Cheap Controller S?

Anyone know where I can get a cheap Controller S at? I need two more controllers, trying to get ready for Halo 2!

Define cheap.. you can usually find them PO at EB or Gamestop for ~$20.. new, you'd be very hard pressed to get it for even $25.

Yeah I knew Gamestop had em for $20, but I was wondering if any places had some kind of deal if you buy two or something. Anyone heard of anything cheaper than $20?

GS sells S Controllers for $25 used, and the Duke for $20 used. You're best bet will be places that are ignorant of their value, i.e. pawn shops, friends, the like.

i know walmart has the newer 3rd party controllers (not sure of the brand.. know its pretty well known though? MAYBE logitech?) wireless controllers for $25.. i held one last night and it felt basically exactly like the controller S except it had one more little grip on the handles (which i liked!) if you are interested its the see-thru kind.. thats all i know!

Whoops. I should have said B&M. At least they were the last time I was at work. I'll double-check tomorrow.

I know at Gamestop (B&M only? dunno) sells a" gamestop" S controller. It's made by Pellican, has an extra long wire, and has 2 pairs of black and white buttons. One pair is where its supposed to be, and the other in on top, like L1/R1 for PS2. It's only $15. It's apparently "the least returned controller to Gamestop" said some Gamestop Manager. I have one, they're really nice. They have little grips too.

There was a Walmart near me (Chicago, IL) that had green S controllers on clearance for $10. I picked up a couple.
I also recently saw some PS2 controller to Xbox and GC system converters for $4 each(different Walmart). I already have two of those that I use for 4 player Halo. The PS2 controllers work well, once you get used to button placement.

I also have an original Xbox Controller that I would be willing to unload if your interested. Maybe $10 plus shipping. PM me to let me know.

Tech Tip # 132: Have it up and running *before* you say "just five more minutes."

Well the Controllers are gone now, that was a couple of months back.
The PS2 to Xbox\Gamecube converters are at a Walmart in Bloomingdale, IL on Army Trail Rd, west of I-355 , Schmale Rd,. is the cross street. A Super Target is just before it. Last time I checked there were still 3 or 4 of them left.

Man, I gotta get over there ASAP! My old controller just went kaput on me and the Tower Records in Schaumburg I'm sure has already been cleaned out :whistle2:(
I highly recommend looking into trying to find a Japanese Controller S. The additional cost it may take to acquire one is worth it
I bought one during the limited American distribution that MS had about a year ago, and it got fucking stolen. I was so angry.

I found an unopened one for $7 at Wherehouse alittle while back. That's the cheapest I've seen them for.

thats when I bought mine. The cord may be shorter, but the buttons are of much better quality.

The cord is only about a foot shorter, and the green emblem is just way cooler than the black one. Not that it matters for me anymore. fucking thieves.

I bought one at EB when they were actually cheaper than the regular Controller S. The buttons are better except for the triggers, which don't have enough resistance.

They were $5 cheaper. I bought mine during GS's employee appreciation week for %30 off.

I used to say I liked the Japanese Xbox controller over at the Xbox. com message boards and people would always bring up the point that the cord is much shorter. Thats why I mentioned it.

also any cheap ass buying a controller when those were out should have one. It retailed for 5 bucks cheaper than a regular S controller
