An interesting note brought up in the thread is that you can also order titles if in store if you can't find them there. The sale price doesn't show until the cashier rings up the deal.

Went to FYE soon after they opened today in hopes that they'd have more titles available, but that turned out a bust. Some interesting notes: Street Fighter Alpha the Movie and Cutey Honey EA came up at $19.99 each instead of the sale price so it's possible that some titles and prices are YMMV. I also noticed Super Gals Vol 1 with box went for $10.99. Also made a small order for myself just to confirm I could get the sale price and it went through. I was kinda of nervous cause I the cashier told me the regular price but then was surprised at the sale price when she rung it up.
 
Once I dig my car out of the snow Ill hit FYE again.....so ill be there by what thursday yea maybe wednsday.......Ffuck THE SNOW Ffuck THE SNOW....I feel better now.
 
Slightly OT, but i found a near mint Iria Boxset Tin @ my local blockbuster for $15 yesterday. I think the cheapest i saw it for was $20 a few months ago on rightstuf.

I took the trip to Bowling Green today (I seem to be doing a lot of CAG related travelling), and it paid off. Yes, Street Figther Alpha is $19.99 :( , and I noticed that Cutey Honey AE was $19.99 the other day at the Nashville store , but I had assumed the sale price was for the individual volumes, maybe not)

I traded a bunch of games, cds, and dvds, picked up 28 anime titles, including 2 box sets, and 1 vol 1 w/box. I also special ordered several titles. The clerk was pretty cool about it, and the anime selection was really good ('was' being the operative word :) ). I even ended up with cash, which was nice since I had earlier paid $25 cash for a practically new Street Fighter Anniversary Arcade Stick*.

After I was done taking all the stuff back to the car, I went back in for another look. As I was looking, one of the workers was going around telling everyone the store was closing. I looked at my watch and saw it was 5:52. I checked my phone, same thing. So I asked "closing - get the hell out, or closing - make your final selections?" He said we had one minute. I then went through the mall, found the Gamestop, asked if I could have a quick look around (5:57 at that point), and they told me to go ahead, they even started talking to me to try to help, and it was obvious that it was not just to try to get me out of there more quickly. I didn't end up finding anything at GS, but it was a nice experience just the same. I heard other people commenting on FYE closing early, also.


* - Some guy tried returning it to EB, but they couldn't take it since the seal was broken on the box. He then tried to sell it to them, but they couldn't even buy it from him. After following him outside, I asked how much he was looking for. He said he had paid $59, and he'd take $50. I told him I was thinking more like half that, $25. He asked if I could go to $30, I said no thanks and suggested he try Gamestop (I knew they wouldn't give him much, but it was a conversation ender). I went back in, and a minute later he was in there accepting my offer (I made every attempt to avoid dealing inside the store, but I couldn't stop him from coming in after me). I ended up having to buy a pack of gum also, so that I could get the cash back from Kroger. Later, while looking around the same EB, A mom was buying her son Mortal Kombat Deception. The clerk convinced her to get the used version for $5 less, and when he went to get the case off the shelf, I slipped them a 30% off coupon, which made it easy to upsell them on the Edge card (when he told them about it, I spoke up and said it was a really good deal). Everybody wins. Also, I'm pretty sure the clerk knew I had slipped them the coupon.

Yes, it's hard to believe, but the Angelic Layer v1 w/ box is cheaper than the v1 DVD w/o the box. Makes absolutely no sense, but I am now happily going to return the v1 that I had bought for $10.99 last week.

Now that I have the boxes, I'm also going to return the Full Metal Panic v1 and RahXephon Movie standalones that I had bought last time. I guess that means I'm paying net $5 a piece for the boxes themselves + the small extras included with them.

Damn, the FYE you go to must have an extra nice selection. BTW, what size is the shirt with FMP? I've always wanted to get the Vol 1 + Box of that and Noir because they came with the shirts.

XL :D. It seems sturdy enough. Hopefully the image on the front won't wear out after a few washes.

I saw the Noir v1 box there, too, but it wasn't on sale for some reason.
 
