Got a Halo Limited Edition...set it up last night...pretty sweet.
Only have Halo so far, but I am looking forward to playing KOTOR, Ninja Gaiden (will wait for the 1.1 update), Rainbow Six 3 (probably wait for Black Arrow), and Splinter Cell: PT, as well as some future releases.

Congrats Cheapy! KOTOR is a definate must, but if you see a deal on it, don't pass up Riddick!

No, I play all types of games.
I will get Live soon, but so far I have not been overwhelmed with games that I must buy.

Cheapy, you shouldn't be disappointed with KOTOR. I wasn't overly impressed with Ninja Gaiden.

Have you pre-ordered H2? If you pre-order through EB they should give you the option of getting the special edition at no extra cost. I ordered mine about two months ago, and they gave me a call stating the afore mentioned.

Let me know what you think of KOTOR.

If you want a good cheap running around and shooting crap game, Brute Force really isn't so bad, especially for 10 bucks

welcome cheapy! by the way, I suggest getting the xbox exhibition disc 5. you'll get a good feel of some of the current good xbox games.

Don't forget Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio, my two current fav. xbox games. Check out Timesplitters 2 as well if you haven't played it on any other console yet.

I'm working on getting a new one (mine broke), so i can get back into the Xbox live scene.

Good call for finally making the jump to the box. I wish i could get my hands on one of those green xboxes .... sigh.
man, what took you so long?

Are you just going to play FPS?
He is seems to be looking to play more than FPS, hence:
KOTOR, Ninja Gaiden, and Splinter Cell: PT (only ther mercs are FPS).
Welcome to the dark side.
I was about to say that, but my boss kept running past me.This is my 4th attempt typing this. When u get LIVE add me to ur friends list

Congrats Cheapy. My recommendations?

1) Try out Halo lan, or PGR2, Crimson Skies, any game that has system link you should give a try. If you got a basement/room with multiple plug outlets and room for 4 tvs, give it a whirl. At the moment I link up two systems with two tvs and have five or six people over for Halo LAN, and the action is non-stop for several hours.

2) Get live. For live get Counter Strike, R6 and one good racing game.

3) Game Recommendations, out of my current 72 XBox games theres a few I think are worth every penny and are must haves. Most of my games I got cheap and don't consider must haves as is.

Halo (which you already have)
GTA Double Pack
DOA3 (Atleast at it's current price)
Links 2004 (I know this sounds silly but it's an awesome golf game)
Top Spin
KOTOR
Metal Slug 3 (Maybe when its a bit cheaper though)
Ninja Gaiden
Otogi
Panzer Dragoon Orta
PGR2 and RSC2 (Take a pick, or get both)
Shenmue 2
Steel Battalian (although that's for the rich ass)
Morrowind GOTY
Riddick
Multi System Games: Splinter Cell, SC:pT, Max Payne 1+2, Prince of Persia, Soul Calibur 2, Burnout 2, Beyond good and Evil, The Suffering and Silent Hill 2. Everything else might be worth a purchase, but all these games worth it no matter what imho.

And as always gamerankings is your friend when looking for other titles. But you know that ;)

4) Now you should always re-consider your multi platform picks. Not just for better graphics and frame rate, but perhaps additional content.

Edit: Damn I actually put this as a new topic by accident for asecond.

Congratulations to joining the Xbox Family of gamers. I personally never wanted an Xbox I was always a Playstation and Nintendo guy. I got mine for a gift and probably as of now play Xbox more than any other console I own. I would recommed Riddick as a Good Rental it truley shows off the power of the Box as well as Ninja Gaiden. Enjoy!

Welcome to the fold Cheapy! Halo and KOTOR are a good start. Be sure to let us know when you get LIVE so we can have some CAG gaming.

Make sure your wife gets into the games .... You may be spending more time with the Xbox than her if she doesn't.

Well, its a good time to get one, considering the recent wave of EB El Cheapos that are out there.

