Cheapest place to buy a Tux (Bay Area)????

Hi folks!

Well, I am being escorted to a black tie fundraiser and need a tux for the first time in my life. I know I *could* rent one, but I figure if I could get one for under $200 it would be worth it just to buy one and be done with it in the future.

I live in San Jose, CA--anybody know of stores that have good prices on tuxes???

Have you thought of using Men's Wearhouse?

That's where I'm getting my tux (albeit renting it) for my wedding next year. I like the quality and the price is very reasonable IMO.

I own a tux and I got mine at JC Pennys (it was a closeout sale). I dont think they sell them anymore.

There is a cheap place called the Clothing Broker where they sell suits at a discounted price. I dont know if they sell tuxedos though. Its a shot to give them a call.

And your right, it may be better to buy one than to rent one. I rented a tux from a mall in Hayward for a wedding and it cost me $150 (unfortunately, I was 1 of 5 groomsman and all our tuxes had to match). The place I went to is called "Afterhours" and I have to say that this place sucks! If you must rent a tux, do not go to "Afterhours"- Those guys are a mess. Worst service ever.
 
Thanks guys. The prices on JC Penney online were pretty darn cheap--and I called my local store and they do seem to have them.......
 
Check out the secondhand shops on the Haight in San Francisco. That's where I got mine way back in the day.
