An interesting note brought up in the thread is that you can also order titles if in store if you can't find them there. The sale price doesn't show until the cashier rings up the deal.

I'm going to have to make the trek to FYE to see if they have Arc the Lad. I love the games and would like to try the anime.

Dragon Half is a great deal for $6.99. Only two episodes, but very funny.
 
I went back and traded in some games to get a bunch of credit. I picked up

Excel Saga Imperfect Collection 29.99
Final Fantasy Unlimited DVD 1 w/ box then volumes 2-7 separate came out to about $65

and the best thing

COMIC PARTY COMPLETE DVD BOX SET ONLY 34.99!!!!!

Was able to grab the Comic Party 4 dvd box set at $34.99. I was going to wait till RightStuf had a sale on the set but this is even better. Good thing it wasn't physically tagged on sale otherwise I'm sure someone else woulda picked it up.

Also, I wasn't able to order any dvds for the sale price. Anyone know a way around that?

I just got back from FYE the one in george town right, (from brooklyn too). Ok so first I see home movies is on sale so I get that, then I see the jerry seinfeld hbo special dvd so I get that. As Im paying I tell him I want to order stuff I give him list which was soul hunter, steel angel kurumi and excel saga imperfect collection on it. He goes to check the back since the computer says it has steel angel kurumi and soul hunter in the store. As hes in the back I look around since punisher is on sale for 9.99, I get that last copy and buy that as well. He comes back with soul hunter complete in his hand and says he couldnt find the other one, but since they are on sale they will most likely get a shipment in. I purchase soul hunter, thank him, and leave.

This is what happens when three events occur at the same critical juncture:

1. Woobacca gets introduced to CAG, becomes addicted and rediscovers his love for gaming and anime
2. Mrs. Woobacca and little baby Woobacca go overseas to visit grandma and grandpa for two months, leaving him sad and lonely

Thanks Sway. You might want to clarify that the City Hunters are actually City Hunter Season 1 Collection 1 and City Hunter Season 2 Collection 1. I don't think either Season's Collection 2s were on sale. Also, my bad they're actually going for 29.99, not 24.99 like I had originally posted on Friday.

Dragon Half for $7 is a steal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


One of the funniest animes ever IMO. I can't find it in my old vhs pirate collection so it's time for an upgrade.

Closest FYE to me was emptied out. All I found was the last two Rahxephon dvds I didn't have. Are these deals good online????

Damn, those were some long ass seasons of city hunter....

I'm going to see if i can order the other ones, or else i may end up returning them.

Ok I was recently looking at the FYE trade in used games deals and was wondering if we could make up a list of the cheapest games to purchase that can be traded in for the most profit at FYE, thereby making these anime purchases cheaper than they already are.

I just saw Season 2 Collection 2 there, but it scanned for the full 89.99.
 
I thought someone posted a thread a few weeks back indicating that FYE was going out of business and no longer accepting trade-ins. The OP warned everyone to use their credit ASAP before FYE went under. I can't find the thread though. Am I mixing this up with some other store?
 
It was FYE but the OP warned that 2/3 of the stores were supposed to be going under. I checked with all the ones I go to and only of them closed down.

Disappointing trip to FYE (but as expected :( ). I was going to check some other ADV titles that aren't on the front page, but they didn't have what I was looking for. But I did play a round of DDR in their arcade, so the trip wasn't a total loss. :wink:

I saw Samurai X Trust and Betrayal (Director's Cut), which scanned in at $9.99.

In case anyone shops there, they did have Cutey Honey, Knights of the Zodiac, Rahxephon the Movie, Super Milk Chan, assorted Saiyuki, and plenty of Dragonball Z.