I can honestly recommend:

R: Racing Evolution (been going for $4.99)
Dave Mirra 2 ($4.99)
Counterstrike ($9.99)

yeah check out Otogi, it pure sega gold. Plus you should be able to find it for 20 or under. Also like someone said, when a game goes multi platform look at the xbox version first. Not only do you usually get the best graphics but remember that you won't have to waist space on memory cards like the other 2 consoles.

I'm praying she gets into KOTOR.
Also, I think she will like Ninja Gaiden...are there any RPG elements (read: building up of your character) in Ninja GAiden?

Mrs. CheapyD is big on the "build up".

Yes Otogi is pretty cool...I played Otogi 2 at E3.

I've noticed the Dolby Digital goodness on Halo...sounds fantastic, even on my cheap ass surround sound system.

If you get live, have a friend recommend you, so both will get a free game. You will need to have a friend email the promotion that he/she got in his/her email. Maybe I could recommend you :D. I don't mind getting Top Spin for free. Offer expires on July 29, 2004.

"Mrs. CheapyD is big on the "build up"."
That sounds like my girlfriend. When we first started dating, every time I went over to her house she would be playing Final Fantasy X. I beat that game in around 40 hours. She clocked around 200. She beat every single one of the monsters in the Arena and got everyone's ultimate weapon and had them levelled up to some crazy level. She would just sit there and power level her characters. By the time she went to beat the game it was laughably easy.
Ninja Gaiden (will wait for the 1.1 update)
AFAIK (as far as I know), the "update" is a download on Live.

As a girl, even though I am a gamer girl, my boyfriend is the one know plays most of our Xbox games, and when he was playing KOTOR, god help me I wanted him to play it all the time. I was so addicted, I started my own game when I was home by myself and he was at work. Seriously, I couldn't stop watching it.

And as for Ninja Gaiden, that is my most recent addiction. Except that my boy is stuck at one of the bosses and he is all aggravated all the time...

I really like games that have great stories, and if she happens to be the same way, I am sure she'll like watching those games!

Since you seem to be a FPS/action type gamer, I'd suggest

Deus Ex: Invisible War-I am addicted to this game at the moment, its like a mix of FPS and KOTOR.

Counter Strike is really great on xbox live, if you don't play it on pc already.

Deus Ex and Counterstrike have kept me busy pretty much all summer/spring, I picked up SpiderMan 2 and Four Swords adventures, but I keep coming back to these..

Sort of. You can get new moves, level up your magic, and acquire/level up weapons.

2 words: mod it! I too got the halo limited edition, modded it, and oh my gawd, I shall never go back. Even with an umodded xbox, there are just so many good games not available on other systems. Enjoy man.

you can level up in Otogi, but I think the max level is 40. Also you get to collect items for reaching certain goals. I don't think I'll ever get the 400 hit combo needed to get that damn wooden sword.

finally man...its great to have you aboard the xbox scene...

get live asap...it is great!! my tag is guyver2077

and yes shenmue 2 is an awesome game

sweet, i got a LE xbox also. i've already beaten Halo and Deus Ex 2, and i'm working on KotOR, Breakdown, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein

My cousin just hooked me up with his old x-box too! So far so good, Halo has been fun multiplayer, and thanks to CC I got Panzer Dragoon, Voodoo Vince, and Buffy 1 & 2 to play on it. I almost bought a live kit, then realized I had 0 games that worked with live and wanted about 2 that worked with it, so I held off.
UPDATE

So far I've beaten:
Halo
KOTOR
Riddick

and I'm about 9 hours into Ninja Gaiden.
Damn Cheapy. How long did it take you to beat KotOR? I'm just now starting both KotOR and Riddick but atleast I've beaten Halo 50 times over. :) I've also just started Ninja Gaiden so I've got alot of games to beat.

Glad you're playing some of Xbox's finest games. How do you like it so far?

EDIT- Did you ever get Splinter Cell PT?
