anybody know where I can buy them cheap? I heard asia sells the exact same thing for like $20 while Americans sell it for almost $40.

I get them from the US Military Exchange on the cheap, but you or someone you need to know needs to be in the service
 
When i used to buy them (2 years ago) Footlocker had unadvertised sales at random intervals when they were BOGO half off. I dont know if they still do that though because since then the Hip-hop crowd has gotten a hold of them so they are probably more profitable.

It's the outlet/clearance section of eastbay - just do a search by "converse" and it should bring up a few selections. Usually not the classic colors, but once in a while they have some decent ones.