Just finished watching soul hunter, not one of the best animes ive seen but it was worth the money I spent, cant wait to watch burn up excess.

Okay I no longer need any anime, thank you all for your help, alsp Specs IS doing this sale as well B&M and via order, I confirmed this morn after a lengthy visit with a specs manager who ordered the rest of what I needed for me.
 
Got my RahXephon Vols 1-5 and Nadia Collection 2 today. Still waiting on Nadia Collection 1. And if my Rightstuf Gasaraki boxset comes today and my Saber Marionette J - Ultimate Collection DVD Set Limited Edition gets here Tommarow i'm going to have such a huge backlog of Anime to watch i'll never get threw my huge backlog of Video games all thanks to this site heh. Don't think I'll ever be able to pay full price for anything ever again.
 
Okay another update, for some reason Gunsmith cats Bulletproof is now coming in @ 29.99, I checked a few times at Specs. Everything else is the same though.
 
The list on the first page says "Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and Reflection: $9.99 ea." Is that the same price for the Director's Cut too, or just the regular version?

And has anyone confirmed Street Fighter Alpha for $5.99?

It may depend on which one. There are multiple versions of Gunsmith Cats. There's the original DVD release, the Essential Edition Release, and I think they just did a new pressing of the Essential Edition. I don't know if it has the same UPC so it may not scan at the same price.

Went back to buffalo and picked up devil lady and arc the lad this time. I brought up those two along with cutey honey, but the sale tags had been removed from devil lady and cutey honey. I said they were on sale last week, but wasn't sure if they still were. The woman insisted devil lady and cutey honey were never on sale, and then when she was proven wrong with devil lady she insisted that cutey honey was never on sale. I didn't argue with her, I just said that I remembered it being on sale last week and she seemed like she was going to bite my head off.

Anyone want to trade cutey honey for comic party vol 1 or slayers great? Those are the only ones I accidentally bought that I already had.
 
I just got steel angel kurumi collection, 20 bucks. The guy behind the counter knew me from all the times I stopped in and he held it for me knowing that I would be comming back, nice of him right. He also gave me a job application asking if I wanted to work there, so I might until I go back to brooklyn. I also ordered Excel Saga Collection and Sorcerer Hunters Collection.

You should be able to special order it. As long as you have an FYE, Wherehouse, Strawberries, Coconuts, or even (though I'm not sure) a Saturday Matinee.

What are the best deals out of this list? Whats the best find? What's some of the stuff i should look for? I was in my FYE today and they had a bunch of these with cheap stickers on them. I'm gonna go back but what should i get out of this list? Whats the most hardcore? killing? coolness?

Well, some of the best falls into the comedy categoy. Steel Angel Kurumi and Excel Saga.

Kino's Journey is supposed to be good.

Some of the Essential Editions for $7 are classic.
 
Okay i got my order today yay! Comic Party 4 was out of stock and cant be ordered anymore (kick's self in butt for having it taken back), I got freeman and comic party 3, I also ordered another excel saga set and also found out the gunsmith cats bulletproof for 6.99 is listed under " Gunsmith Cats Collection" instead of bulletproof. I hope this helps!

Kino's journey is very good. Well worth the money. One of the writers of Cowboy Bebop did the whole script. Very thoughtful and interesting.

Just an opinion, but I'd caution against Excel Saga if you're completely new to anime. I'm up to episode 3 and sorta enjoying it so far, but sometimes it gets so crazy that I think only an otaku who's seen loads of anime could truly appreciate it. Especially since it appears to be a parody on anime. Maybe I'm not enough of an otaku to fully appreciate it yet...

I just ordered my Dvds and the came up sale price, plus the guy behind the counter said the sale was on till march 16th (the dudes my buddy now, I make friends wherever I go).
 
I can see now why admiral and WSB recommended steel angel kurumi, its a great anime, funny, great animation and just overal one of the better animes ive seen.

No, you're right. The entire show is a parody of every other anime in existence. Thers even a feature for pop up notes on all the in jokes and parodies, as explanations.

Wow I cant wait till they call me up and say your stuff has arrived, or maybe Ill be able to take it out of the box myself, I accepted the job btw, I start monday.
