Fernando Rocker

CAGiversary!
I saw a thread talking about the new upcoming CE games, and obviously the prices are MRSP.

So, I created this thread to easily identify old and cheap CE games.
Yeah man, it was folded into a square in the box. Mine was new and sealed and I remember someone else from that old thread saying theirs was the same way. So I am sure they all are like that.
Alright.. I was hoping that wasn't the case but I guess it was. Nice to see another quality Capcom special edition.
is that game any good? ive seen that around 10 bucks several times now but never got it because id never heard of it. what the hell is it?
Haven't tried it yet, some sort of third person survival-horror, action/adventure game. The limited edition comes in a steelbook (rare for a Wii game, Metriod Trilogy is only other one I know of), "Exclusive behind the scenes video footage on DVD", and game soundtrack on CD.

It got ok reviews, 67 on metacritic: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/cursedmountain/review.html or http://wii.ign.com/articles/101/1019344p1.html
Its $40 online. Not sure how he got it for $30. Is this worth $30 and is this a good game?
Personally, love SRPG and must collect all, but typical reviews shows this game to be decent at least. $30 for LE is a must but for me, but even $40 is tempting.

Edit: $40 it is then, still must grab before it's gone...
Tron Evolution CE is $51 at Amazon right now for 360...
Now 46 and change so I hope it goes to around 30 which is my price point for a really mediocre CE.

I want to try that Tron game because I loved the movie, but I hear so consistently that it's crap. My whorishness for CE's can't overtake my common sense. That one must be
Hey, quick question... how was that giant brochure included? I got a used copy off of a trade and it was just folded twice (into a nice little rectangle) and placed inside the box. Is that how it's really supposed to be?
Tell me about it. Whats worse is that it isnt even creased properly. If they knew they had to fold the them, you would think they would have creased it into a perfect square or something and not the half ass way they "semi" folded it. Very strange.

EDIT: I meant to respond to your last post, not this one, but you get the gist.

i can confirm that the dead rising 2 zombrex edition for ps3 has been converted to used. xbox is still 49.99. i got the bundle but i might return just the game. i just want the goodies especially the pen. it was opened but everything was there including the dlc and used sleeve from gamestop.

I managed to find the MGS: Peace Walker Limited Edition and Fallout: New Vegas CE for $30 each at Gamestop.

Am I too late to find a God of War 3 Ultimate Edition anywhere?

Has anyone seen Fable III CE/LE, AC: Brotherhood LE/CE, or Little Big Planet 2 CE/LE for relatively cheap?

maybe thats the problem? Mine was 360 not ps3. I was waiting a week or two to see if it would drop if not i think i'll just take it back. its not worth 50 bucks i dont think

I've asked at 5-6 Gamestops about the GOW and it's nowhere to be found (at least around here).

All the GOW3's pretty much got cleared out around my area soon after I saw this thread about 25 pages ago. Lucky enough I was able to get one about 20 mins away near a friends house. It still had a 79.99 (!) sticker on it, and the cashier had to open it in order to sell it to me. Didn't bug me as I enjoy fully all my purchases, and didn't need it unopened.

Yeah, I managed to snag the last copy of GOW3 ultimate at my local GS in mid-march. Was $18 after being converted but unopened. But I recently saw one behind the counter opened so its still pretty much YMMV.
Anyone see a drop in the Mafia II CE for PC yet?

Had a interesting find last night. A gamestop I frequent had a new special edition for SMT - Devil Summoner 2 for the PS2 for 19.99. Looks like it's been at that price for a while, but they just had this restocked xD.

The stuffed animal it comes with looks like a hard-gay jack frost.

I totally forgot about hard-gay. Thank you for reminding me.

My pleasure.

And for those that wanna see the set (or just the hard-gay Jack Frost), here's a quick pic I jacked from some blog
I think the price of $20 for Devil Summoner 2 at Gamestops is correct. It's been discounted for quite a while now.
Yeah, it's been $20 for more than a year now.
Tron is down to $42.45 at Amazon right now on both platforms FYI
Keep watching that one because it has been dropping about 1.25 per day for the last week and a half.
I dunno, its still just the Tron game with a toy lightcycle. This has got to be the most weakass Collector's Edition in quite some time.
LOL. Wonder if Tron the game is weak.

Tron will probably go the route of Epic Mickey and drop to below $30 before moving back up. I think they have a lot of stock sitting around due to the hype for the movie. I will wait and see if it drops and maybe pick it up for the PS3, so I can check out how it works with Move. Anyone ever play this game, is it even worth $30?

I've heard it's terrible, and the review at gametrailers.com doesn't do anything to argue with that. Though for $30 i would be happy with the game and bike.

And don't forget it has a ticket to see the new Tron movie that came the theatre's last year. :)

It looks like one of those games that I would enjoy even tho critics trash it, like Dynasty Warriors. Non-professional reviews have said it's a pretty decent game.

I probably will still wait tho to see if it goes cheaper. Have plenty in my backlog to tide me over anyway. :)

My friend finished the game, and somewhat enjoyed it. Watched him play a few levels and it looked fine. So for $30 or less, I wouldn't pass it up.

Yeah, I somehow came full circle back to where I can stomach more mediocre games if they are dealing with IPs that I really love. That's how I was at 6 buying Rambo for the NES and apparently 30 buying Tron and Harry Potter.

