Don't you guys hate it when you actually find something good but don't have enough money for it?

.. Yeah, that's all I've wanted to say.

It's worse when time proves how awful that lack of money is- for example: fy BF's brother forced to pass a $20 copy of Rhapsody a few years back (his parent's wouldn't give him a loan), and the time I found a complete Suikoden 2 in an EB when I had no job. (that's one's not so bad, I found a disc-only copy later.)

What also happens with me is that I spot something cool or a good deal at a point where I feel like I've spent too much lately and when I come to my senses (or lose my senses) and go back its gone.

For instance, I saw a nifty (complete) Genesis 3 for $10 at a Goodwill a few months ago but I convinced myself I didn't need it and by the time I got home I regreted it . . . never to see it again.

I got that going on right now, but you can all help by buying my stuff! :D It's very cheap, I promise.

I saw Gitraoo Man for $9.99 at Best Buy, I was in there just to look at something else and didn't get it since I only had $20 with me and didn't want to spend over half the cash I had at the time (didn't have a credit card at the time either) so I passed on it (not knowing it would become so rare)

I know what you mean, except I usually have money when this shit happens.

"Hey, this game looks pretty cool."
"Are you SURE you want to spend $20 on that?"
"Well..."
"The graphics look shoddy."
"Yeah, it was only like a 3/5 in EGM."
"Okay...maybe I'll find a better one for that price..."

A few years later, and Rez is going for a whole lot more than $20. And now that I know the value of these games, I can't even find one.

I woulda done it even if the game never became rare. I wanted to get it but never saw it for less than $35 (from what I remember).

Yeah, that's the wosrt part... when you pass up something thinking "I'll get another shot later!" but when later comes and you get your shot, you see that it's 10x the price it was before.:whistle2:x

Similar situation. I can't take advantage of that great Nintendogs trade-in deal because I don't have the money for a DS :whistle2:(. Worst part is i'll probably find a good deal for a DS one week after the Nintendogs deal is dead.

You know, they won't turn you down just because you don't have a DS yet. You can still get the game now, even if you can't play it yet.

Why not take advantage of the Nintendogs deal now and save it for later? I mean, when are you ever in the near future going to get that game for that cheap(Assuming you get three cheap games for like 10-15 bucks)?

I usually have the money, and don't get it now, then regret it later when it's too late.

I wish I had got Rez when I saw it being demoed at a local game store. And the time i saw a copy of Phantasy Star Online(Long before the Plus version was out.) for the Cube, and Ikaruga in Circuit City. If I only knew they would become so valuable...

Because I don't see myself getting a DS anytime soon due to being an unemployed college student.

That's what ebays for my friend. I took a year off before college and had no job january-september (when college started) and then couldn't work during college cause I was in canada and couldn't get a work visa. I had no allowance and no job, yet I went on vacation with a friend (spent about 700) in july, and went to college with 3,000 u.s. in the bank by september. All of that was courtesy of ebay, and I didn't sell a single thing that I had owned, everything I sold was bought with the intention of selling it. I went the whole college year without ever being a "broke college student". I never encountered a situation like that. I also made money off ebay throughout the year (though, luckily, my mother agreed to package and ship any items that I brought home or had already been home, since selling from canada seriously hurts sales).

Also, that whole ebay selling thing has greatly expanded my collection, since I encounter many rare items or things I otherwise wouldn't have, or I'd buy a video game lot, remove the items I want, and sell the rest individually and still make a profit.

Heh, i've been selling pretty much everything I own on here and eBay so I can get a modded PS2 and a GBA Flash Cart, a DS was never worked into the budget though. I know a guy who might hire me to do some work while i'm on my various 1 week vacations that I get thoough. With that I might save up and get a DS on the next price drop.

Such is the life of a broke-ass cheap-ass.

I know what you mean...I missed out on getting SC:CT (xbox) for under $25 (pm to BB at CC) this last week. I just couldn't afford it. Kids getting ready for school, bills, bills, bills, wife who doesn't know how to stop spending money...etc...you know the same-ol' same-ol'

Actually my problem these days is that I don't have enough time to play all the cheapass games I've picked up thanks to this site. Many of them are still in their shrinkwrap. I have so many RPGs I'll probably never get to... and RPGs aren't even my favorite genre since graduating high school.

I would gladly take those RPGs off your hands.

Don't worry... I think you will be able to buy all of the Nintendogs you would ever want for 4.99 each in about 6 months.
