next question would have to be is it worth picking that up, or hoping/waiting for it to drop as well? And if so I wonder if it'll skyrocket in price like ACII's.

Also out of curiosity, I found one copy of Dead Space 2 CE at my Best Buy...does anybody have any insight into whether or not that's something worth picking up (as far as resale down the line)?

Dead Space 2 CE was pretty crappy. There was a soundtrack CD, a lithograph, and a really flimsy plasma cutter replica. If you want a nice plasma cutter replica, you're better off checking epicweapons.com.

Oh it wouldn't be for me anyway, I didn't like DS1 so probably won't like the second. I was more curious for resale and making it something I don't open. Thanks for the info though
 
I went to pick up a :360: New Vegas CE for my brother (already got one on the :ps3: for myself) and saw a :ps3: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood CE for $60. I picked it up on a whim... now I'm debating whether or not to keep it.

i think its the only one left. so if anyone wants it.. to collect or to flip, its there. i only buy CE of games im hyped for.. so..

This would be a recent drop as I was just at a local GS and they had 2 of them for 360. Checked online and now there are none :(

EDIT: Called a local one and they had 1 PS3 copy left, was $59.99

They have one on the 360 by me too...didn't ask the price but online it says $60. The AC II version of this is currently going for around $200, so the real question is, will this go up in value as well.

Just did the inventory check and it says there's one left in my area, I may have to call up tomorrow and see. I wouldn't say I'm "hyped" for it, but I am interested in the game as it is, but a CE as nice as this for $30? Especially when the normal game costs more!? Yeah, count me in. From what I've read if you like Oblivion and if you could look past Deadly Premonition's faults to enjoy it, then you should love this...I fall into that category so I'm waiting for a price drop on it.

Just to verify, apparently Gamestop DOES have YMMV pricing, I thought it was all universal. I called and there's one about 30min from my house and they have one 360 version left in stock but it's still $60.

May not be able to search store inventory but you can call the store with the sku number [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]5892233 and they will check for you. Called up my Local Fry's in Manhattan Beach, CA and they had a few in stock so I went and picked up a copy myself.

This Limited edition includes a 2 Disc 42 track soundtrack and a bonus DVD with tutorials,expert strategies, and other stuff.

Probably not. The special edition for ACII (Master Assassin's Edition) was Gamestop exclusive, which is why it's so rare. The special edition for Brotherhood wasn't store exclusive.

I think I'll keep it though. $60 isn't a bad price for this CE.

Technically Gamestop got the exclusive Harlequin jack-in-the-box and DLC whereas all other stores have the Doctor one. So that makes it a little nicer deal.

Not available to be shipped or picked up in store. I will check it out at my local store though. I know they've had at least one copy sitting on the shelf forever but it's stickered at full price despite being in the clearance section.
 
I got one, thanks for posting this. Not as good a price as the PS3 version I found at BestBuy ($15.99) but they are becoming harder to find so I am pleased.

Because most gamers in america are fucking idoits and will snatch them up thinking "huh huh Ill put my kids through college with this one day if I dont open it instead of playing it to enjoy".

America gets shitty CE/LE's because we buy them. People see a steelbook or some cheap artbook and want it so they buy it. Why would game companies on the whole sell us shit unless we keep buying it?

What gets me is how many people buy them with the intent on making money later. As if games somehow will make you a millionare in 20 years or something. I see the same thing in the comic shop I work in, a issue 1 of something comes out and people snatch it up thinking if they never read it or touch the interior they will get rich off it. And occasionally when something new does jump up in price, its right back down soon and even thats a semi rare event.

That's why it's best to sell something five minutes after you buy it.
 
Does anyone have a link to a place to see a list of all the Art Books that are available whether included with CE's or as stand alone products? Just got Bioshock 2 CE today and the art book is :drool:. so i would love to search out more but would like to start with a list to search off of.

30 years from now, a mint and sealed Bioshock LE will be worth A LOT. Something like Halo Reach CE though will not be because it was mass produced. Some things are worth saving, most aren't. Things like COD ce's are only worth money now because of codes that will be useless a year from now when no one cares about the dlc or they expire.
 
I walked into a GS I haven't been to in a while and saw a brand new CODMW2 Prestige for XBOX NIB. I asked the associate to scan it and he refused saying he did inventory that morning and it was $80 (orig MSRP $150), so I left it. Called a different GS to see if they can look up price, and the other store told me its out of the system and he wasn't able to look it up. He then went on to say since its discountinued, it should sell at the same price as just a new copy of the CODMW2 (currently on sale at $40). Called original GS today and got a different associate and he said, he was able to look up price and its $150.

Anybody know what the price on this is currently? Thanks in advance

Go to the store act like you want it. After they scan it look at the price if it is not what you expected, make an excuse and leave.
 
The MW2 Prestige was converted to used. Go in there and ask to talk to the store manager, and tell him about the employees lying to you. Then buy it and fill out the survey with all 1s and comments about the employees lying to you.

That should solve the problem for that store.

Paid for my college and tuition and most of my trips around the world doing this with old video games and CEs that I bought to resell later :)

The first guy refused to take it down, but I do plan on making a return trip, though it probably will not be monday. I will definantely just say I want to buy it, so they get it down. Then I'll decide whether or not to buy it depending on the price. Thanks.

Converted to used would mean that it would only be $28 which would be excellent though I was willing to pay $40 which is the current sale price on the new game. Thanks!!

The survey thing is a great idea too and I plan on filling that out. Will report back as soon as I go and hopefully its still there after the weekend.