Well I found something interesting today at a local gamestop. There's this game called "Enchanted Arms" for the 360. It came out in 2006, and it has two editions. The standard and the limited edition which comes with a slip cover and small graphic novel. It was listed as "New" for 39.99, but it was pretty damn banged up. I asked them if they could convert it to Used for me, and to ring it up then, but apparently it's used price is 4.99 xD, and they wouldn't do it.

Sometimes (actually, most of the time) GS really sucks balls. I had called several GS's to find a hard-to-find game and was told one place had it. I asked it was new and unopened and was told it was new but had been opened and still included original box and manual.

Well, I drove over an hour round trip only to find they only had the disk...no case, no manual...nothing but the disk, but they were still insisting on selling it at the new price ($29.99) even though the used price was $4.99.

While their gutted box crap is already nearly intolerable, this was just over top insanity. "Yes, we are a retail store that is selling you a game that doesn't include the manual, box or cover art, but since it is showing up in our computer as "new" we are going to charge you the new product price even though it comes with less than what most used games come with.".

So regarding your experience, nothing even remotely surprising about that in the least.

I pick the LE new a few months ago at kmart for $19.97. BTW the LE was the standard edition for this game when it was first released. Only the first batch has the graphic novel.

If you really want it new, and in good to great shape. I suggest calling kmart or sears. Odds are on of them will have it, and it will only cost you $19.97

Ya i actually have the LE version. He's right the first print was the 'limited edition' it comes in a neat little artbox, similar to the type you would get with an anime box set, but way smaller, and the game and little manga booklet that slide into the box. It was actally an ok game. Story and characters were pretty cool from what i recall, but gameplay was a bit dull

I actually don't have any kmarts in my area. I've got everything BUT kmarts, which makes the epic kmart thread here useless to me x.x Sears though, I haven't seen it there and I've been to two very recently.

Either way, I wasn't ranting about Gamestop. I just found it funny that the game was up for 39.99 when it was released in 2006/its used price is so drastically low. So lets all put down the pitchforks please ^^; torches are fine.

I did find something cool though. I found a metallic cover Death Jr. for the PSP. The limited edition came with an artbook, two UMD covers and a CD track; but for 6.99, I can't really complain with getting the game, packaging and manual.

you know the more i thought about that the more i got pissed. You must have been livid driving so far. What you SHOULD have done is smiled, said sure i'll buy it, then as soon as they sold it to you you should have grabbed the reciept and told the ass hole you were going to fill out the survey on it, and give him all 1's, then just return the game at your local store the next day

that would have totally screwed him over, those things are a big deal

Not sure if this was mentioned in this thread, but Best Buy currently has Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Collector's Edition for $55. Amazon.com has also price matched it at the same price.

It's a pass for me currently. I saw stacks of these at Best Buy, so I don't think I have to be in any hurry.

I'm pretty tempted to pick up the Brotherhood CE, but the stores aren't moving the stock of them, even at $55. Maybe when it hits $35.

I'm excited for the Killzone Heighast Edition to go on sale - I can't believe how many are rotting on the shelves at Best Buy.

Those surveys are a HUGE deal. I left bad feedback once and was contacted by a district manager that night and they gave me a $20 gift card! They don't screw around with those surveys.

Oh really? I really should leave a bad survey for the asshole that lied to my face about a game being in transit to another store when it was sitting right in the case when I looked. (a GBA game)

When I got my $20 GC it was because I went in to trade some games while they were doing one of the tiered trade ins. The fine print on this one said each game had to be worth at least $3 or something like that, so I told the guy that if any game isn't worth that much let me know because I'll just keep it.

Well the first lie was that he told me the $3 is AFTER your PuR % is applied so if any of my games are close that should put them over. Then he told me I was still getting the extra $10 or whatever the tiered offer was, that was the second lie. Then he lied about how much credit I was actually getting.

The store was REALLY busy and there was a long line behind me (plus Wife was at home alone with the boys and dinner was approaching), so I left without even thinking to check the receipt. Needless to say I was pretty pissed when I got home.

Yeah. Well, I checked the online stock tool which showed the game was in stock at that store.

I went in, asked about it, and he looked it up and claimed it showed as in transit to another store. (I later went to a different store and asked if that was possible for them to see in the inventory system, and the guy said it wasn't)

So I thought something was fishy so I went and looked in the GBA case. What a surprise... there it was for $5. (River City Ransom GBA)

I said "thanks for lying to me about it, it's right here" and he didn't even deny lying to me.

Yeah, coulda woulda shoulda. On the drive home I was really pissed and still am, but when it happened I was actually more dumbfounded because I just couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth since he said them as if it was really a pretty straightforward thing. As much as I come to expect stupid crap when going to GS I just wasn't mentally prepared for that level of stupidity and obtuseness. I really wouldn't have been more surprised if the guy had pulled out an icepick and slowly inserted it all the way into his ear with a shit-eating grin on his fact the whole time. Like something out of a Stephen King story, I just wanted to get out of there before it got even more f-ed up.

But I've been to other GS's with other very helpful people (at least as helpful as they can be while working at GS), so I sometimes still stop by one every once in a while. But not that store...never again.

Pretty much. I have gotten 2 of the douche's at mine fired. granted one of them was a wanted Pedo but the other one basically told me I had to preorder a game or he wouldn't sell me my game.

U should leave a bad survey for all the wasted time and gas.

This was odd at Gamestop, but Found a Perfect Dark Zero CE for $2.99 and Halo 3 LE for $9.99.

I didn't get Halo 3 LE, but did get Perfect Dark since I had Trade In Credit and saved on cost of shipping.
