I believe it comes out Wednesday. Give me the cheapass solution for the bundle back [with dance pad]. Perhaps Best Buy Game card in combo with some mysterious coupon that's floating around? Cheers.

That $10 of a $39.99 or more game is on here somewhere, and it just so happens the coupon expires on Wednesday. (Good timing!)

They probably won't allow the use of a GGC in conjunction with the coupon, unless you get one clueless cashier.

EDIT: I pray that with this release we also get BC for the older four Ultramix titles! PLEASE!

Seriously, the best you can do is hope Gamestop still has a soundtrack for you. It's a new pad for 360 and a new game, it's really a steal..

New 360 games are $59.99, typically

for some reason only the bundle has a release date of this week or w.e

the standalone version has a late march release date..
wtf

I bet I can explain this. They charge more for the bundle AND make more on the bundle. Release it first to have people buy it.

Umm, why do you think people are trying to rip you off on the bundle?

You can't use any other pad with the 360, the xbox pads don't work, usb pads for PC don't work....you NEED the pad...the stand alone is only for people who buy third party pads [why would you buy a third party pad]
Does anyone know if you can play against friends over XBL with this game
It would be crazy if you couldn't.

Just making sure. It was a stupid question but I couldn't find anywhere concrete stating that. Just that there were online tournaments. My friend and I totally getting this now. Wonder how long till we will see extra dancemats...

sucks that i have to wait for the non bundled version..

i actually like ddr games but dont like the dance pads at all

controller ftw

Doesn't that defeat the purpose though? Press Press Revolution?

It really sucks that you're forced to use that crappy softpad. I've got a Cobalt Flux w/ arcade mod that I'd use but no official controller adapter has been released yet for the 360. XMC makes the XFPS 360 which allows you to use PS2 + USB controllers on the 360, but it's $80 *and* requires a wired controller to use as a pass-thru on the device.

Carpeted basement makes it even harder for me to use a softpad on too. It's a shame because I'm a huge DDR fan and really want to play Universe. MS needs to make a dance pad adapter ASAP. I know a lot of people are passing on this because of the softpad issue.
So, no deals then?
The $10 off BB coupon looked to be the best deal, and it's expired now.

Haven't seen it cheaper than MSRP anywhere. I'd say a GGC is your best deal.

I think I'll just pass on this one for now and save my money and time for Guitar Hero for the 360. I barely even play my PS2 version and I've never touched my copy of Mario Mix, so I'm probably better off this way.

Holy crap 1up.com gave it a 3 out of 10!

I really wanted this too...
I havent played much of this series (only once or twice at the arcade). Is it worth this much money?

IGN gave it 8.9 said it was an amazing DDR game.

Gamerankings seems to have an average rating of between high sevens to mid eights. Except for 1UP of course they gave it 3.

No DDR game is worth its money from the pad it comes bundled with. Sure, it's good for new players and for those who mod it but you need a better pad to really enjoy the game.

1UP seems to be a bit off in left field on this one. 72% average rating on gamerankings and 1UP gives it a 3. go figure.

Well, this is the first one I have bought... my room mate has the PS2 version and a nice thick foam pad but it kicked my ass a couple times and he never plays it anymore. I'm looking forward to learning how I should be playing it instead of using the controller.

Just wanted to mention that I got the XFPS from 4 Triangles:

Expensive, yes, but it works perfectly for playing DDR Universe with a PS2 Red Octane Ignition Pad. I couldn't detect any lag whatsoever.

I haven't tried it out on XBOX Live yet, but I assume it will show up as a controller, not as a dance pad. I don't really care too much about that, I am just happy to be able to use my Ignition pads to play.
